Who’s ready to get killing the Justice League? Never thought I’d say that, but there we are. Rocksteady have just revealed a trailer for their upcoming adventure game Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and we’ve finally received some game play. It’s about time!

Once again, it was The Game Awards which treated us with a plethora of trailers to delve into. It never disappoints. In this preview, we get a more up close look at the four playable characters: King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot. It starts with Captain Boomerang comically taunting the Flash, then simply breaks out into a free-for-all action montage, things we just love to see.

Rocksteady Confirm Suicide Squad Is Set In Arkhamverse

What’d we all think of that then? Personally, I can’t wait to see what Rockstar have in store for us. It looks like its going to be a great mixture of brash banter and fast-paced action sequences. Interestingly, it is quite difficult to believe that this is set in the same universe as the Arkham games. The stark contrast in mood and atmosphere will be an interesting path for Rockstar, a test they certainly hope they’ll live up to.

“The game is a hybrid of Rocksteady’s experience in bringing characters like Batman to life combined with really powerful, awesome gunplay,” creative director Sefton Hill told DC FanDome attendees after Suicide Squad’s reveal in August 2020. “Each [character] has a richer move set, more things you can do, and more skill required to master them than you even had with Batman. It’s really about creating a whole spectrum of possibilities for the player to use.”

The London-based developer definitely have our interests peaked. Whilst the open world of the gritty Gotham in Arkham Knight was fantastic, it’ll be nice to have a change and explore the sunnier Metropolis.

Before we get into the news, STORY TIME! I found out about this news from another journalist and his thumbnail included a perfectly harmless U-Rated innocent poster featuring all the Justice League heroes.

I didn’t know it was entirely family-friendly at first though, because on first glance, Superman looked like he… Well… I’ll try not to put any ideas in your head, but TELL ME THAT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE A… You know… A dinglehopper, as Ariel might say! A steak and two-Tackleberries! That thing that shares a name with the popular Blaxploitation-era crime film originally starring Richard Rountree in 1971! Or as Ben Shapiro would probably say, “the private D-word who’s a sex-machine to all the c-words”.

Back to the news! Dreams is a game designed by folks at Media Molecule (the makers of Little Big Planet) where players can make their own games and play the games of others. For any Avatar The Last Airbender fans reading, turns out gameplay for a Dreams-made Avatar game has released, that’s neat!

Besides rumors of a potential Superman game being in the works, Warner Bros hasn’t confirmed any plans for a AAA game in the same ballpark of production as say, the Marvel’s Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy games (psst, which we have!).

So in this mini DC Superhero gaming drought, Redditteer u/TheRedProphett rolled up their sleeves one day and said “fine, I’ll do it myself” before sharing a video of his Justice League game project. You can view the video of the incomplete game footage here. While the environment and enemies are simple placeholder templates, giving Superman, Batman and Wonderwoman unique move-sets and stable physics for capes and clothes are extremely impressive for any lone game developer.

Rocksteady Games has, in the meantime, announced plans for the game Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which will allegedly feature the classic superhero team as the antagonists to Harley Quinn’s Suicide Squad. In my headcanon, this move was inspired by one of the CEOs or developers seeing their kid play LEGO DC Super Villains one day via PS+ and thinking “oh damn, that would be a cool hook”!

It is the end of a huge weekend at San Diego Comic Con. We received so much news about upcoming films and TV series including the new era of DC films. So far we have seen the release of Batman V Superman and the release of Suicide Squad is just weeks away now with the movie set for release, August 5^th.

DC Comics are set to have some fantastic years ahead of them with their huge schedule of upcoming films. Justice League being perhaps the biggest film to be announced as part of the new era of DC. Solo films such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and even a Batman reboot are set to come out over the next few years.

Firstly, let’s get to the Justice League trailer. Although we didn’t really see any action, we did get to see a humorous Batman, played by Ben Affleck, forming the Justice League. The Justice League will feature some of the biggest superheroes in the DC Universe including Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and of course… Superman. The Justice League will be much brighter and funnier than Batman V Superman which was criticised for being too dark. We also got a trailer for Wonder Woman. In this new era of DC films, Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) will be played by Gal Gadot. There is only one word to describe the new Wonder Woman, she is badass. The most striking thing about the Wonder Woman film is that it is set in World War I. We see the Amazonian princess leave her home in Themyscira to go and help fight in the war along with Steve Trevor, who happened to wash up on the shores of the mythical island.

The trailer shows what Diana was like 100 years before the events of Batman V Superman, she was definitely less aware of human life but was still totally awesome. I cannot wait to finally see her smash the big screen. Wonder Woman is heading to theatres June 2^nd 2017, check the trailer for her kickass debut here.
