Apple has announced that IOS 16, the latest update to its mobile operating system, will add support for the Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con controllers.

The news was revealed during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this week, after which the first developer beta was made available. Developer Riley Testut then discovered while testing the beta that his Switch Pro Controller could now be recognised and supported by his iPhone.

The news of IOS 16 adding support for the Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con controllers was met with excitement from Nintendo fans. Some were hoping that this would mean they could use their Switch controllers with their iPhones, and they were not disappointed.

While showing the controllers mapped to a Nintendo 64 controller, Testut stated “Apple seriously killed it with this implementation, this is incredible.”

Apple engineering manager Nat Brown later confirmed the support on Twitter, pointing out it is possible to split the Joy-Con into two separate controllers.

Nintendo Switch Online members may be in for a treat this week – Nintendo plans to add more NES and SNES titles to its library! The NinStatusBot Twitter account – a profile that tracks Nintendo’s planned maintenance windows – states that both the NES and SNES apps will go down for maintenance on Friday morning. This is likely in preparation for new games being added to the service. Stay tuned for more information!

Nintendo’s NES and SNES online libraries have been growing steadily since the service launched in September 2018. It currently has over 50 NES titles and over 20 SNES titles available to play. Nintendo has also added other features to the service, such as cloud saves and exclusive Nintendo Switch Online-themed items for certain games. With Nintendo’s plans to add more titles to its NES and SNES libraries on Nintendo Switch Online, it’s clear that the company is committed to making its online service worth the price of admission.

The NES library, hadn’t received a new title since May 2021, when action game Ninja JaJaMaru-kun was added to the collection.

Nintendo has yet to announce any specific titles that will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online library. However, given the recent addition of Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania to the service, it’s possible that we could see more games from these franchises added in the future. Nintendo fans will just have to wait and see what Nintendo has in store for Nintendo Switch Online!

There is something about a good shooter that just draws us in. Maybe it’s the feeling of power we get when we’re armed to the teeth and mowing down enemies by the dozen. Or maybe it’s the sense of satisfaction we feel when we finally take down that last boss after hours of gameplay. In any case, shooters are some of the most popular video games around, and there are a lot of them to choose from. In this article, we will discuss what makes a good shooter, and list our 10 favourites!

A good shooter should have a few key components. Firstly, it should have excellent gunplay. This means that the guns in the game feel good to use, and are balanced against each other well. Secondly, it should have interesting and varied level design. The levels should be fun to explore and provide plenty of places for intense firefights. Thirdly, a good shooter should have a well-written story. This can make the game much more immersive and engaging. Lastly, a good shooter should have great graphics. It’s been announced that Pac-Man will soon be appearing in Fortnite as part of a collaboration between the two gaming giants. Starting from June 2, players will be able to purchase a range of items featuring Pac-Man designs. This is sure to excite fans of both games and pave the way for more collaborations in the future!

The announcement stated “Fortnite, an online game marketed and distributed by Epic Games, and Pac-Man have decided to collaborate”. “Pac-Man motif items will be available. The collaboration will begin on June 2.”

This is not the first time that Pac-Man has been featured in a crossover event. In 2018, he appeared in Google Maps as part of a April Fools’ Day prank. Pac-Man could also be seen in the 2016 film, Pixels, which starred Adam Sandler.

Previously this month, the game brought a variety of Star Wars skins to the game, which were once limited edition.

EA has announced that its battle royale game Apex Legends has surpassed $2 billion in revenue.

This impressive milestone proves that the genre is still going strong and attracting new players all the time. In its most recent fiscal year, which ended on March 31st, Apex Legends generated around half of its total revenue. This shows that the game is still growing in popularity and isn’t close to slowing down anytime soon. Congratulations to EA and the team behind Apex Legends for this amazing accomplishment!

EA’s chief financial officer Chris Suh claimed that Apex Legends net bookings increased by over 40% for the year. This amounted to half of Apex Legends lifetime net bookings in just one year.

Former EA CFO Blake Jorgensen stated that Apex Legends had generated over $600 million during FY21, with developer Respawn elaborating in April 2021 that Apex Legends had reached over100 million players.

Just recently, Suh called Apex Legends Season 12 the game’s “most successful ever”. Apex Legends Season 13 dropped on May 10. New Season, Saviors, introduced new Legend Newcastle, a major map update, a new ranked system and other exciting features.

EA’s live services general manager, Jeff Karp, said that the team is “committed” to delivering more content and continuing to grow Apex Legends.

After nearly 30 years of partnership, FIFA and Electronic Arts have confirmed they will split. This news comes in the wake of EA’s recent announcement of EA Sports FC, a new football game that is set to rival FIFA. FIFA has since announced it will launch its own rival game, which is sure to cause huge competition in the gaming world. This is definitely an exciting development to watch!

The company has insisted that despite detaching from the FIFA brand, their games will not change dramatically. With over 300 licensing deals behind the games, ‘the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes’ will all be portrayed in EA Sports FC, they stated.

FIFA also chimed in with a statement claiming the split from EA will allow new football video games to be developed with third-party publishers, which will ultimately ‘provide more choice for football and gaming fans’. The news of the split between the two brands comes in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and will sure to be an exciting time for gaming fans around the world. FIFA’s chief commercial officer, Philippe Le Floc’h, said in a statement: “FIFA has been a key partner of EA for almost three decades and we are proud of what we have achieved together. “However, the FIFA brand has grown significantly in that time and our ambition is to ensure FIFA is one of the biggest sports and entertainment brands in the world. This means giving fans more choice when it comes to how they access FIFA content.”

EA Sports’ vice president and general manager, Cam Weber, said: “We are proud of our long-standing partnership with FIFA and the role we have played in helping to grow FIFA as a global sport. We will continue to deliver extraordinary football experiences for our players, powered by our industry-leading Frostbite engine.”

FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated “I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans,”.

“The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST.”
