Star Wars Knights of the old republic 2 or most commonly known as KOTOR 2 is a beloved RPG game released all the way back in 2004 that was recently ported to the Nintendo switch but included in the game is a game-breaking bug that crashes the game after the Basilisk Crash cutscene when landing on  Onderon this currently makes the game unbeatable in any legitimate way, however, Aspyr Studios have suggested that “For now, our suggested workaround is to warp past the point where the game crashes using the cheats menu.”

““To do so, triple-click the left thumbstick, open the cheats menu, select warp, and warp to OND504. Make sure not to head to the merchant quarter, as your game will crash.”

This fix while not perfect does allow for the player to further progress in the game but for those that would rather wait for a more legitimate way to go through the game without the use of the cheat menu then rest assured that Aspyr is aware of the issue and is currently investigating it any updates to the matter will be posted on their socials and support page including when we might see a possible patch to this problem.

The recent tweet made by the company had led many to believe that this was a bug that was affected every KOTOR II player but a representative of the company has assured people that this bug was only affecting a small number of players nevertheless a fix to the problem will be coming in the next patch for the switch version with an estimated date still unknown.

As well as that it’s still unknown when Aspyr studios will be releasing the free DLC to include the missing content that the game was infamous for lacking at its initial release all the way back in 2004, as currently the base game itself is deemed by many to be incomplete in its current state, modders on the PC version were able to release a restored content mod but for switch, we’ll have to wait for the DLC to enjoy it on the system the DLC is slated to release sometime before the end of this year, however.

Aspyr Studios is currently in charge of the KOTOR remake for the PS5 and PC which was announced last year during a PlayStation presentation, the almost two decades old game is not just a simple remaster it’s been claimed that “It’s being rebuilt from the ground up, with modern visuals and technology”

The beloved Star Wars RPG  Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II most commonly known as KOTOR 2 by fans which was originally released back in 2004 which had you create your own Jedi and venture around various areas in the star wars universe  has had a recent release in 2022 on the Nintendo switch, this release was mainly unchanged from the 2004 release and it was recently discovered that due to a game-breaking  bug the game is currently unbeatable according to VGC

One Twitter user that goes by Daniel Moore discovered that the crash occurred after the Basilisk crash cutscene this bug was apparently reported to Aspyr Media who were in charge of porting the beloved star wars game to switch before it became a known issue, Aspyr Media responded by saying that this was a known issue that will be fixed in the next patch but currently there is no ETA on when that patch would actually go live.

Yeah I was one of the users who reported it before it was a known issue.

KOTOR II which was released all the way back in 2004 saw a port to the Nintendo switch along with the previous entry this continues the trend with various old games being rereleased on the popular Nintendo Switch console and while quite a few have been a rather rough port the unique selling point of being able to take a lot of your old favourite games with you anywhere on the go is too tempting to pass up the game itself back in 2004 while being beloved and seen as a successor to the previous entry is believed to mainly be unfinished however with various bugs and missing content has not been changed that much from being ported over, however, Aspyr Media has promised that a free DLC that is slated to come later this year will restore various missing content from the game that many fans who have played the original game will not have seen. Still, a warning to those that are looking forward to this DLC it’s been confirmed that due to how intricate this DLC will be you will have to create a brand new save in order to enjoy this free DLC.

Aspyr media are also working on creating a complete remake of Knights Of The Old Republic (KOTOR) which was announced back in 2021 during a PlayStation showcase the game is being remade from the ground up and planned to be released on both the PS5 and PC with a release date currently unknown

Now, despite being a self-proclaimed leftist, I’ve developed something of a parasocial affection for New World and it’s formation from mega-rich borderline monopolistic parent company, Amazon… Yes, I know the game’s by Amazon Games, but let’s not mince words, that’s the corporate equivalent of tomato-tomato. In the spirit of being informative and not overdosing on my slightly unhinged tendency to tangential tirades, let’s jump into the news first. CUE THE MUSICAL INTERLUDE!

Amazon Games Studio has recently released a December update for New World and a video explaining future content in store for the game. The world of game design is a pretty complex beast at times though, so hopefully the new content plans don’t end up putting the cart before the ass in terms of ironing out the past glitches and bugs in the game. Even Rich Lawrence (studio head for Amazon Games) admits in the video (here) that the teams’ attempts at fixing glitches accidentally caused even more problems, so… Amazon… Honey. Babydoll. You can afford to just take your time with fixing New World, it’s okay… Or maybe don’t because then I’ll have less comedy fodder for my line of work, who am I to judge?

“What we’ve been trying to do is balance new features as much as we can in with our fixes. And what we’ve discovered is we have a rate limit. We are going too fast, honestly.” – Rich Lawrence.

Luckily, Lawrence has also claimed there will be plans to slow down the work pace for better analysis of issues in New World. Specifically, upcoming patches will have fewer features (with fewer bugs by extension) for the time being, which is a-okay for me because if Hollow Knight has taught me anything, sometimes less is more.

As for some of the new features, New World will be seeing the addition of Mutators, weekly modifiers to enemies within the game’s expeditions (or dungeons). These can vary from exploding enemy types, to skill-immune foes and other game-changing abilities. Dave Hall (player experience lead on New World) also announced the addition of a blunderbuss, basically a sort of badass fantasy musket I heard about from one too many DnD campaigns. The game will also see destructible objects coming to it, so that’ll probably get the Crackdown fans hot n’ bothered.

Narrative Lead Rob Chestney also claims the first chapter of the game’s story is nearly finished, with plans to add more to it in updates.

Trade skills will be making a return sometime, so assuming that means the earlier debacle with the game’s trading system is nearly fixed. There will also be better fast travel accessibility and shrine-viewing icons for the map.

The Winter Convergence Festival event is also currently ongoing in New World. New World is available on PC for anyone looking to get stuck in on the experience before the glitches get fixed and I end up being out of a job… I jest of course, we’ll always have “Bobbert Kotique“!

The latest Marvel patch (patch 1.8.0) has reportedly introduced a bug that displays players IP addresses, and Crystal Dynamics have warned players not to stream the game for the time being.

Marvel’s Avengers is a 2020 action role-playing brawler game that is currently hosting a Cosmic Cube event and released an update this week. Within it, the update follows trails of Cosmic energy and sees the Avengers track down the new villain, Monica, and her secret weapon the Cosmic Cube to stop her from creating an imperfect future. There is also a Cosmic Threat event that will take place from June 24 to July 8, featuring altered missions that will have players searching in different Threat Sectors while being saturated with Cosmic energy.

However, the update that was released on Tuesday has also introduced a bug that displays sensitive player information on-screen for other players to see.

Crystal Dynamics, the game’s developer, has been tweeting updates for the past 24 hours in order to keep fans informed on what they are doing to correct this problem. They discovered it is only affecting PS5 players so far, but it is advised to not play until this problem is rectified.

We’re aware of the issue where a floating string of text appears on the screen and are investigating. Please refrain from streaming for now if you’re experiencing this issue. We will update when this issue has been resolved. – Crystal Dynamics

The latest update states a hotfix is to happen today at 8 AM PT / 11AM ET/ 4PM BST. 

We are currently testing a solution to the issue of personal information, including the player's IP address and username, being displayed on screen on PS5 and plan to deploy a hotfix tomorrow at around 8AM PT.

Forbes reporter Paul Tassi shared a screenshot of what the bug looks like in action, calling it the worst bug he has ever heard of and ‘this is legitimately “shut the game off” bad’.

People getting ahold of your IP address can cause all manor of havoc with your internet connection with DDOS attacks, or potentially get their hands on other information. I don’t know what the other string of numbers that appears alongside it due to this bug is, but I imagine that can’t be good either. – Paul Tassi
