But on February 3rd, Sony and Tango offered all-new details about (and first extended gameplay of) the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, which is slated for a March 25 release on console and Windows PC.

Tango Gameworks the same developers that created Evil Within franchise is back with another scary addition in Ghostwire: Toyko During the new video showcase, Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami asked his co-workers to describe their new game Ghostwire Toyko, which resulted in various different answers. Character designer Reiko Hiroshima, who also worked on the Evil Within franchise called it “paranormal,” while programmer Tsuyoshi Okugawa described the game simply as “authentic Tokyo.” However, game designer Suguru Murakoshi, had an very unexpected response.”

Game Designer Suguru Murakoshi said;

“The origins of it are truly Japanese,” “In a Japanese studio, and a game set in Japan, it’s a game where everyone can find something to love. With some sweet and tangy parts, just like a strawberry shortcake.”

To briefly sum up what the game is about; Ghostwire: Tokyo is about a supernatural and paranormal event that takes place in Tokyo, Japan. The city’s residents just upright vanish, a deathly fog castes all over the city, and it comes down to the protagonist Akito and his partner KK, a spirit who inhabits Akito’s body and grants him supernatural powers. To cleanse to clean the streets of tokyo that is covered in Yokai (Yōkai are a class of supernatural entities and spirits in Japanese folklore), ghosts, Slender salarymen, headless schoolkids, and other paranormal creatures. Trying to stop Akito and KK is a mysterious and malicious masked man named Hannya.

GhostWire Tokyo is a peculiar one for Tango Gameworks cause like their previous games, this one

is first person, spell-casting action-adventure game which is quite the change from the survivor horror games that they did. normally there’s a pattern of theme with Bethesda and their open world adventure games and first person shooters, you know, with guns, armour and things of that nature but in GhostWire Tokyo, your weapons are your hands and the monsters you slay are inspired by Japanese legends and folklore.

“The power of the hands plays such an important role,”- said game director, Kenji Kimura. Akito will have the ability to master and control the four elements; earth, wind, fire, and water against the weirdest yet powerful creatures. He’ll also gain access to a bow and arrow, grappling hook as his way to move across rooftops and use stealth to overcome the toughest situations. And it’s not just the ghosts and demons trying to stop Akito from succeeding; Tokyo itself will get twisted and corrupted to mess with our hero’s mind.

Ghostwire: Tokyo arrives March 25, officially, on PlayStation 5 (where it will be a one-year console exclusive) and Windows PC. Early access to the game on March 22 is available through Ghostwire: Tokyo’s Deluxe Edition.

The team behind Danganronpa has announced a new dark fantasy game

Danganronpa recently celebrated 11 years since the first video game in the series, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, was released in Japan. The series went onto become a huge franchise spawning manga, anime, graphic novels, and even a stage play.

Now, the team behind the games has announced a new dark fantasy game, titled Enigma Archives: Rain Code.

Enigma Archives: Rain Code

Not a lot of information has been releasing regarding the upcoming game Enigma Archives: Rain Code, however, a teaser site is already up and running for fans to explore from its developer, Spike Chunsoft. It is stated on the website that Enigma Archives: Rain Code will give players a “dark fantasy mystery” experience and even offers a teaser trailer that shows key visuals from the game.

It is clear from all the visuals given that this particular game inspired by Danganronpa will take on the iconic visualisation from its predecessor, unlike the previous games inspired by the dark adventure game series. The key visuals hints at spooky ghosts, pink blood, and long, ominous dark cloaks will be involved in the game. However, It is unclear from what we have seen whether Enigma Archives: Rain Code will follow the same gameplay mechanics as Danganronpa.

We also see a glimpse of our main protagonist and heroine in the trailer- a small boy with pink hair worn in the ‘idiot hair’ style common to all three Danganronpa games’ protagonists, and a tall girl with even pinker hair, an elaborate gothic dress, and horns.

The teaser trailer also reveals that Danganronpa’s creator and scenerio director Kazutaka Kodaka will be writing the story for Enigma Archives: Rain Code, Masafumi Takada will be composing the soundtrack, and Rui Komatsuzaki will be designing the characters.

Nothing else has been released regarding the new game, yet it is easy to say Danganronpa fans will be excited for this announcement.

The shooting game based on Greek Mythology is receiving a push pack

PiXEL has announced that its game Wing of Asteria has been delayed.

Originally announced in 2020, the shoot ’em up game takes from Greek Mythology and was expected to be released for 2021, yet has sadly been pushed back to being released in 2022. No reason was given as to why, but it is expected the global pandemic has affected production like most games.

Wing of Asteria

PiXEL will be bringing WIng of Asteria to Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be a side-scrolling shoot ’em game based on Greek myths as stated above (finally, my degree comes in handy) and already has notable people working on the development of the game.

Shujirou Hamakawa, who is behind some classic, Japanese games such as TwinBee, as well as credit for some popular anime titles like High School DxD, Code Geass, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, will be a character designer for the game. Yoshinori Kawamoto is also signed up for WIng of Asteria as its composer, who is part of the Bandai Namco Studios Sound Team that have worked on games such as Star Fox Assult, Burning Force, and Tekken 7. They, along with the rest of the development team, will be bringing a brand new story with unique characters, scenery, and creatures in Wing of Asteria.

It is unknown whether the game will be released in additional languages other than Japanese for the time being, but an international date being announced later down the line is most likely.

Some character designs have already been released and their descriptions have already been translated thanks to Gematsu.
