
Starting out on choppy seas but growing into a well-liked High seas adventure, Sea of thieves has grown a lot since its initial launch back in march of 2018. The game has seen constant work and improvements with rare, most recently a crossover with pirates of the caribbean and season 4 adding Siren Shrines. Now, With season 5 looming on the horizon, Rare has released a Full trailer to key up your scurvy dogs on what’s coming to the game soon.
Sea of thieves had already been teasing some stuff to come through their twitter account. Videos were posted that teased the Ability for players to bury their hard earned loot, and for ships to be able to set off signal flares for players adventuring on islands. The new, 8 minute trailer for season 5 gives much more detail on all the new features coming to the game later this week, as well as showing off a bunch of new cosmetics.
The full trailer details all the new content coming to sea of thieves with the launch of its fifth season on december 2nd, being headlined by the above mention of Burried treasure. Players will be able to bury their treasure on the game’s many islands for storage and for other players to discover. This creates a treasure map, and rewards the person who hid the treasure if another player finds it. The update will also add fireworks and flares, which will be useful for players looking to get into the season’s festive spirit, or send messages to crewmates.
Other major additions include a continuation of the games crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean, With a Skin based on series antagonist-turned-anti-hero Hector Barbossa. The Game also features Festive and party themed cosmetics for players, and some Gorgeous new sales such as the “boreal Aurora” set, which turns a ship’s sales into a design based on the northern lights.
Since moving to the popular Seasonal Content Schedule last year, Sea of thieves has had a constant stream of content throughout 2021, with rare adding Several new features through the year, Including season 3’s crossover with pirates of the Caribbean with the ability to have Captain Jack sparrow as a fully functional crew mate.
Sea of thieves has remained on of the most popular open world games in 2021, and season 5 looks like it will help boost the already huge game.
