Call of Duty Mobile Season 9: Nightmare is soon to be released with mobile fans excited of what is to come.

With Halloween fast approaching. Call of Duty always have something special in store for the community with Warzone, Cold War and Mobile players expecting interesting things for this year’s event in particular, ‘The Haunting’ Event.

What is ‘The Haunting’ Event?

This week we saw the release of ‘The Haunting’ Event for Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War for this year’s Halloween; releasing October 19th. The Haunting fans expect new challenges, new weapon skins, new operator skins, new rewards, new modes and more. With one of the most exciting modes that release every Haunting being the ‘Haunting of Verdansk’ on Warzone.

The Haunting of Verdansk being a mode where the normal Verdansk map is set at night with players being able to become zombies after being killed. You must survive as the alive player in order to win the battle royale.

‘The Haunting’ is set to most likely run until November 1st, a few days before the release of the newest COD game, Vanguard.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 9: Nightmare

Season 9: Nightmare launches October 20th/21st depending on your time zone. The official time of release being confirmed as 5PM PT / 8PM ET on the 20th with it releasing 1AM BST for those in the UK.

The Halloween festivities on the arise meaning the highly favoured Undead Siege is set to make a return. Undead Siege, being a popular Zombies mode looks set to return with a Halloween twist with players fending off the undead on Isolated with a variety of Zombie types and opponents.

The new season also includes a brand-new Battle Pass, a set of new rewards, new Multiplayer Maps and more. Obviously as Halloween is near, the menus and setting will all be surrounded around the event.

Call of Duty: Mobile is available on iOS and Android devices.

The new mobile game will be created by a new internal mobile studio at Activision

Activision held their second-quarter call on Tuesday where they announced the news of their expansion into mobile gaming as well as explaining what they are currently working on- a new Call Of Duty mobile game.

It was unofficially announced back in June via the company’s job listings but both have now been officially confirmed.

Activision Mobile

Activision president Rob Kostich stated the company sees more “compelling growth” on the mobile platform and that there is an opportunity to better connect mobile to the overall Call Of Duty ecosystem.

Therefore, Activision has created their own internal studio for mobile gaming and is currently hiring talent to join them on that journey. The internal studio is receiving support from other studios such as Beenox and Activision Shanghai, who are leading the teams behind the unannounced project for the Call Of Duy series.

The unannounced project is an AAA title and Activision is currently hiring talent from mobile, console, and PC backgrounds who are passionate about their work.

This isn’t Activision’s first mobile game nor one that belongs to the Call Of Duty franchise. Call Of Duty: Mobile was released back in November 2019 on iOS and Android as a free-to-play series and has had over 500 million downloads.

This new project will definitely have fans hyped, however with the latest Activision Blizzard harassment accusations, it might be a little ill-timed to be getting excited when so much more needs to be addressed.

Season 6 brings the dead back to life once again.

The new season for Call of Duty: Mobile is coming up soon, and it brings back the Zombies mode that was removed in 2020. Season 6, named The Heat, arrives Thursday, July 29th at 1PM BST on iOS and Android devices.

The fan-favourite Zombies mode returns in a new mode called Undead Siege, which premieres on July 21st. In this mode, players drop into the battle royale map and are challenged to survive over a period of five days and five nights. Players scavenge for resources during the day and then fight zombies at night. As time passes, the zombies grow in strength and in numbers. In combating them, players rack up experience, which allows them to unlock new items.

Season 6 also adds a new battle pass, featuring 50 new tiers of unlockable content. Some of the new content includes a new operator named Rosa – Double Agent and the MX9 weapon, more calling cards, and allotments of Call of Duty Points.

Season 6 adds two new maps on the multiplayer side, both of which may be familiar to players. These include Slums (first seen in Black Ops II) and Stack (from Modern Warfare).

As Call of Duty: Mobile Season 4 wraps up, Activision has announced the theme for Season 5, mere days before its release.

The official Call of Duty: Mobile Twitter account has been slowly teasing the new content for the latest season. While final details are still unknown, they did announce what Season 5’s theme will be about.

Due to come out June 30, Season 5: In Deep Water is expected to make a splash amongst fans with its water-themed surprises and soaking-fun content. The new season is set to introduce several harbour-themed maps (new and returning), new weapons, and a brand new battle pass for fans to explore.

Past seasons from this year have been titled: New Order, Day of Reckoning, Tokyo Escape, and Spurned & Burned.

The three maps that were announced along with the theme are; Suldal Harbor, a map located on the Black Sea that will push players to battle between buildings and bunkers; Docks, a map located next to a London shipyard that hails from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and was originally designed for 2v2 gunfight battles; and Aniyah Incursion, a map located in Central Asia which is another returning map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and will have players battle in a cloudy-rain environment.

The weapons being added so far are the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle and 725 double-barrel shotgun. It is unclear what the guns will do to the games’ current meta status, but the assault rifle has a reputation for being a steady low-recoil weapon and the shotgun is a more niche weapon that really packs a punch.

Fans are definitely excited to see the return of maps, as well as looking forward to the exciting content that’s to come. For now, we will have to patiently wait for the Twitter account to give us more information.
