The Game Developers Conference is an annual gathering of all manner of professionals within the gaming industry. The Game Developers Choice Awards, or GDCA, are one of the most highly anticipated events of the yearly conference, honouring game developers who excelled in audio, design, storytelling, innovation, and social effect in the previous year. This year’s event will be hosted in San Francisco, CA, through March 21^st to March 25^th, despite being hosted online for the last two years. The nominees for Game of the Year have recently been revealed.

There are five games in the running for the GDCA Game of the Year award, three of which will be known to those who watched The Game Awards in December 2021. Resident Evil Village, Arkane Studios’ time-hopping first-person shooter Deathloop, and TGA Game of the Year winner It Takes Two are all in with a chance for the GDCA prize. Inscryption, a horror-themed deckbuilder produced by Devolver Digital, and Forza Horizon 5 are also on the list.

Several of the candidates for the GDCA Game of the Year award this year have  been nominated in other categories too. Deathloop has been nominated for six awards, It Takes Two has been nominated for five, while Forza Horizon 5 has received four nominations. The GDCA ceremony on March 23 will announce the winners in all categories, and the event will be livestreamed on the GDC Twitch channel.

SXSW Gaming Awards 2015

The Game of the Year nominees are revealed

The nominees have finally been revealed for the South by Southwest Gaming Awards 2015. Hooray! The awards will take place from 13th – 15th March this year in Austin, Texas.

Hosting this year’s awards show will be actress and comedian Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra), along with YouTube personality Markiplier. The South by Southwest Gaming Awards will run alongside it’s 2015 Gaming Expo, a free, public event coming to Austin March 13-15.

The Game Awards 2014
The nominees for the 2014 Game Awards have finally been announced!

The Game Awards 2014, which will be held on Friday 5 December (6 PM Pacific / 9 PM Eastern / 1 AM UK), have announced the nominees who are up to grab awards.

Dragon Age: Inquisition, Bayonetta 2, Dark Souls II, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Hearthstone are all up for the overall top prize of Game of the Year. Nintendo was also the most nominated publisher with 12 nominations. You go Nintendo!
