If you were hoping to get an early release version of the Steam Controller, Steam Machine, or Steam Link when they come out in October, then we’re afraid you’re going to have to wait until the actual release date on November 10th 2015. Why? They’re now all sold out!

The Steam Controller itself has been through a heck of a lot of design change, but the overall impression of those who have already given it a go seems to be pretty positive. If you’ve managed to to luckily give the controller a go, then do let us know what it’s like!

REPORT

Valve’s Steam Controller has been finalised.. Finally!

The CEO of Origin PC has announced that Valve’s ever evolving Steam Controller has now been finalised, and will be shown off at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March, according to GameSpot.

“At GDC, they’re going to have more information,” Origin’s Kevin Wasielewski told GameStop during a CES interview. “And we’ll be there. That’s the official stuff we can say. They came out with the controller, then they got some user feedback, and they had to revamp it; they got some more user feedback and had to revamp it again. So they went through that like three or four times. And now their controller is finalized. So now they’re going to production and at GDC is when they’re going to announce more stuff.”

Since it’s 2013 unveiling, the controller has been under development and changed several times, which have previously included feedback and touch-pad. When the original version was on display at last year’s CES, the controller didn’t have standard thumbsticks, face buttons nor a directional pad.

Valve says it wants to focus its public showing on the upcoming Game Developers Conference as they will not be attending this year’s CES or hosting a developers conference this year.
