It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  So far this month we’ve had the enthralling game awards, epic games generous Christmas gifts and some fantastic games coming to both ps plus and the xbox game pass. We’ve really been treated this festive period, and it looks like things are about to get even better. Ubisoft have just announced that their 2D platformer Rayman Origins will be free for all this holiday season!

The famed French video game developer have given us some of the greatest gaming franchises in recent years. From Assassin’s Creed to the Far Cry series, there really have been some iconic gems in there. Rayman Origins is certainly no exception to this trend. Launched in 2011, the game sees you take on the infamous Rayman character alongside his friend Globox and two Teensies.

The title was received with a great amount of commercial and critical success, eventually spawning a sequel called Rayman Legends. Fortunately for fans of the original, you’ll be undertake Rayman’s iconic adventure once again all for free!

Ubisoft tweeted the news yesterday afternoon, saying the game will be available right away. Essentially, players will just have to visit the Ubisoft Store to get the game free of charge. Hurry though, as this deal won’t last forever! The game will only be available as this generous gift until December 22 at 9am EST. There’s really no time to waste!

Thankfully, for those wondering if their PC will run the game effectively, it’s worth noting that the game is ten years old and therefore requires much less storage than modern AAA titles. An entry-level graphics card should be enough for most of your PC’s as it only requires a minimum of 128 MB of memory. Great news right?

What’s this gift all in aid of though? It appears to be part of the ongoing celebration for the 35th anniversary of Ubisoft. Has it really been that long?

Rayman Origins hasn’t been the only game they’ve treated us with in honour of their companies history. Fans of the famed AC franchise were excited to learn that Assassin’s Creed Chronicles was free too last month. Additionally, the likes of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Anno 1404 History Edition were all previously available.

Ubisoft are celebrating their 35th anniversary by giving fans the chance to play the AC: Chronicles series for free! The 2D-focused spin off to the highly successful Assassin’s Creed franchise has brought similar success to the studio. As such, what better way to celebrate this special occasion? Developed by Climax Studios, all three games have received positive reviews and have more than earned their place in the Assassin’s Creed Canon.

Ubisofts treat is also part of a larger gifting where they intend to give us even more surprises. One example is the fact their giving us sunglasses for their Rainbow six operator. Pretty cool, right? However, now is not the time to focus on that!
