Well, I’ll start with a small introduction, shall I?

My name is Tamara, I’m 24 years old. I work at Go2games as a Graphic Designer; It’s my responsibility to create product posts and memes for social media platforms and creating unique and eye-catching visuals.

In the first half of the day, I focused on creating eyecatching posts of products Go2games have to offer. Here is an example of one previous post I created:

When it comes to creating this kind of post the first thing I tend to focus on is using a border that will help catch people’s attention. To give the whole image a more ‘gaming’ type of feel. I decided on a pixel type of border using the signature Go2Games colours; Blue & Purple. Then after designing the border, the next thing to do is add a background, as a plain white background can get somewhat boring after seeing it over and over and the goal is to choose a colour that can not only relate to the game but it can also catch the attention of its audience.

So in this case, No More Heroes 3 was the main focus of this post, so I decided on adding a shadow behind the gaming case to give it a 3D effect and settled on the colour purple as it helped flatter the colours used in the game. But just using a plain purple background wouldn’t be enough to make it stand out so with the help of a colleague, he was able to design a background that gave an ombre effect, showing off different shades of purple which made the background more pleasing to the human eye.

So now that the game had its own unique way to stand out plus the simple but effective background, all that was left was to add the appropriate text to entice its viewers to purchase this product and of course, adding our signature Go2Games Logo so viewers know exactly where to purchase the product, my job was almost done.

The last step in the Product Post process is for me is to upload the completed version and then contact our very own social media team, who hold the responsibility of posting what I create. Once they have a look and I’ve given the okay. My job is done and I move on to the next product post that was assigned to me. I will work on this for the majority of the day unless I have been assigned another task.

That’s just a rough idea of what I get up to during a workday at Go2Games.

Hello my fellow readers and welcome back to my blog!

Let me fill you in on what went down this week…

PREVIOUSLY ON @go2games

Like every morning, I woke up to a bright sunny day and started getting ready to make my way to the shop (Find us in Croydon Centrale). As every Monday has been starting, we had our weekly meeting. Discussing what’s been working well, what we can do to improve, trends and overall what is happening this week.

Highlights for this week was; game of the week – Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Summerfest and E3 which was covered in 60second news and Inside streamers.

When we was finished with the meetings, me and Teniel, who is very creative and lovely, went to watch the guys film Inside streamers and filmed behind the scene footage which we used to put up across the social medias we are managing.

After all of that, we moved on to the next piece of content we needed for TikTok. As the Euro 2020…(2021 cough cough) are taking place as we speak, that was the theme for the TikTok video. The boys decide what football team is going to beat who that match and whoever lost had to do a challenge out the bag.

After an eventful day, I headed to do some shopping and headed home to prepare posts that was scheduled for that day whilst enjoying the sunshine before the UK switched up and started thunderstorms.

For the rest of my busy week, I worked on getting the new Go2Games game ready for Friday. For this week, it’s who’s that shadow female edition. This is where our followers have to guess what female silhouette that is from the picture. Yes, video game related of course. After that, I started gathering images for next weeks game which is male edition.

For the remaining of the week, I was uploading scheduled posts, thinking of more ideas to build engagement across Instagram and Snapchat. Snapchat has recently been doing well with having people add us, viewing our content that is being uploaded and, having people actually message which has been good.

As you’ve probably seen here, Tamagotchi is making a comeback but in a smartwatch version, which I think is so cool and can’t wait for it to launch.

Where to begin.

My name is Tanisha. I’m 23 years old and, I am a social media administrator. Working on social media platforms such as; Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.

Today consisted of uploading the correct content that is scheduled for the day. The first post of the day was 60 seconds news.

This covers important highlights in the gaming community along with what’s happening within the Go2Games community. With this, I make sure to add a heading indicating what topics this post is, a small paragraph or two, some emojis (because they’re cute and who doesn’t like emojis), and hashtags. After that is uploaded, I then share either a picture or short snippet to Snapchat to pull the audience on there to watch our content on Instagram.

When it comes to uploading posts it’s important for me to go through and find key points relevent  to apply them to the hashtags, a short heading, adjusting thumbnail covers and I have been testing and researching to see what hours are the best times/ when our audience are more lively to build up engagement.

Watching the whacky content that comes through made by the boys truly make me laugh and is great way to pull in our target audience. I think my favourite videos they have done so far is Toby dressed up as Toad from Super Mario and just raging about games being…well… I think the video can do the talking. You can find that on Instagram.

When I’ve uploaded the first post for the day, I go and get whatever else needs to be posted and draft it. I have a bunch of captions for posts so I go ahead and adjust them.

I currently have been working in two hour slots. So for example, If I post at 10AM, I get whatever else needs to go up within the next two hours which will be 12PM. In the gaps I usually go through Instastories, chill out, find fun ways to increase engagement. I currently made a game last Friday where our followers had to answer 10 questions about games and see how many they could get right. It boosted interactive engagement completely. We had about over 100 people interact with the game which was really good.

After a day of posting I then have a little look to see what has to be uploaded for tomorrow and download it to my phone so it’s ready to be posted in the morning.

And, that’s all my work day done.
