Microsoft have announced a new way of getting people hyped for the new Gears of War 4, the method they have used is everyone that pre – orders the game will receive every single Gears of War game to date. This deal will be for a limited amount of time and is a great way of getting the fans and new players ready for the new Gears of War. You can either pre-order the game retail or digital before the end of 2016 on Xbox One.

The games you will receive are:

• Gears of War (2006)
• Gears of War 2 (2008)
• Gears of War 3 (2011)
• Gears of War Judgement (2013)

These games are also available and playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.

Microsoft’s Gears of War Studio

Black Tusk Studios have had a change of heart, and a change of name!

The head of Microsoft’s Black Tusk Studios, Rod Fergusson, has recently revealed the change in the company’s name, which is now The Coalition. Black Tusk is the company behind the hugely popular Gears of War franchise, and here is what he had to say about it – 

“When people hear 343 Industries, they associate it with Halo; when they hear Turn 10 Studios, they know that’s who makes Forza,” Fergusson had said in a post on Xbox.com. “Moving forward, when you hear The Coalition, we want you to think of Gears of War.”

Adding to this, Fergusson has said that The Coalition is both a reference to “who we are as a team and what we’re working on.” What he means by this is the reference to Gears of War’s The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG), which is part of the series fiction.

The Coalition’s new logo was also revealed alongside the announcement of the name change, and a very ingenious idea it is too! The logo consists of a circle of ‘C’s, which have been designed in such a way that they depict the teeth on GoW’s most iconic weapon, The Lancer.  

Fergusson has said that we can all expect to see what The Coalition are working on at E3 2015 later this month, which will be on Monday 14th June at 4pm (for Microsoft). During this, we can expect to see the latest news on the upcoming Gears of War project for the Xbox.

The next instalment of the popular franchise will NOT be arriving on Xbox 360 this time round, Black Tusk confirm

According to Black Tusk’s Jack Felling, an Xbox 360 version of the upcoming Gears of War game will NOT be available. He announced this news on Twitter this Monday. This statement is giving the impression that a cross-generation title shall not be going ahead, which is currently making games like these rare due to studios moving on to exclusivity with next-gen consoles. However, a PC version of the has not been discussed, therefore it may not be ruled out?!

When Microsoft bought Gears of War off creators Epic Games last January 2014, they made a deal to put it’s brand new Black Tusk development team to work on a brand new game for the franchise. 

When putting all of the Gears of War titles together, the games have sold more than 22 million copies worldwide and have managed to generate over one billion dollars… Wow!
