In preparation for it’s release next month, Nintendo dedicates a solo direct for Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The Xenoblade Chronicles line of games serves as a subseries of the “Xeno” series, but has stood out from its origin. First releasing on the Nintendo Wii in 2010, the series has gone on to have five more releases, as well as have protagonists Shulk and the duo, Pyra and Mythra star in the Super Smash Bros. series. With the later renewing interest in the series since March 2021, the series’ next installment is here, releasing on the 29th July.

At 3pm on the 22nd June, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will have its on Nintendo Direct, according to Nintendo, will feature “rough 20 minutes of information”. Originally planned for a September release, Nintendo revealed in April that it was brought forward to July, likely to prevent conflicting with Splatoon 3.

Interestingly, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will feature a story that ties the first two games together, whilst featuring two new protagonists, Noah and Mio, with ‘life’ being the central theme. Whilst the protagonist of the first game, Shulk appears in the sequel, it is only minor, as a “Blade”, a weaponised life form.

Despite the earlier release, the Collector’s Edition, featuring physical merchandise, such as a SteelBook case, softcover concept art book and outer box packaging has been delayed to approximately Autumn 2022. Those who purchase it will only receive the game until the merchandise is available at a later date.

Project X Zone 2

An announcement trailer has been released for the second in the series, which is to be released later this year by Bandai Namco.

The highly praised Nintendo 3DS crossover role-playing game, Project X Zone, will be receiving a sequel later in the year! Originally co-created by Bandai Namco, Capcom and SEGA, the sequel will be arriving in the Autumn of this year by Bandai Namco, and shall be named Project X Zone 2: Brave New World. This will bring together more characters from the likes of Resident Evil, Mega Man, Tales of Vesperia, and even more!

Project X Zone, the original, involved a vast variety of characters from franchises such as Tekken, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Valkyria Chronicles, and many more from the likes of SEGA, Capcom and Namco. The developer, Monolith Soft, will be developing the sequel for Bandai Namco.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

Watch 24 minutes of open world game-play from the Nintendo Wii-U exclusive!

Dear old Nintendo has released a 24 minute open world game-play video for the upcoming Wii-U exclusive, Xenoblade Chronicles X. From this video, you can see some of the game’s large robots flying about,  the exploration of a few of the game’s huge open areas and a sneak peek at some group combat! Unfortunately, the game-play is only currently available in Japanese, but following the video and what’s going on is nothing short of a doddle!

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be launching in Japan on 29th April 2015, and for Europe and North America at a later date. Nintendo also recently announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, the upcoming port of Monolith Soft’s Wii game, will launch exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS on 10th April 2015.

The reason Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is exclusive to the New 3DS is because the system packs a speedier CPU that is necessary for running the game. It is also the only game to be announced so far that requires the new system, which also plays all regular 3DS games.
