Who can’t wait for this one then? Nintendo and Pokemon have had us desperately waiting for an extended look at the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Arceus game which is being released later this month. Finally, they treat us to just what we’ve been asking for.

In this exclusive 13-minute clip, we receive a detailed analysis of Legends’ game play loop and brand new features. Accordingly, we’ll be playing as a new recruit to the Galaxy Expedition Team, but what does this involve? It looks like we’ll be tasked with exploring the Hisui region in order to catalog the first Pokedex. How exciting!

Additionally, it looks like there’s going to be small twists to the franchise which we haven’t seen previously. For example, wild Pokemon can be found roaming the map as they please. Whilst this means that some monsters like the Bidoof will ignore your movements, you may find yourself more fearful of the Shinx, who will attack you on sight. As a result, you’ll have to find a different approach to catch it which adds a bit of variety to the game play.

Anyway, enough talking, let’s just show you the trailer!

Arceus Extended Trailer Shows Off Missions, Crafting And More

It all looks rather impressive now, doesn’t it? Let’s go through some small details which we think will be the biggest changes to the series thus far.

Firstly, it seems that the battle system will be receiving a couple of updates. As players initiate a battle by sending their Pokemon’s to fight wild monsters, you will notice that you can now command Pokemon to use Agile Style or Strong Style versions of their attacks. The moves are quite self-explanatory, with the Agile style allowing quicker movements but less strength, and the Strong Style taking more time to strike but does a lot more damage.

Secondly, the trailer also gifts us with another showing of Alpha Pokemon and Noble Pokemon. Alpha Pokemon have red glowing eyes and look to be much more aggressive in their actions, and Noble Pokemon are essentially bosses. Combine them together and you’ll have some intense work on your hands. This is because something has caused the Noble Pokemon to become frenzied, and its up to you to put a stop to that! Reckon you’re up to the task?

Not only are their different ways to catch Pokemons, but you’ll also be able to collect materials including stones and plants whilst exploring the map. If you’re looking to make new Poke Balls, well these are the resources that you need to do that. Additionally, we’ve seen the facilities available in the game, which includes the Jubilife Village. This’ll be where you can purchase new outfits and a hairdresser to customise your character. You’ve got to look good when catching Pokemon, of course.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches on Jan. 28. Everyone who purchases the game before May 9 will receive a bonus Hisuian Growlithe kimono set and Baneful Fox mask for their character. You’ll also get a few special bonuses if you’ve played other Pokemon games on Switch. Also, make sure to check out even more game play footage right here! If you want to pre-order the game, well you know where to go!

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set to release soon, so it only makes sense that Nintendo has increased its marketing efforts recently. Nintendo has been releasing all sorts of videos that detail Pokémon Legends: Arceus features and explain what fans can expect from the gameplay. One of the most recently included is a six-minute Japanese-only trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which shows Pokémon trying to attack the player.

The trailer opens by showing off some of the Hisui region and small Pokémon walking around. It then gets a bit dark as the player character must dive out of the way to avoid being hit by a Crobat attack. The trailer then shows hostile Pokémon with glowing red eyes, implying that they will be extra aggressive when attacking humans in the game.

This won’t be the first time we’ve seen Pokémon going after people. After all, there was an abundance of instances where Team Rocket have been zapped in the show. This isn’t something that’s ever really translated into the games though, so this is a new feature to the interactive adventures.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Switches Up the Formula

The same… but DIFFERENT!

The battle system that Pokémon fans love and know gets a much-needed update. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is making significant changes to the battle system, so it will still be quite different from what fans are used to, but the basic concept of battling and catching Pokémon remains of course.

The basic objective of the game is for players to complete the Hisui area Pokedex by catching wild Pokémon and then using those wild Pokémon in battles against other. The usual format we are all familiar with.

Considering that this game takes place in the past, it can be assumed there is no official Pokémon League established yet, which would mean there are no Gym Leaders to battle. Whether or not the game will follow the traditional journey, or maybe the game’s formula will be mixed up too. For now, we can only wait and see what other information comes out before the games scheduled release.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released for the Nintendo Switch on January 28th.

Nintendo published a short Pokémon Legends: Arceus gameplay clip on Twitter, highlighting the game’s stealth mechanics. While fans are used to seeing Pokémon in thick grass, it appears like the opposite will be true this time, with players crouching in the greenery and sneaking up on unsuspecting creatures.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus, on the other hand, is a break from the series’ traditions in every way. It puts players in the shoes of a trainer in a different time than fans have seen in previous games, and even includes primitive versions of the PokéBall. It’s not quite the open-world Pokémon game that fans had hoped for based on the first trailers, but it doesn’t appear to be too far off.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the first game in what looks to be a big year for Nintendo. It will be one of the first major triple-a releases of the year, and depending on how it performs, it might earn Nintendo a lot of early points.

Nintendo’s output doesn’t slow down after that, with a completely 3D Kirby game set for release in 2022, as well as a probable Breath of the Wild 2 release. All of this is to imply that Nintendo fans have a lot to anticipate.

For now though, fans will have to wait and watch how Pokémon Legends: Arceus performs in the real world. It may be a radical new style of Pokémon game, or it could completely flop.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released for the Nintendo Switch on January 28th.

Now that Pokemon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond have been out for a few weeks, and avid fans have torn through the main game already. Interest in the next installment of the franchise is mounting, and people are already scrounging for leaks on Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Leakers have begun sharing details about the ancient region of Hisui and the variety of Pokemon we might find there, in all their different forms. While we can’t ascertain the credibility of all these leakers, Riddler Khu has brought forward info about gameplay and story.

Hardcore gameplay embodies reasonable resource allocation in PLA. You should pay attention to berries, ores and other Pokémon drops. You need to buy item slots when the game progresses, craft balls and throw them effectively. Avoid senseless recollecting and make it a-smooth-ap.

— Riddler Khu (@Riddler_Khu) December 5, 2021

Legends: Arceus seems to be taking a focus on the long grind, emulative of JRPGs. Could this be Nintendo’s response to complaints that the new games are too short? A title aimed at older players with new mechanics and long-term player goals?

If so, Legends: Arceus could be shaping up to be the longest game in the main series.

It seems the main goal for the player is to catch Arceus, which makes sense given the title. Of course, you’ll also probably want to fill in your Hisui Pokédex, and the reintroduction of shiny Pokemon to the open world means you could go on the grind to find all your favourite pokes in their shiny form, too.

Aside from the story, it looks like resource management will be a big thing in the upcoming game. Rather than blindly collecting everything you find, you’ll need to make use of limited storage as you fill it up with crafting components and berries, etc.

Though we won’t know for certain until the games release, January 28th, the prospect of a Pokemon game with a new focus that brings back the grind of old is very exciting. It would be a stark contrast to Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond, which could be speedrun in just 33 minutes.

If you have save data for other Pokemon games on your Nintendo Switch, you can obtain the two mythical Pokemon.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launch for Nintendo Switch on November 19th, and fans who’ve played other Pokemon games on their Switch console will receive a special bonus: either the mythical Pokemon Mew and Jirachi. To get them, you’ll need to have save data for Pokemon Sword/Shield and/or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee on your Switch. You’ll only be able to claim one of the Pokemon, so choose wisely. Here’s how to claim the mythical Pokemon reward.

How to get Jirachi with Pokemon Sword/Shield

Players who have Pokemon Sword or Shield save data on their system will be able to receive Jirachi in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To claim the mythical Pokemon, you’ll need to speak to the gentleman standing in the flower field in the southwestern corner of Floaroma Town. He will give you the Pokemon and tell you to take good care of Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon.

How to get Mew with Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu

Players who have save data for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee on their Switch will be able to get Mew in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To collect the Pokemon, you’ll need to speak to the madame in the same flower field in the southwestern corner of Floaroma Town.

You can only choose one

If you have save data for both games, you’ll need to be careful with which NPC you speak to. Make sure you talk to the one that correlates to the Pokemon you want. If you only have one of the two games on your Switch, well, the decision is made for you!

Those aren’t the only free mythical Pokemon that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players can get. Everyone who purchases a copy of either game before February 21st, 2022 will be able to receive a free Manaphy egg via the Mystery Gift function. You’ll also be able to catch older legendary Pokemon in the games through a new facility called Ramanas Park.

There’s even more Pokemon content to be enjoyed next year. Pokemon Legends: Arceus will launch for Switch on January 28th. It, too, has an extra bonus for Sword and Shield players. Everyone who has Sword or Shield save data on their console will be able to get the mythical Pokemon Shaymin in Pokemon Legends, as well as a Shaymin kimono set for their trainers (so cute!). Players with Pokemon: Let’s Go save data will also receive a Pikachu and Eevee trainer mask.

Seems like dedicated Pokemon fans will be well rewarded!

If you still haven’t, go ahead and pre-order Pokemon Shining Pearl and/or Brilliant Diamond here!

The Pokémon Company went for a darker spin with their recent trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In the trailer we see a researcher searching for Pokémon in a snowy mountainous area, in which he comes across some Snorunt. He moves into a frosty forest clearing, where he encounters a small red and white fox-like Pokémon before being attacked by a shadowy figure and scurrying off. The Pokémon investigates the camera, and it is revealed to be a Hisuan form Zorua, accompanied by Hisuan form Zoruark.

The two snazzy looking new forms have both been confirmed as being Normal/Ghost type, a type combination we’ve not actually seen before which is interesting.

What to expect in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a new kind of Pokémon game set in the Pokémon world’s past. The game takes place in the Hisui region, which will later go on to become the Sinnoh region. Players will be entrusted with gathering information for the region’s first Pokedex while also researching a strange phenomenon that is causing certain Pokémon to go wild. Furthermore, new mechanics for catching and battling Pokémon have been added. There is no distinct fighting screen in the game. Instead, players use their Pokémon to combat wild Pokémon on the “overworld” map. Rather than encountering Pokémon at random amid tall grass, catching them requires creeping up on them in the wild.

As you can see there is a lot more emphasis on open-world exploration. The new Pokémon game appears to place a strong focus on the regional variations originally seen in Pokémon Sun and Moon and extended in Pokémon Sword and Shield. The Noble Pokémon also seem reminiscent of the Totem Pokémon seen in Sun and Moon.

All the new Pokémon shown in the trailers are either new “Hisuan” versions of old Pokémon like Growlithe or Braviary or new evolutions of existing Pokemon such as Basculegion, Wyrdeer, and Kleavor. Given that Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in the past and in a current region, it will be fascinating to see how the Pokémon franchise explains what happened to all of these Pokémon between the time of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the present.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release on Nintendo Switch on January 28th 2022.

Pokémon fans have plenty to look forward to as it is already. On November 19, not only will Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl be released, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a new 3D rendition of the brand featuring semi-open world Pokémon collecting, will also be released on January 28. It seems that the Pokémon Company may also have no intentions of slowing down this break-neck pace during 2022. According to a leaker, a new Pokémon game, the 9th generation of the main series, will be released in 2022.

The information comes from the Twitter account Centro Leaks, which regularly posts Pokémon-related leaks but doesn’t give any sources or evidence. They have previously revealed correct leaks, making this possible leak significant. The 9th-generation Pokémon games are “far in development,” according to Centro Leaks, and will be released in 2022. There is no more information regarding the release available.

Not DLC.
Gen 9 is next in 2022.

— Centro LEAKS (@CentroLeaks) October 16, 2021

How Reliable are the Rumours?

Centro Leaks is obviously not a completely trustworthy source in this case. Nonetheless, it’s a fascinating prospect. If Game Freak had the foresight, the next Pokémon game would be released in late 2022, giving it plenty of time to produce DLC for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Annual iterations aren’t out of the question for The Pokémon Company. Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Let’s Go, Eevee!, Sword, and Shield were all released between 2016 and 2019. A year without Pokémon would feel very unusual at this point.

However, it appears that The Pokémon Company is speeding up the release of new titles in the core franchise. The Pokémon Company has a history of releasing many versions of the same game before moving on, such as Pokémon Yellow or Pokémon Crystal. Maybe concentrating on DLC rather than iterative releases has allowed for more frequent big game releases for the core franchise.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to validate Centro Leaks’ rumour at the moment, and official word is unlikely to arrive very soon. With large Pokémon game releases planned for November and January, as well as DLC, an announcement of a 9th generation Pokémon game set to premiere in 2022 is likely to be delayed until later in the year.

Another interesting element of this leak is that it may be linked to another intriguing rumour. Nintendo is expected to release a Nintendo Switch Pro system with 4K resolution in 2022, according to rumours. A new Pokémon game with 4K support would be a huge seller for the system. In one way or another, 2022 will be a highly intriguing year for fans of the Pokémon franchise.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release this year on November 19th, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus will release on the January 28th. In the meantime, check out or store and browse our extensive range of Pokémon games and merchandise!
