A new Monster Hunter attraction has been announced at Universe Studios Japan that will immerse you in the hunt

Capcom announced that a VR attraction for the Monster Hunter franchise will be making its way to Universal Studios Japan at the start of 2022, titled Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. 

This attraction is based on the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion pack that was released in 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk VR attraction at Universal Studios Japan will feature a story set in Seliana- the new base built as the headquarters for investigations in the Hoarfrost Reach. Players will traverse the virtual environment to take on the fearsome Velkhana, the flagship monster of the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion. The VR attractions will have a total of five selectable weapons; the Long Sword, Great Sword, Hammer, Switch Axe, and Heavy Bowgun to take down the monsters with.

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk VR attraction will arrive on January 21 2022 and stay until August 28.

 

 

This isn’t the first time Capcom’s IP has entered Universal Studios Japan as there have been previous Monster Hunter and Resident Evil attractions available. The Resident Evil attraction also had visitors traverse in a recreation of Raccoon City in a fully immersive experience as well.

Monster Hunter isn’t the only franchise that will be coming to Universal Studios Japan as it was recently announced Pokemon would be joining the list of attractions in 2022.

The Japanese theme park has announced its partnership with The Pokemon Company and we can expect a few rides coming our way!

Exciting news for Pokemon fans! Universal Studios Japan has announced the pocket monsters will be arriving at the attraction park situated in Osaka sometime in 2022!

This will be the first time Pokemon-themed rides and attractions appear in Universal Studios, and thanks to the long-term partnership agreed between Universal Studios and The Pokemon Company, we are in for a treat for the creativity and immersive attractions we can expect to appear early next year.

Nintendo has already got a feast of attractions at Universal Studios Japan thanks to its recently added Super Nintendo World area that opened earlier this year, and a Donkey Kong expansion that is already in the works. Now, Pokemon is joining the many Nintendo products attraction-park-goers can immersive themselves in.

 

 

Universal Studios Japan and The Pokémon Company will enter a long-term partnership to jointly explore ground-breaking entertainment that will immerse guests into the world of Pokémon with innovative technology and creativity beginning in 2022. It is unlikely we will be seeing a new Pokemon area opening up when the Super Nintendo World only just opened after being delayed due to the global pandemic, however, it is possible we will see new rides and attractions opening up in the Super Nintendo World section sometime soon, so definitely keep your Pokeballs at the ready!

Get ready for a whole new Donkey Kong adventure in real life, coming to Universal Studios Japan!

Nintendo has officially confirmed Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan will receive a Donkey Kong expansion that will officially open in 2024.

Super Nintendo World officially opened in Osaka, Japan back on March 18 earlier this year and already include areas such as Princess Peach’s Castle, Bowser’s Castle, and rides such as Mario Kart: Koopa Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure.

It’s been speculated by fans for some time now whether we would receive a new Donkey Kong expansion, thanks to the locked door hidden towards the north of the park that can only be described as a Donkey Kong-esque design, as well as plans for the Donkey Kong expansion that have been floating around since 2019.

It has been confirmed by Nintendo that the official opening date will be in 2024, a year later than what had already been suggested. The Donkey Kong area will include a rollercoaster- something that has yet to appear in the Mario area since the rides are appropriate for all ages, interactive elements and themed merchandise and food.

It has also been stated that the new Donkey Kong area will be expanding Super Nintendo World by 70%, which will excite many Nintendo fans that have, or are waiting to visit the immersive theme park.

Super Nintendo World is also expecting to open in the US, with construction already underway at Universal Studios’ Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida is also expecting to see the arrival of Mario and his friends.
