Pikmin Bloom launches in the UK

Nintendo and Niantic, best known for pokemon GO, have just release Pikmin Bloom, a “Walking game” in the UK and europe.

The game launched last week in Australia and Singapoor last week, with it coming to the US and canada not long after. With this latest part of the rollout, however, the game is now available in the UK, Europe, Korea, Taiwan and many other countries as outlined in this Availability list from Niantic.

The game is basically a Gamified version of a step counter. You plant seeds, and with every step you take IRL, the game grows your pikmin a little, until you have them pop out of the ground. This is a simple concept but is great idea to help get people active, especially after coming up on 2 years of sitting at home watching TV thanks to Covid.

Are you a newcomer to Nintendo‘s Pikmin games looking for a helping hand?

Are you looking forward to successfully unlocking all sorts of cool stuff?

Is your one and only experience with the series before now through Olimar in Smash?

Well CONGRATULATIONS because we’re in the exact same boat, but I’ll do my best to help you out here. So, basically look at me like Windette, only instead of explaining things in insults, I’ll be explaining things in self-deprecating non-sequitur one-liners… Sometimes I feel like an oval vampire burlap!

Pikmin Bloom is the latest AR (Augmented Reality) game by Niantic, WHICH I MUST SAY should have been called “Nyantic” for catboy reasons. Players can find and grow their own Pikmin which you can order around to go on adventures or grow more seedlings that let you expand your ever-growing army of floral-minion cuteness. Think Pokemon Go, but for hipsters LIKE ME!

You can earn fruit in-game that are tasty-looking, though your mileage may vary in terms of their different effects on you personally… JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE!

How to Grow Pikmin in Pikmin Go- I mean Bloom:

It can take anything between 1,000 to 10,000 steps because of reasons, said reasons depending on what kind of Pikmin you want to grow. Red and Blue bois take about a thousand steps because they’re commoners, whereas the purple-clad bourgeois ones are worth more because they’re less common.

The bigger the seed, the longer you have to wait to grow a Pikmin, as they contain rarer Pikmin and require up to 10,000 steps to hatch. Big seed release ‘Decor Pikmin’ that are the big valuable collectibles because these ones can cop drip fashion like Slick Goku. Gotta catch em all, I suppose.

And while I have ya, I’m guessing you’re a possible Pikmin fan if you’re reading this, so feel free to have a butcher’s at our store if you want to get your hands on Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition and other such titles.

Each of these types have different Pokemon style evolution stages. The leaf on a Pikmin’s head turns into a bud, then a flower once it reaches maturity in some yonic semi-Freudian metaphor for ssssssseeing how they grow up so fast.

Pikmin Bloom: New Niantic App Launched Today

The new app from Niantic and Nintendo launches officially today!

We only just got the name for the new Niantic app inspired by the Pikmin video game series, yet the game launches globally today.

Niantic and Nintendo have teamed up to make a series of apps similar to their success of Pokemon GO and the first app is titled Pikmin Bloom, which features the plant-like creatures from the puzzle-solving game and garden strategy series, Pikmin.

Pikmin Bloom

The main aim of Pimkim Bloom is to leave a trail of flower petals behind you as you walk, to make the world a prettier place. The player will have a finite amount of petals, which can be topped up by sending Pikmin out to find and bring back fruit. This can then be fed to your Pikmin as nectar, which makes them grow new petals for you to collect.

Just like Pokemon GO, the game will encourage players to exercise more by making them go outside and walk. You can even unlock bonus content with higher step counts for shoots that hatch Decor Pikmin, who wear cute costumes. These can be tied to certain locations and businesses you might encounter.

Players will also be able to take photos on their walk and save them in their Lifelog- a dairy hat stores the number of steps you’ve taken each day.

There was already a beta version available on Test Flight in Singapore, yet today marks the official launch date for the AR app.

Currently, Pikmin Bloom is available in Australia and Singapore on the iOS App Store and Google Play, and we can expect it to arrive in Europe soon thanks to a tweet from the official Nintendo account.

Pikmin: Title for Niantic’s App Has Been Released

The half-plant, the half-animal creatures are coming to VR this year and we are now one step closer…

Earlier this year, the Pokemon GO creator Niantic announced it would be collaborating with Nintendo in a new partnership that sees the two companies create a series of apps together and continue to blend real-world AR tech with Nintendo’s beloved characters.

The companies revealed the first app that will be released in the series is an AR game based on the Pikmin video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto and published by Nintendo. It’s also going to be the first game released by Niantic Tokyo Studio that was first established back in 2018.

And now, Niantic released (or rather, it got leaked) the title for the Pikmin smartphone game.

The Pikmin series sees players solve puzzles and strategies in real-time as you direct a horde of plant-like creatures called Pikmin, in order to collect items by destroying obstacles, avoiding hazards and fighting hazardous fauna.

The smartphone game for the franchise will be titled, Pikmin Bloom. There is still no release date, yet Nintendo and Niantic confirmed in August that they were still planning to release the game by the end of this year.

The title was leaked on Twitter, thanks to the name being added to the Test Flight version of the app on iOS. For those that aren’t aware, Test Flight is Apple’s system of allowing app developers to grant access to beta versions of an app to testers and reviewers.

It was also announced earlier this year that Niantic would be shutting down its Catan: World Explorers AR app based on the popular board game after not doing as well as Pokemon GO or Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in its Early Access stage. While it is indeed sad, we hope these new series of apps made by Niantic and Nintendo won’t receive the same fate.
