Well this is certainly going to become handy in the future! Have you ever felt like that old pesky TV remote of yours is just too far away? Are you sat perfectly in your gaming chair, just not wanting to get out of that comfy position you’ve found yourself in?

Well fear not Xbox gamers, for now you won’t have to reach for the TV remote ever again! Microsoft is developing an update to their controllers which allows you to press the Xbox button on your controller to switch the input to your Series X or Series S. Similarly, you can hop on back to normal television just the same, perfect for when you’ve got time to spare when that new game of yours is downloading. How amazing is that?!

How can they do this, we hear you ask?. The feature will ultimately depend on the newer Xbox consoles support for HDMI-CEC, and will be able to be enabled through the “Sleep mode & startup” settings on the “TV & A/V power options” selection. Whilst the idea isn’t entirely original, it is most definitely going to be useful!

Guerrilla Games have announced that Patch 1.11 will bring with a number of fixes, which include some progression-blocking bugs. This hindered many gamers  experiences with side quests being a problem for a number of players. Not only this, but they intend to look at the PlayStation built-in streaming tools and work out how to better implement them too.

Horizon Forbidden West Patch 1.11

KNOWN ISSUES

We are currently looking into several issues reported by the community. Please note that these issues are not yet fixed in this patch, but our teams are aware of them and they’re being investigated.

• During Side Quest ‘Blood Choke’, Atekka does not use the ballista.

• The ‘Upgraded Every Pouch Type’ Trophy does not unlock for some players after upgrading each Pouch type – please note, for this trophy you will need to have the Food Pouch which is collected after purchasing food from a chef.

• Players reported no longer being able to trade with Abadund after completing his dialogue after finishing a Side Quest.

• Players cannot place any waypoint markers on the open world within a 500 meter radius of Aloy’s position.

• Players reported new items acquired not showing up with the New (!) icon in their inventory.

We are also aware of streams being interrupted when playing on 1080p and 60fps, after saving at campfires. To avoid this from happening, it’s advised to select a lower broadcast quality or lower framerate, for example, 1080p and 30fps, or 720p and 60fps.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

Main Quests

• Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Broken Sky” where sometimes players were not able to interact with or follow Kotallo after fast traveling away and progressing through other side content.

• Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Wings Of The Ten” where in rare occasions the objective would not update upon returning to the Base, blocking progression.

Side Quests

• Fixed multiple conditional progression issues in Side Quest “Thirst For The Hunt”.

• Fixed an issue in Side Quest “Boom Or Bust” where overriding any of the machines during the “Kill the Machines” objective would not progress the quest.

• Fixed multiple instances of machines that would get outside of the player’s reach during Side Quest objectives, thus conditionally blocking progression.

World Activities

• Fixed an issue in Rebel Camp Devil’s Grasp where sometimes the “Search the Command Center” objective could not be completed.

• Fixed an issue in Rebel Camp First Forge where the player can miss obtaining the Sun Scourge bow by reloading a save after looting Asera. NOTE: This will not affect save games of people who “lost” the bow due to reloading the save after picking up the bow but before talking to Erend. These players can revisit Asera’s corpse. Asera’s corpse will always respawn until players have looted the bow from her. Please, take the bow so she can stop haunting the West.

• Fixed an issue with Keruf’s “Missing Gear” salvage contract where the contract could not be completed if the player acquired multiples of the required items.

• Fixed an issue in the Plainsong Hunting Grounds where trials could sometimes not be started or completed.

• Fixed an issue with Melee Pits progression.

Machines

• Fixed an issue where player level instead of kill count could influence whether Apex or Evolved machines would spawn in the open world instead of standard variants.

• Fixed an issue with the Bristleback where the Apex version would never spawn in the open world.

• Fixed an issue with the Plowhorn where the Apex Plowhorn would not contain the Apex Plowhorn Heart.

• Fixed an issue with the Rockbreaker where “Mining Claws” could not be collected from an Apex Rockbreaker after detaching them.

• Fixed an issue with the Slaughterspine where looting the Plasma Earthblaster from the Apex Slaughterspine would contain one metal shard, instead of Volatile Sludge and Crystal Braiding.

• Tweaked drop rates for the Snapmaw’s “Dispersal Tanks” loot.

• Fixed an issue with the Swooper where the Swooper would stand in the air.

• Fixed an issue with the Thunderjaw where the regular (non-Apex) version would never spawn in the open world.

• Disciplined a Tideripper caught showing off by slip and sliding across their designated habitat.

• Fixed an issue with the Widemaw where its throat keeps spinning after it has been killed.

Humans

• Fixed an issue with humanoid enemies where applying the killing blow with a Spike Thrower could cause the enemies to freeze in place instead of dying and falling to the ground.

Weapons/Armor/Skills

• Rebalanced the unintentional change on Legendary weapons.

• Fixed an issue with the upgrade path for Death-Seeker’s Shadow: Increased Impact Damage for Advance Hunter Arrows with the first upgrade.

• Fixed an issue with Death-Seeker’s Shadow and Lightning Hunter Bow where crafting Advanced Shock Hunter arrows would draw resources from the stash.

• Fixed an issue with Shredders where sometimes the reload and toss animation did not play.

• Fixed an issue with Shredders where Advanced Shredders would use the same icon as normal Shredders.

• Fixed an issue with the Shredder Satchel where the Workbench menu states that the maximum number of Advanced Shredders is increased to 12, but the actual maximum number in-game was 11.

• Fixed an incorrect statement in the tutorial text for the Purgewater tutorial. The text used to state ‘Once in this state, their elemental attacks are disabled and they become more vulnerable to Frost and Shock attacks.‘ This has been changed to ‘Once in this state, their elemental attacks are disabled and their resistance to all elemental damage and states is reduced.’

• Fixed an issue with Coils and Weaves where mods that are meant to increase impact damage instead increase all damage.

• Fixed an issue with Coils and Weaves where weaves that grant multiple defense increases show the Plasma Weave icon.

• Fixed an edge case where pressing the “throw” action for Rocks would perform a Heavy Melee instead. Stealth players, don’t celebrate too loud, the machines will hear you!

• Fixed an issue with Hunter Bows where the reload animation plays incorrectly when using Advanced Elemental or Targeting arrows. Players should now be able to fire arrows more rapidly.

• Fixed an issue with the Carja Wanderer, Nora Sentinel and Nora Tracker armor where resistances would decrease when upgrading them.

UI/UX

• Activating a new quest prompt when it shows up in the HUD will now correctly highlight that quest in the Quests tab in the journal.

• Fixed an issue where trying to access a workbench after selling all weapons would result in an infinite black screen.

• Action prompts and quest markers can now be hidden in the custom HUD settings.

Graphics

• Improved visibility in the underwater section of the San Francisco Challenge Ruin Hobart Office.

• Changed the sort order on some vegetation assets to improve rendering time.

• Made adjustments to the dynamic resolution system to scale better.

Performance and Stability

• Multiple crash fixes.

• Multiple streaming fixes in game and in cinematics.

Other

• Added subtitles for the lyrics of the title song, “In The Flood”. Time for a karaoke session!

• Added a “Toggle” option in the Settings menu for loot actions.

• Fixed multiple control remapping conflicts.

• Fixed a default control conflict between Mount Light Attack and Select/Deselect Track while in Focus mode.

• Fixed an issue where Aloy could become locked in an animation if a Valor Surge was activated while using a zipline.

• Fixed an issue where killing a hovering Stormbird could sometimes result in its corpse being stuck in a floating position.

• Fixed an issue where difficulty-related settings could be enabled in difficulty modes that did not allow them.

• Fixed multiple instances where Aloy could get stuck in geometry.

It seems the world has become infatuated with the LEGO world once more, as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga reaches new heights on its first day on Steam. According to reports, the game has smashed the previous record for concurrent players on any LEGO game ever on the service!

After the game’s release on Tuesday 5th April, it quickly became clear the game was going to be a smash hit. This is because just within two hours the game reached a peak of 82,517 concurrent users! As a result, it was shortly placed higher than some Steam stalwarts such as Rainbow Six Siege and Football Manager 2022. Pretty impressive, right?

It should therefore come as no surprise this peaks way beyond any LEGO game, with its closest rival being LEGO Marvel Super Heroes which was released eight years ago. Even then, the game only got 5,953 users, meaning the latest LEGO adventure obliterated it by an awe-inspiring 1200%. 

The ten Lego games with the highest peak concurrent users on Steam are now as follows:

• Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (82,517)
• Lego Marvel Super Heroes (5,953)
• Lego The Hobbit (5,550)
• The Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame (5,434)
• Lego The Lord of the Rings (5,045)
• Lego Worlds (4,911)
• Lego Jurassic World (3,498)
• Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2,586)
• Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (2,186)
• Lego Marvel’s Avengers (2,112)

Obviously it’s too early to indicate exactly how well the sales have gone, but this can only be a positive for TT Games. The game has been receiving rave reviews thus far, with specific praise being targeted at the cool new game play mechanics and impressive hub worlds. Also, there are so many hidden little features which will have every Star Wars fan gleaming with joy! It truly is the ultimate Star Wars gaming experience.

The post The Skywalker Saga Smashes Steam User Record first appeared on Get2Gaming.

After the mixed response of GTA: The Definitive Edition, Rockstar will be hoping to learn from their mistakes as they have just announced that, alongside Remedy, they will be remaking PlayStation 2 classics Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The two remakes will be available for the PlayStation 5 as one single product, with reports suggesting the title is currently in the “concept development stage”.

Additionally, it has been reported that Remedy will be using its usual Northlight game engine so it seems that they will be taking charge of the product, with Rockstar funding them with whatever they desire. It seems that the budget will be no more than a “typical Remedy AAA production” but with Rockstar doing so well at the moment with the success of GTA Online, who knows how much that could go up to!

Unfortunately, the release date wasn’t mentioned within the press release, meaning that we’re unlikely to see it in the next couple years or so. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean we can’t get on the hype train right now, does it? This is what the founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, had to say upon the exciting news:

“We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games. We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years, and we can’t wait to play these new versions.”

The Remedy CEO Tero Virtala then went on to explain the passion behind the project, with Max Payne holding a special place in the hearts of everyone at the company.

“We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”

Max Payne was first released back in the summer of 2001, where it initially only appeared on the PC before making its way onto the PS2 six months later. Two years later, we got its sequel, the Fall of Max Payne, which got similarly great reviews.

Fans were then starved of Max Payne material for a further nine years, with Max Payne 3 arriving in 2012. All three games of the franchise have been met with great success, with praise specifically being targeted at the impressive storytelling and gameplay mechanics. We cannot wait to see how this remake turns out!

The post Max Payne 1 And 2 Remakes Coming To PS5 first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Who’s ready for this then? Valve have just announced they are going to start to increase Steam Deck shipments to the masses! Woo Hoo!

Back in February, the company launched Steam back after a two-month delay caused by material shortages which they are still trying to work on to this day. This is what they had to say upon the matter:

“We’ve just sent out the first set of order emails to Q2 reservers (in order of reservation time),” it said on Monday. “Starting today we’re ramping up Steam Deck shipments, and will be sending more order availability emails every week. Sometimes even twice a week!”

Thankfully, customers will be given the chance to have 72 hours from receipt of their order email to get a Steam Deck or their reservation will be passed onto the next person. This’ll give you plenty of time to decide whether the decision is the right one for you!

Currently, the Steam Deck prices start at $399 / £349 (64GB eMMC), with increased storage options available for $529 / £459 (256GB NVMe SSD) and $649 / £569 (512GB NVMe SSD).

Unfortunately, the delays have meant new orders placed today won’t be available to reach you until after October 2022. This is obviously not the news a lot of people want to hear, but as they say patience is a virtue so we must stay strong! Especially considering the fact Valve said last month that it had fixed reported incidents of Steam Deck analogue stick drift via a software update.

Uh oh Hearthstone fans, look away now I say! Criticism has been aimed at Blizzard, as the company added a ‘Diamond Drek’Thar’ card that costs £20.99 to purchase. Yikes!

The latest patch for Hearthstone sees the introduction of this diamond version of the card, which makes it one of the rarest in the game. Diamond-tier cards are animated but do mostly work similar to the lower-tier cards too. This is what it reads on the card’s entry on the Battle.Net store:

“The Horde may have lost the battle for Alterac Valley, but the honourable Horde is proud and strong! Show that your Horde pride can overcome any enemy with this Diamond Drek’Thar Legendary card, featuring a special Diamond frame and animation,”

Sounds pretty cool right? Nevertheless, it certainly doesn’t warrant the price tag Blizzard has put on it! Many fans have expressed their opinions on social media, and they’re making it clear what they think about it!

“Just when you thought Blizzard[‘s] monetization couldn’t get any greedier,” added one unhappy reddit player. Over on Twitter, things don’t go much better either, with some suggesting it’s a bit too late for an “April Fools joke”.

“Diamond Drek’Thar should summon 10-drops because it sure as hell costs more than every single minion in my deck,” joked Hearthstone Top Decks. Another Twitter user added that they think it looks like Blizzard’s attempt at a “collectors item” instead looks like “they are trying to rip some people off”.

Last Of Us fans pay attention here, as there’s some potentially interesting news going on. Derek Phillips, the actor who played Abby’s dad in The Last Of Us Part 2, has revealed he is working on a new motion capture project. Interesting, huh?

Posting on his Instagram yesterday, the actor revealed he is “Back in my sexy mocap tights” and that he “can’t wait to share what he’s working on with all of you! It’s gonna be epic!!!!”

Previously, Phillips has done motion capture not only for surgeon Jerry Anderson in The Last Of Us Part 2, but also for Lieutenant Wade Jackson in Call of Duty Vanguard. Additionally, he has worked on a number of other famous titles such as Dishonored, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Battlefield Hardline, Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and The Last of Us. As such, this doesn’t reveal too much about the possibility of The Last Of Us Part 3, however we can still be hopeful, can’t we?

In other news, it was recently revealed that the PS5 remake of the original The Last of Us is almost here, and could find itself on the supermarket shelves in the latter stages of 2022. Despite it not being officially announced yet,  industry insider Tom Henderson believes it’s only a matter of time before Sony does so.

With series creator Naughty Dog supposedly leading the remake, the co-president Neil Druckmann said in January that the studio was “dying to share” with fans “the multiple game projects” it’s working on. This will likely include the studios “first standalone multiplayer game”, which could have negative effects on the Last Of Us Part 2’s supposed online mode.

Who doesn’t love a LEGO Game? I know we can’t get enough of them! There’s something about the brick adventures which hold a special place in many gamers hearts, giving us endless hours of puzzle-inducing action-adventure fun. After the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga yesterday, we decided to have a quick look back across TT Games’ portfolio in search of the best LEGO games of all time!

Despite receiving such great reviews, you may notice the Skywalker Saga will be an omission from this list, as we’re yet to get our hands on the game! However, when we do, be sure to come back here for all the LEGO Star Wars action your hearts can desire! In the meantime, let’s delve into our (possibly controversial) ranking of the top five LEGO games that truly stole our hearts.

5. LEGO City Undercover

Kicking off our little ranking is the LEGO game equivalent of Grand Theft Auto for kids. LEGO City Undercover was a thrilling open-world experience, letting you take control of Chase Mccaine, a police officer who’s been tasked with going undercover (duh) to hunt down the notorious – and recently escaped – criminal Rex Fury and put an end to his city-wide crime wave.

Whilst lacking the movie magic which many LEGO Games fortunately possess, LEGO City Undercover still managed to capture our imaginations and enrich us with a worthwhile story-driven adventure. Driving was fun, the city was surprisingly detailed and the mechanics still hold up five years later. It’s quite easy to forget that this was made for children, as you really just cannot get enough!

4. LEGO Marvel Superheroes

Another original story from TT Games here, but this time with much more recognisable faces. LEGO Marvel Superheroes let you free-roam a LEGO replica of New York as some of your favourite characters, including (but not limited to) Mr Fantastic, Captain America and Iron Man! With over 155 Marvel characters to choose from, you were not short of exciting mini-figures to run rampant with.

Not only this, but the main plot managed to expertly intertwine all these familiar faces together with exciting gameplay mechanics, a custom hero creator, diverse vehicles and so much more! If you’re a Marvel and LEGO fan, this really was a love letter to you all, and easily makes its way onto this list.

3. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

The first LEGO game to introduce voice roles, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes laid the groundwork for LEGO Marvel Superheroes and therefore it’s only right that it goes higher up on the list!

Offering up one of the best iterations of Gotham in gaming history, the game was hit amongst critics and fans alike. Continuing the standard LEGO formula, the games story really didn’t miss a beat with the introduction of voice acting helping to bring the wacky world of LEGO to life even more. Not only this, but the character roster offered quality not quantity too, with everyone from Batman to Gorilla Grodd available to play.

This is arguably the ultimate Batman gaming experience, with everything the caped crusader is known for packed into one great LEGO journey!

2. LEGO Dimensions

If you thought our last two entries on the list had great crossovers, well you ain’t seen nothing yet! During the Skylanders/ Amiibo/ Disney Infinity toys-to-life period, LEGO knew it was their chance to get in on the action. As a result, we got LEGO Dimensions, where you could build your LEGOs in real life then scan them into the game. Genius!

However, this really was taking things to the next level. The amount of licence properties TT Games were able to get into the game was absolutely phenomenal. From Gandalf to Batman, Homer Simpson to Sonic, it really didn’t hold back on giving us some of the wildest crossovers of all time! As such, it’s really quite impossible in arguing to not put the game so high up on the list!

A great experience for both parent and child, we really hope they’re able to bring it back and continue to add to the vast amount of franchises they’ve already got.

1. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Was there really any doubt? The original LEGO game and subsequent releases combined into one beautifully delivered package, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga was the ultimate Star Wars experience (perhaps only to be toppled by the Skywalker Saga). Spanning across the original six episodes, the game let you take on over 120 playable mini-figures including iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi.

Without this title, no other LEGO Game would’ve even got through the gates, as it set the ball rolling for one of the most successful gaming franchises in history. All the goofy fun you’ve come to expect from LEGO games was jam-packed into this adventure, and therefore it’s hard to think of another game more deserving to be top of this list.

Rejoice Lara Croft fans! It has just been announced that a new Tomb Raider game is officially in development, and will be using Unreal Engine 5. Developers Crystal Dynamic and publisher Square Enix revealed the exciting news today, and we just cannot wait to hear more about it!

Selling over 82 million copies worldwide, the Tomb Raider series is one of the most iconic gaming franchises in history. With twelve games and two RPG spin offs, the series has given us some of the most memorable gaming moments in its twenty-six year existence. We’ve seen Lara Croft develop alongside ourselves, with each sequel pushing cinematic boundaries in gaming to the next level.

Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to look like it will stop anytime soon! Whilst at the time of writing there is no information of release date, platforms, title or gameplay, we can confirm that it will be using Unreal Engine 5, the newest engine from Epic Games. Obviously, this means we’re going to see Lara Croft in some true next-gen visuals, continuing her growth from just the pixel character she was way back in 1996.

Unsurprisingly, the news was made public at today’s State of Unreal 2022, which is a unique presentation by Epic Games show off the Unreal Engine 5. This is what the developers had to say upon the matter:

“Crystal Dynamics is incredibly excited about the future of Unreal and how it will help us take our storytelling to the next level,” said Crystal Dynamics of the announcement. “That’s why we’re proud to announce that our next #tombraider game is being built on Unreal Engine 5!”

Boasting a vast new array of gameplay improvements, character designs and iconic planets, it looks like this is going to be the ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience we’ve all been waiting for. However, there is one newly announced feature which will certainly peak players interest even more than it already is!

Star Wars Players Can Summon Death Star To Different Planets

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the sixth entry in developer TT Games’ long-running LEGO Star Wars franchise. Starting with the original back in 2005, the series has come on leaps and bounds since then, establishing itself as a stalwart of TT Games portfolio.

Despite the game officially releasing on April 5, 2022, some gamers managed to receive the title early. As such, plenty of cool hidden features have been revealed, but don’t worry we’re only going to look at one today! Can’t be spoiling the excitement for you now, can we?

One of those lucky early LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga fans were a pair of content creators called Lunar Squadron. During their ‘Let’s Play’ video, we see them explore the beautiful space metropolis of Coruscant, where they reveal they have already completed the main game. Because of this, they are able to implement a feature where you can  instantly summon the Death Star to your location. How cool is that?
