Unfortunately, it looks like HBO’s adaptation of the hit game will not be hitting screens any time soon.

A recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter had HBO programming president Casey Bloys confirm that The Last of Us is “shooting right now in Canada” but will not be airing in 2022. “We have not announced an air date yet,” Bloys clarified, to the dismay of fans who were hoping to see the show air this year.

The Last of Us began filming in July 2021, and is expected to end in June 2022.

This led many fans to believe that a late 2022 premier could have been possible. It seems, however, that they’ll have to wait it out for another year.

The Last of Us is the first project undertaken by PlayStation Productions.

PlayStation Productions was founded by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019, in order to adapt PlayStation franchises into movies and television shows. There will be a total of ten episodes for the first season, and the show will be the first HBO series to be based on a Video Game.

In other news regarding game-based film productions, the Uncharted movie has already premiered in select territories and will be showing in many more countries this coming weekend. With a $120 million budget, the movie adaptation has reportedly generated more than $21 million in its opening weekend. The star-studded cast includes Tom Holland, who is most well known for his performance as Spider-Man.

Dead by daylight is well known for its crossovers with popular horror franchises, the most recent of which being the addition of the Cenobyte Pinhead from the hellraiser movies. However its next crossover may have already leaked online.

Current rumors circulating online speculate the games next chapter is going to go by the name “the crows nest” and after that chapter 23 is going to be based on the Conjuring film franchise by “Saw” Director James Wan. The Films are Fictionalised versions (often heavily fictionalised) of the lives of Ed and Lorain Warren, A real life couple who would travel the world dealing with supposed supernatural occurrences. As to which entities from the franchise would make their way into Dead by Daylight, it is currently unclear, although from the possessed doll Annabelle to the Demonic Nun Valak, there are plenty of potential candidates.

With all this having been said, the leak has yet to be officially confirmed by any sources tied to the game, so at this point this is all purely speculation. This may all be Fake, and so fans of both Dead By Daylight and The Conjuring should take this with a grain of salt.

So far, Dead By Daylight has crossed over with numerouse horror Movies and Games, Such as Halloween, Stranger things, Nightmare on Elm Street and even Resident Evil. of course there are also some maybe more obvious Horror Icons that have Evaded the game, such as Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th, who instead has appeared in his own asymmetric multiplayer game.

Tyrese Gibson, who is famously known for being in films such as the Fast and Fast franchise has announced his return as Sergeant Robert Epps in Transformers: The Last Knight. It was confirmed as the actor posted a photograph of himself on his Instagram alongside director Michael Bay. The photograph can be seen below:

Gibson appeared in the first three movies as Sergeant Robert Epps, however he did not have a role in the 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theatres on June 23^rd, 2017 and will mark the return of Decepticon Leader Megatron. If you are interested and support the Autobot side, have a first look of the new Autobot ‘Squeaks’.

Official Ghostbusters Board Game

The iconic comic design is put in to board game form. How exciting!

Yesterday it was announced, by game developer Cryptozoic, that a crowd funded Ghostbusters board game is in the pipeline and is running now on Kickstarter. Huzzah! The game will feature “ghosts from the movies, cartoons, comics, and toylines.”

The Ghostbusters Kickstarter runs until 11th March 2015, but given the current funding amount, it looks like they’re on track to hit the $250,000 goal way before that. And why not?! Ghostbusters is awesome! Cryptozoic is keeping things simple with pledge levels – $80 (plus shipping) will get you the base game plus stretch goals. The $125 (plus shipping) level includes a custom box along with the base game, additional episodes, and some other backer-exclusives items. I think I know which one I’d go for… Exclusive items all the way!

Campaigns for the miniatures-focused game will take between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the difficulty that has been selected. The game’s figures design comes from IDW Ghostbusters’ comics illustrator Dan Schoening. The board game is still an officially licensed project, so you will take on the oh so familiar roles of Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman, and Winston Zeddemore. You can fight those ghastly ghouls Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and ride around in the iconic Ecto-1. Nothing short of brilliant!

The game has been said to ship this October 2015, but Cryptozoic has given this forewarning – “Please keep in mind that this is a projected date. As an experienced board game company, we at Cryptozoic know that unexpected delays can occur during the production and shipping of a game. … In the highly unlikely event that we are not able to deliver the game for some unforeseeable, calamitous reason, we will refund all pledges.”

It seems that it’s not just an amazing year for video games, but for board games too.. And what could more could you want (hopefully) in time for Halloween?!
