The new update for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla releases on September 7 and is the first update the game has received in over 2 months.

Ubisoft Montreal teased fans yesterday for what they could expect from update 1.3.1 and the developers have certainly put out all the stops to keep the game relevant, especially for hardcore fans.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla 1.3.1. Update

The 1.3.1 update is the first of two updates between the Seige of Paris DLC and the Discovery Tour: Viking Age expansion that is set to be released later this year. The 1.3.2 update is set to arrive before then, however, Ubisoft Montreal hasn’t given any details about what it might contain.

Yet the 1.3.1 update will include an entirely new difficulty mode called “Nightmare”, set to challenge players that have gone through the game on the current highest difficulty mode, “Master Assassin”.

There will also be more content for River Raids, a series of repeatable missions designed to reward players with exclusive gear and treasure. Part of the new River Raids content includes 3 new Rivers, new rewards, new 3 new abilities to be added.

It was also teased that the protagonist Evior might be receiving new abilities and gear for players while they explore the British Isles, as well as new weapons and gear that might include a short sword.

Mario Golf: Super Rush adds a free DLC to up the anty in this swingin’ game.

Mario Golf: Super Rush has only been out for just over a month and it has now received its first DLC with promising new updates!

The DLC is free for everyone to download and includes a new character, a new course, and a new gameplay mode for players to enjoy.

Mario Golf: Super Rush Ver. 2.0.0

Toadette has joined the roster which brings the game’s total number of playable characters up to 17. She is a control-type golfer and her special move is called Super Pickax Stinger. She has the most control of all the characters that are playable, however, has the lowest power. She is recommended for those who want to hit the ball exactly where they want it to go, one shot at a time.

The new DLC also adds the seventh course to the game, set in New Donk City from Super Mario Odyssey, with 18 holes. Players have to rebound the ball off the buildings in order for it to reach the hole. There are two difficulty levels to choose from, “Amateur” and “Pro”, making the tees and greens of all the holes completely different.

And finally, there is a new Ranked Match gameplay mode, which lets players take part in ranked games online for new rewards. The goal is to improve your global ranking from “C-” to “S+” based on the number of monthly match points you accumulate from the results of your matches. If there are only a few opponents available when online, you will be matched up even if there is some rank difference, but there is a handicap where higher ranked players will be behind you on the tee. If you can beat a higher-ranked player, a bonus will be added to your monthly match points.

Some of the rewards include the ability to choose different colours for Yoshi.

Nintendo has promised there will be more updates coming later this year and with developers like Camelot, it could be a similar case to their other sporting classic, Super Mario Aces, where the game is constantly receiving free updates to keep players coming back.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has quietly received a patch update for PS5 that fans will love…

Labelled as V2.01, Shadow of the Tomb Raider‘s new update allows players to experience the game at 4K 60 FPS on PS5.

This is the first patch update Square Enix has given the sequel of the rebooted franchise since 2019, demonstrating the company always puts great effort into ensuring patches last a long time. The Tomb Raider franchise itself has always had long shelf lives, as Shadow of the Tomb Raider was originally released in 2018.

Previously, Shadow of the Tomb Raider was unable to support 4K at high frame rate in high resolution mode for any of the next-gen consoles, as playing with one enhancement would negate the other. 60 FPS was achieveable at 1080p while 4K was achievable at 30 FPS- similar to most backward-compatiable games.

However, this latest patch makes it so players no longer have to choose between which mode to use as the game will enable both simultantiously on PS5.

The enhancement boosts aren’t restricted to PS5 either. Xbox One enhancment boosts suffered simiarly to that of PS5. Now, Xbox Series X/S have also given Shadow of the Tomb Raider a FPS and resolution improvment and the game is currently listed with an optimisation label in the official store.

A new patch has just landed for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PC and it’s what the players have been waiting for…

Ubisoft stealthily released an update that allows players to use the PS5 DuelSense Controller when playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PC.

Update for DuelSense Controllers

The DuelSense Controllers have been one of the big success stories in regards to the PS5, with its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback that provide tension when you’re drawing a bow or pulling a cord – perfect for Valhalla fans. It immerses the players into the game and was made compatible with PC games at the end of last year.

Initially, there was no support for PC games until Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition added a patch to support the controller in May, enabling the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback for firing guns to make firefights a more satisfying experience.

For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it means when a player aims a bow, the adaptive trigger will stop halfway, requiring a further pull to actually fire. Players will need to have the controller connected via its cable to get the benefit and is the only benefit with the DuelSense Controller, but it will certainly be worth it.

Future of Patches for PC Games

Hopefully, this new update suggests that the support of the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback will be added to further titles. Yet it is hard to say how far into the future that may be as it took time for both the Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla support to come through, seeing as the controller dropped November 2020.
