New Nintendo 3DS

Expect to see this beauty on the shelves on 13th February 2015 in the UK!

The latest hardware was announced on 29th August 2014 and integrates a number of new innovations and features, these mainly being a new analogue control stick, more computing power, two new buttons, Amiibo integration, and changeable cover plates. As with the original 3DS, this latest version will come in both standard and XL, which will both feature faster processing and revised controls.

In addition to this new controller, the 3DS incorporates third and fourth back trigger buttons, the ZR and ZL buttons, conveniently located for use with the new analogue stick. As we can see from this, the handheld console harbours dimensions similar to current hardware. We can expect a wider 3D viewing angle, which will provide far less blurring when looked at from the side. The New 3DS integrates NFC connectivity into the bottom touch-screen, allowing Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines to be placed directly on the display to interact with the software. What’s more (and I’m sure that this is everyone’s favourite part of any handheld hardware), the latest version of the 3DS’ shell allows changeable cover plates, so that you may easily customise the physical appearance of your very own piece. Among the new cover plate designs are a variety of Mario-themed designs, including iconic mushrooms and a nifty wood grain throwback design.

What’s not to love about the latest version of the 3DS?! A console and screen all-in-one! It’ll be made available in the UK on 13th February 2015.
