With the PSVR2 announced, we are doubtless about to be inundated with news and leaks about games that might be coming to the system. However, one of these rumors, Coming from an industry insider, Hints that Valves “Half Life: Alyx” may be making its way to the system.

According to XboxEra co-founder and co-host Nick Baker on twitter, Sony and Valve are working on a deal to bring the critically acclaimed Half life Alyx to PSVR2. According to baker, the deal is an “open Secret”, but they also do not know when the game will be available.

For those looing for Validity in these claims, Baker has proven to be Trustworthy in the past, with him predicting Insomniac where working on another Marvel PS Exclusive (which turned out to be wolverine) and also revealing the May 2021 PSPlus game lineup before the official announcement.

As of Right now, Half Life Alyx available only for PC systems and, being a VR game, only to people ho have a headset. That having been said, PC is different to console in that no store-owner on PC has ever really relied on pushing “Exclusives” in the same way Console manufacturers have, to the point where PC isn’t really seen as a competitor to Console anymore as much as it is a new avenue

It also would not be out of the question for valve to put their first party games on systems they dont own. Their biggest franchises (Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, Etc) have all been put on consoles at one point or another. Another reason that HL: Alyx had not made the jump to the original PSVR was the devices power and its controller. The Initial PSVR headset is fine, but maybe the PS4 would not have been able to keep up with the Intense Visuals of Half Life Alyx, and also the headset used a normal Dualshock 4 to control the games. Given that Alyx makes use of extensive Hand controls, It would have made the game incredibly difficult to work around into being on the PSVR.

As for the Half-Life series, Valve dev Robin Walker has implied the series will continue, although in what form it will take, be it Half-Life 3 or a rumored Spinoff designed specifically for the Steam Deck, is currently unclear.

Sony have officially confirmed that a sequel headset to the PSVR is on the way, unsurprisingly dubbed the PSVR2 (personally I was holding out for the PSVitR… geddit? Like… like Ps Vita… god I need to be shot).

Probably the bigger news is that the Headset will launch alongside the PSVR2 Sense Controller, which is a big deal. The original PSVR was a fine headset, but its biggest holdback was that it lacked a specific controller to play games with. Every other major headset has their own controllers which work with motion controles to simulate your hands in VR, however the PSVR chose instead to just use the Dualshock 4 controller. This limited the kinds of games that could be put on the platform, and also lowered the immersion of the experience. The PSVR2 Sense controllers, however, are much more inline with the kinds of controllers you get with something like an Oculus Quest or Valve Index.

The Sense controller will have some legs up on most of the competition, however. With it featuring Haptic Feedback and adaptive triggers, the Controller will be comparable in many ways to the Valve Index Controller, which is the Gold standard of VR controllers right now (along with, honestly, the entire Valve index just being the best VR headset out there)

While its unlikely the PSVR2 will top the Valve Index in pure power, it doesn’t need to as it is a proprietary addon to the PlayStation and doesn’t have to compete with other companies like Valve does on PC with HTC’s Vive headset and Metas Oculus Platform.

Alongside this, PlayStation also Unveiled Horizon call of the mountain, a VR spinoff to the hugely popular Horizon Franchise.

While the actual headset has not been shown off yet, Sony did unveil some specs for the headset, including that it would feature OLED screens with a resolution of 2000 X2040 per eye, and also that the device would be capable of a 90Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, allowing for Higher FPS and deeper immersion. He headset will use IR cameras for tracking rather than Base stations and lasers, which will keep costs down for people looking to get into the product, as well as the headset featuring six-axis Motion sensing.

Sony announced the new PlayStation 4 Slim and the PlayStation 4 Pro at their conference last night.

As expected, the PlayStation 4 Slim was revealed last night. The PlayStation 4 Slim is a more practical versions of the original PlayStation 4, it is a smaller console with all of the same capabilities as the previous PlayStation. The PlayStation 4 Slim will also offer HDR and be available for only £259. Unlike the Xbox One S, the PlayStation 4 Slim will not support 4K output.

Say hello to the new #PS4. It’s slimmer & lighter than the original version, but just as pretty. #PlayStationMeeting pic.twitter.com/mk11wd2jSq

— PlayStation UK (@PlayStationUK) September 7, 2016

What was previously code-named the PlayStation Neo, has finally been given a name when it was revealed last night. The PlayStation 4 Pro will launch November 10 and cost £349. (Cheaper than we anticipated!)

The PlayStation 4 Pro will be a 4.2 teraflop machine and will support 4K gaming for all of the gamers with compatible TV’s. The PS4 Pro will also support 4K video streaming but not 4K Blu-ray support.

All of the games released for PlayStation now will be both playable on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro so developers will have the option of whether to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s 4K power or just use enhanced 1080p graphics.

The two new consoles are more powerful than the original PS4 so they come as better consoles to be able to support the PlayStation VR.

The PlayStation 4 Slim, the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR will all be available to purchase before Christmas.
