Twitch and Streamlabs have joined forces help streamers improve broadcasts from an Xbox, without the need for a capture card. The web-based Streamlabs Studio will allow streamers to customize their broadcasts with widgets and overlays, such as a chat panel or live stream alerts, making them more appealing visually and in terms of practicality.

“Live streaming gives viewers unprecedented access to their favorite creators. Real-time viewer engagement via chat and alerts create incredible shared experiences,” Streamlabs’ head of product, Ashray Urs, said in a statement. “In the past, creating professional broadcasts and engaging viewers from a console has been challenging. With Streamlabs Studio, you can transform console gameplay into a high-quality live stream production with viewer engagement tools to interact with your community.”

Typically, Twitch streamers who broadcast their Xbox console gameplay have had to jump through a series of hoops to do so. You have to run the video through a PC with the help of a capture card if you want to add onscreen donation alerts or custom layouts. Xbox owners can now select “Streamlabs” as a destination in the Twitch app and log into the Streamlabs Studio website to customize the stream. The site also works on mobile and tablets, so you don’t even need a PC to personalize your stream, or to switch between preset scenes.

All these features in Streamlabs aren’t free, however. Streamlabs Prime costs 5 USD p/m or 50 p/a. However, it does make streaming more accessible.

If you’re not willing to shell out, Microsoft is supposedly working on an option to make Xbox streaming easier.

If you’ve been struggling to find certain animal livestreams while scouring Twitch, you’re in luck because it has just become ten times easier!

Twitch announced it has created a new category for all the animal lovers out there, titled Animals, Aquariums and Zoos. Despite being a popular website to watch livestreams of animals, the streaming company had yet to create a title

In this category, Twitch viewers can find all sorts of furry/feathered creatures from various zoos, private owners, and conservation habitats while they originally had to go through multiple categories such as ASMR, Outdoor, and Music & Pools.

The new category will be the perfect space to relax after one or two stressful gaming streams (why not try our very own at Go2Games?), and will offer you a variety of animal livestreams such as a wolf den, barn owl breeding habitat, an otter enclosure and, of course, numerous cats, dogs, and bunnies.

Twitch viewers will also be able to scroll through multiple videos and short clips of animals too when the animals are too busy sleeping!

The animal livestreams are also interactive so if you want to feed some ducks or perhaps change a habitat’s lighting system, all you need to do is donate Bits to the livestream! There’s also already emotes you can buy in Bits from the different animal livestreams. The great thing about donating is that it can go towards helping the different organisations that keep the animals healthy and to conservations for animals that might be endangered.

The post Twitch: New Animal Livestream Category Launches During Animal Week first appeared on Get2Gaming.

The update should make streaming to Twitch from Xbox much easier.

Streaming to Twitch on the PS5 is relatively easy, but not so much on the Xbox Series X or S. Currently, you need to download the Twitch app and run through a series of steps in order to stream to the platform. However, Microsoft will introduce “Console Live Streaming” on its latest update Xbox Insider preview. This should make Twitch access easier and more direct, and it also added an Xbox Cloud Gaming beta to Xbox One, giving users of older consoles access to the latest games.

To use the new Twitch streaming feature, you’ll just need to navigate the “Capture and Share” tab and choose “Live streaming.” You can simply link your Twitch account using a mobile device or console settings, as you’ve done when linking socials before, then hit the “Go live now” button to start streaming gameplay.

“This feature only streams game play so viewers will see a pause screen if the user navigates to home or another app,” Microsoft clarified in the post. There’s no need to worry about any privacy issues in that regard.

If you’re still on an Xbox One and want to play Xbox Series X/S titles or more hardware intensive games, the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta is also available to Insiders. Want to play an Xbox Series X/S exclusive like Microsoft Flight Simulator on an Xbox One? It’s now feasible if you’re on the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, launching today at 10 PM in the UK.

As for us regular Xbox gamers, though, we will have to wait a little while.

Twitch has confirmed that the data breach is, indeed, authentic. Yesterday, October 6th, a user on 4chan posted a 125GB torrent link, claiming the leak was intended to “foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space” because “their community is a disgusting toxic cesspool”.

The file is publicly available to download, as verified by VGC, The Record, and more.

The leaked Twitch data reportedly includes:

• The entirety of Twitch’s source code, back to its early beginnings
• Creator payout records from 2019
• An unreleased Steam competitor named Vapor, from Amazon Game Studios
• Mobile, desktop, and console Twitch clients
• Proprietary SDKs and internal AWS services used by Twitch
• Information relating to Twitch’s other properties, including IGDB and CurseForge
• Twitch’s internal ‘red teaming’ tools – designed to improve security by having staff pretend to be hackers

Twitter uses have started combing the 125GB of leaked info. One user claims that the leak includes encrypted passwords.

It is recommended that you change your Twitch password and set up two-factor authentication. If you were using your Twitch password for any other sites, it’s best to change those as well.

Here’s how to turn on two-factor identification:

Log on to Twitch, click your avatar and choose Settings.
Go to Security and Privacy, then scroll down to the Security setting.
If you haven’t already, you will be able to activate two-factor authentication from here. You’ll need your phone to follow the instructions.

As always, stay safe online and be careful which sites you give your personal data. Avoid reusing password and email combinations on multiple sites, and keep your personal data as private as possible.

Streaming video games has become an extensive market for video entertainment. It can range from people simply talking over the game they’re playing or taking a more laid back approach when playing while chatting with their fans.

We even have our own twitch channel if you’re yet to follow!

So it’s not unusual for streamers to play music alongside, however, it comes at a risk. Streamers are constantly getting hassled with copyright strikes when playing background music, with many facing DCMA takedowns.

Fortunately, Riot Games has come up with a solution.

Riot Games Sessions Vi

Riot Games are responsible for the world’s most-streamed games on a platform such as League of Legends and Valorant and they have now created a royalty-free album free for any and all creators to use while streaming (so not just when you play one of their games).

Released on July 2, Sessions Vi is a 37-track album specifically for copyright-free content creation. It consists of mostly instrumental music by artists such as chromonicci, junior state, Tennyson, and Hanz, and has been made available on all music streaming platforms.

Riot Games confirmed in their FAQ that this will be the first of many releases, therefore will we see the music library is only going to continue to grow.

They also stated that while it shouldn’t result in any DMCA takedowns, streamers should still credit the artists like they would with any content that is not of one’s own creation. It is out of respect to do so, but also music copyright and disruption can be a little finicky and can punish those who are not careful with the type of music they incorporate so it’s always best to be on the safe side.

An actual drive-by shooting was caught on a stream while the stream was being aired worldwide. The Twitch streamer was incredibly calm about the situation and was actually still having a joke around with the viewers.

The Streamer was Matthew Serna, who goes by the username AnarchYxNinja1. The game he was streaming at the time was Star Wars Battlefront when you can actually hear the frightening gunshots come from outside his windows. “Did you hear that you guys?” Serna asks his viewers before adding in a jokey way: “Someone’s just got shot I think”

It was weird to see the streamer be so calm after hearing such noises from outside his window. It was later on discovered that Serna was laughing out of disbelief however he then goes on to say in a jokey way that: “I think I need to grab a gun right now” and then surprisingly says “I think it’s a drive-by, no big deal.”

It was later confirmed by Matthew himself that there “was a drive-by in the area.”

Google’s Youtube looks set to launch rival to Amazon owned streaming Service Twitch.

It is no secret that YouTube’s owners Google failed in there bid to acquire Twitch last year, being beaten to the post by Amazon’s 970 million pound offer. With global video game streaming audiences continuing to grow YouTube Gaming’s product manager Alan Joyce feels the time is right for a more dedicated outlet for gaming as a whole, in the hope of sharing some of Twitch’s recent successes. In his most recent blog post Joyce said;

“On YouTube, gaming has spawned entirely new genres of videos, from let’s plays, walkthroughs, and speedruns to cooking and music videos. Now, it’s our turn to return the favour with something built just for gamers.”

Youtube is promising 25,000 gaming portals, bringing together all activity of each gaming title,  then fencing it off from the rest of YouTubes mass of content allowing seamless search, browsing and viewing of content.

With twitch already clocking up over 12 billion game streaming hours a month on it’s platform along with the allure of advertising revenue this looks set to be an almighty content based battle!

Youtube Gaming will comprise of a new dedicated site and app which is set to launch in the US and UK this summer.

PC to Xbox One streaming

Microsoft investigate!

Microsoft has said that it is also working on allowing the streaming of PC games to Xbox One, having already heard the news that the new operating system will allow the streaming of Xbox One games to PC. It looks like the game streaming properties of Windows 10 will end up swinging both ways…

“We’re actively investigating that right now,” Microsoft studio manager Mike Ybarra told Eurogamer. “We don’t have any further details to share, but it’s something we’re looking at.”

“Right now in the labs it’s 720p/30fps. We’re looking at 1080p/30fps, 1080p/60fps and that is where a lot of what’s your home network – is it wired? – will come in to effect.” Ybarra added in relation to it’s Xbox One to PC streaming tech.

He also went on to add, “So really it will largely depend on the scenario in which someone’s trying to play that. But we’re investigating to make sure that we can give the optimal experience based on what the scenario is for the consumer.”

Kinect Games won’t work for obvious reasons, however, so compatibility will not be universal.
