Any fans of Alien: Isolation out there? If you really enjoyed the suspenseful horror inspired by the hit film franchise, well we’ve certainly got some good news for you. The lead designer of Alien Isolation has now joined Rare to lead the design team working on Everwild.

For those unfamiliar with the upcoming game, it is being produced by British studio Rare which is currently owned by Microsoft. What we know exactly about the game is vague, but it looks to be an emergent MMO – framed in a fantasy universe. The producers of Sea Of Thieves will hope to have another smash hit on their hands here.

However, it looks like we’re finally getting some more updates on the game. Gary Napper confirmed this week that he will be taking on the role of design director which will have fans even more excited.

“Thrilled to announce that today I joined Rare as design director on Everwild,” Napper confirmed. “Really looking forward to making some amazing things with this incredible team and studio.”

Despite this, it has been reported that the project has had a turbulent lifespan thus far. Before delving into that though, have a quick look at the announcement trailer below:

Everwild Production Hoping To Improve With Latest Addition

Earlier this year, it was reported that Everwild had to be ‘completely rebooted’ after its creative director left the scene. As such, gamers started to become worried that the game may fall into the doomed pit of ‘what if’ games.

It started to became apparent something was wrong when it was a notable absentee from the Xbox and Bethesda showcase at E3 2021. This was especially the case as Rare showed off new trailers for the game at Microsoft’s events beforehand.

Unfortunately, things went from bad to worse as we were informed that the creative directors departure meant the game needed to take a completely different direction. As a result, it is believed that it will be several years until we’re able to get our hands on the title.

Xbox game studios boss Matt Booty was asked in October about the game’s current situation. This is what he had to say:

“When you look at it from the outside, when you hear words like reset and maybe restructure, I’ll just say that those are probably a little more definite and a little more extreme than what really happens as a game comes to life.They’re just trying to make sure that they’ve got something special. We’ve shown kind of a glimpse of a world, you’ve seen the art style that the team has got, but we want to get it right.”

Starting out on choppy seas but growing into a well-liked High seas adventure, Sea of thieves has grown a lot since its initial launch back in march of 2018. The game has seen constant work and improvements with rare, most recently a crossover with pirates of the caribbean and season 4 adding Siren Shrines. Now, With season 5 looming on the horizon, Rare has released a Full trailer to key up your scurvy dogs on what’s coming to the game soon.

Sea of thieves had already been teasing some stuff to come through their twitter account. Videos were posted that teased the Ability for players to bury their hard earned loot, and for ships to be able to set off signal flares for players adventuring on islands. The new, 8 minute trailer for season 5 gives much more detail on all the new features coming to the game later this week, as well as showing off a bunch of new cosmetics.

The full trailer details all the new content coming to sea of thieves with the launch of its fifth season on december 2nd, being headlined by the above mention of Burried treasure. Players will be able to bury their treasure on the game’s many islands for storage and for other players to discover. This creates a treasure map, and rewards the person who hid the treasure if another player finds it. The update will also add fireworks and flares, which will be useful for players looking to get into the season’s festive spirit, or send messages to crewmates.

Other major additions include a continuation of the games crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean, With a Skin based on series antagonist-turned-anti-hero Hector Barbossa. The Game also features Festive and party themed cosmetics for players, and some Gorgeous new sales such as the “boreal Aurora” set, which turns a ship’s sales into a design based on the northern lights.

Since moving to the popular Seasonal Content Schedule last year, Sea of thieves has had a constant stream of content throughout 2021, with rare adding Several new features through the year, Including season 3’s crossover with pirates of the Caribbean with the ability to have Captain Jack sparrow as a fully functional crew mate.

Sea of thieves has remained on of the most popular open world games in 2021, and season 5 looks like it will help boost the already huge game.

Halo infinites Multiplayer component dropped a few weeks back now, and its campaign is coming in just a couple more. With that in Mind, Rare have decided to add a ship to their Pirate MMO sea of thieves, which will be free to all players.

As shared by the games official Twitter account, people logging into the game between now and December 1st at 8AM GMT will get a free spartan themed ship set. The cosmetics feature the iconic green of the master chief’s armour, as well as a figurehead of the chief himself.

Sea of thieves had a bit of a rocky launch but has been growing back at a rapid rate recently. The game received an expansion called “a pirates life” earlier this year which featured characters from pirates of the Caribbean, including the Iconic jack sparrow.
