The new update will address various concerns and requests

Halo Infinite will receive its “first backend skill update” since launch to address inaccurate skill assessment and uneven player skills in multiplayer matches. This has been addressed in a new matchmaking update blog made earlier today, and with a Tweet that the official Halo account has posted:

Since launch we've been studying player ranks and ranked matchmaking in #HaloInfinite closely. Next Tuesday, we're excited to roll out updates to our current system and reset CSR ranks in matchmaking. Learn more about the upcoming changes on Waypoint!

Community manager John Junyszek noted that developer 343 Industries “has been analyzing real matches since launch” and “these learnings [live data] will help the system become even better at assessing player skills” to place them more accurately between skill distributions from here on.

When the new update rolls out though, all players will have their Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) ranks reset so that “everyone can get an updated CSR that is more indicative of their skill” in Halo Infinite. The updated CSR though will place players a whole tier below their current ranks.

“Since we saw that the CSR system was being overly generous since launch, these changes are being rolled out to help bring things closer in line to where they should be,” explained Junyszek. “This period led to a full tier inflation of ranks and, as a result, most players should expect to be placed a full tier lower (Diamond players will find themselves in Platinum, Platinum players will find themselves in Gold, etc.) after this rank reset.”

343 Industries will be rolling out the ranked matchmaking update next week on February 22, 2022. With this, the developer will continue to monitor matches and how ranked players are progressing. The multiplayer community should hence expect more of such updates down the road to keep the system “up to date with the latest player behaviors.”

Last weekend, many players had gone online with complaints about a broken ranked matchmaking system. They were being placed in uneven matches with average-ranked players going up against highly skilled ones. 343 Industries took immediate notice of the problem and resolved the crisis by the start of the week.

The root cause had not been shared, but it had been pointed out that the problem was not part of the matchmaking improvements which were introduced a day before.

The beloved Banjo Kazooie will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online N64 library tomorrow

Nintendo has now released a new trailer for the original Banjo-Kazooie coming to the Switch, announcing that it will be added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on January 20.

This action game, released for the Nintendo 64™ console in 1998, features an unlikely pair: a Honey Bear named Banjo and a Breegull named Kazooie. Together, the duo embark on a wild quest that makes use of their wide range of combined special moves. It all starts when the wicked witch Gruntilda kidnaps Tooty, Banjo’s little sister, and Banjo and Kazooie set out to bring her back—venturing from Spiral Mountain, along the shark-infested coastline of Treasure Trove Cove, through the icy perils of Freezeezy Peak, and beyond. But with Kazooie spending most of her time inside Banjo’s backpack, they’re like two heroes in one! Though they may squabble from time to time, with the two of them working together, nothing can stand in their way. Now you can join them on this journey into a magical world of adventure!

Banjo Kazooie will be added to the N64 library of games via Switch Online on January 20th, but will only be available for those who have subscribed to the premium tier of Nintendo’s service – the Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

From the developers of Blizzard Entertainment comes a whole new multiplayer world called OverWatch. The release date has been confirmed for spring 2016 and before the 21^st of June. The game is a team based shooter and will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In the world of OverWatch no two heroes are the same and it is up to you as the player to conquer your hero’s ability and bring out their full potential. The heroes range from a Rocket-hammer-wielding warrior to a time jumping adventurer. This game in other words is going to be full of wonderful and amazing heroes that you have to mould in to the hero that you want them to be.

Play your role

The front line is not for everyone and that is the beauty of the world of OverWatch. You and your team need to work out were your hero is suited best. Whether that be providing defensive cover with your energy shield, or supporting your team with increasing their damage against the enemy’s.  Every hero is designed so they are effective towards the team that they are on and against. The key to victory is knowing where you are suited best in your team and combining powers to become the ultimate dream team.

Team Based Objectives

The world is your battlefield…. The secrets of the mysterious temple of Anubis is up for grabs and we cannot have it in the wrong hands. However it is not all intense as you can just go in to soft missions and escort an EMP device through King’s Row.

This was one of our favourite screen shots of the game that was released. This describes an acrobatic shooting style of a certain hero. The art work is absolutely epic and does not give too much away which is even better.

Call of Duty Championships 2015

$1 Million is up for grabs! Darn.. I should have entered..

Yesterday, Activision announced their plans for the 2015 Call of Duty Championships, which will see the best of the best of ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ players battle it out for $1 Million in prizes.

The championships will be held from 27th – 29th March in Los Angeles. A grand total of 32 teams from around the world will compete for that all important title “World Champions”, as well as the $1 Million total tournament purse. This year, the event will be sponsored by, in part, Microsoft/Xbox and Major League Gaming.

“We developed Advanced Warfare with the competitive community in mind, and we can’t wait for the top talent from around the world to compete in the Call of Duty Championships,” Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield proclaimed  in a statement.

The qualifying events are to be held through Xbox One online, whilst the actual final match championship will be broadcast LIVE on Xbox One Live and other networks. To “boost eSports to new heights” is what Activision is aiming for this year with the championships.

The championships are open to anyone at all; whether you’re a hardcore professional or have just recently started out. For more information on all of this; head to the Major League Gaming website.
