This digital board-game will be arriving on the PS4 this September 2015, and has a Game of Thrones air about it!

The director and founder of League of Geeks, Trent Kusters, announced yesterday on the PlayStation Blog that this brand new and exciting digital board-game will coming to the PS4 in September 2015. Here is what he had to say about it..

“After our successful Kickstarter campaign and a solid stint on Early Access, Armello’s community has helped us hone the game into the unique, polished and deeply thoughtful experience it is today,” Trent Kusters has said. “However, we’ve also been secretly working away on a PlayStation version of Armello that uses every inch of the console, with brand new high end assets, redesigned UI and controls specifically designed to ensure feels right at home on PS4.”

The game “thrusts players into a Game of Thrones-esque struggle for power” in a board-game like style. The are eight animal heroes which the player can chose from, to battle enemies and, finally, fight to gain the throne!

Armello is expected to launch in full on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux this September.

Worlds Adrift

The new open-world adventure game from Bossa Studios

Worlds Adrift is the brand new open-world and atmospheric adventure game from Surgeon Simulator developer, Bossa Studios. They gave the news earlier this month when their debut title, Surgeon Simulator, reached 2m in sales. The team announced their new game on it’s website last week and are also in the midst of developing it’s Steam Early Access release and upcoming mobile effort, I Am Bread! I think we’re all looking forward to that one as well!

Producer, Herb Liu, has spoken on the matter – “One thing that’s always been really important to the vision of the game is the atmosphere. Lots of things contribute to how you feel when you’re in a game, but perhaps none more than the art style.”

“Besides stylizing everything with low poly counts and flat colours, we’re trying to make sure the soft dynamic lighting gives Worlds an illustrated feel. You’ll see in the video the day/night cycle gives the environment a different feel during the day and compared with the night. The game will also definitely play differently depending on the time of day.”

Ninja Theory’s 2015 game is coming to Windows PC

Ninja Theory studio co-founder, Tameem Antoniades, has told PC Gamer that they will be bringing their latest action game ‘Hellblade’ to Windows PC. 

“I think PC offers us a level of freedom that we haven’t had before,” said Antoniades. “We’re looking at everything we do on this project and figuring out better ways of doing things compared to how the traditional AAA console model works. And consoles are following suit with PC, but I think they’re years behind what things like Steam are doing.”

This news is following last year’s announcement of the game being brought first to the PS4. Platform restrictions imposed by console makers like Microsoft and Sony have previously hindered the studio’s ability to quickly tweak and playtest ‘Hellblade’, according to Antoniades. He also stated that Ninja Theory plan to make the game mod-friendly, with support for both developer and player-created modifications. Although it is still unclear on how the Windows PC version of the game will differ from the PS4 version.

“I think we want to get to the point where we can invite players and fans to add to the game, and do things that are unexpected, and suggest ideas or add-ons that can make the game richer,” Antoniades has said.

 Rebel Galaxy for PS4 and PC
The brand spanking new game, uncovered by former Diablo devs…

Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, two ex-Diablo and Torchlight developers, have announced Rebel Galaxy (an open-world space survival game) for the PS4 and Windows PC! The game has been developed by Double Damage Games, which is a new studio co-founded by Baldree and Schaefer.

Baldree shed further light on the game, explaining that it WON’T include multi-player and that it shall cost somewhere “in the downloadable title price range”.

Rebel Galaxy sounds awesome.. You get to pilot your own ship and can choose from either being a mercenary, trader, pirate or rogue hero, in an attempt to survive in a sandbox universe. As well as this, the game offers a faction system. This is connected to player actions and conversation-based choices too.

Double Damage also enlighten us with the news that Rebel Galaxy will be available at some point in the upcoming year, via Steam, and will “maybe” become available to the Xbox One.
