FOR PLAYSTATION, PC AND XBOX WITH SWITCH AND OTHER VERSIONS REXING AT A LATER DATE

Ubisoft has announced that Roller Champions will be skating on May 25th!

Revealed in 2019 and originally planned to release the year after, Roller Champions is a “Ubisoft Original” free-to-play PvP online competitive sports game produced by Ubisoft Montreal.

Roller Champions looks like the young whippersnapper offspring of the ancient but still fun Brutal Deluxe SpeedBall 2 and recent competitive darling Rocket League! But with less cars especially much less of the rocket-powered type cars!

From the trailers the premise looks simple enough with similar competitive offensive/defensive and counteroffensive / defensive play and tactics with the aim to score more goals than the opposing side while navigating obstacles and different themed arenas.

Roller Champions will be available next week on Xbox One and PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 via backward compatibility, and for PC through the Ubisoft Store.

Of course Roller Champions will also be rolling to Nintendo Switch, the Epic Games Store, Stadia and Amazon Luna at a later date.

“In each match, you and two teammates will face off against another team of three in an elliptical arena,” Ubisoft says. “The goal is straightforward – reach five points before your opponents do – and the basics are easy to grasp”.

“Keep control of the ball by skating and passing, steal it from your opponents with a well-timed tackle, and make a full lap of the arena to open up the goal and take your shot”.

“Once you’ve got the fundamentals down, you can level up your game by practicing and socializing in the skatepark hub, and then using your skills in matches to execute team manoeuvres and do multiple laps to increase the points each goal is worth.”

Roller Champions will support the now standard cross-play and cross-progression at launch.

Roller Champions will also feature a free Roller Pass, which players can progress through to unlock cosmetic items for their skater, and a premium version offering access to exclusive gear that won’t be available in the item shop.

The Original Open World Driving Game Was Originally Scheduled To Arrive In Sept 2022!

Nacon has declared that development of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown has been pushed into 2023 and that the last-generation versions of the game have all been cancelled from development.

From a recent blog post, the developer stated that its “goal with Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is to make it the most polished gaming experience in the franchise by spending more time on its development”.

Nacon’s “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown” was previously scheduled to be released in September 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Nacon confirmed on Wednesday that the new entry in the long running open world driving franchise will no longer be released for Microsoft‘s and Sony‘s last-generation consoles.

“Finally, with the aim of making the most of the technology in the latest consoles and maximising the overall quality of the game, Nacon has decided to no longer develop Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”

Nacon also revealed that it is working towards a timeline for several closed betas. While the studio didn’t confirm when these tests would take place, they said the tests would allow them “to gather your valuable feedback so we can keep improving the game’s quality until it releases, while also staying in more regular contact with you”.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown was Unveiled in July 2020, the third game in the long-running Test Drive franchise’s open-world Unlimited sub-series promises to let players get to grips with “extraordinary cars” within Hong Kong “a luxurious island world recreated at 1:1 scale”.

“The brand new Test Drive Unlimited keeps the DNA from the first games, and revamps it for the modern era,” promises the blurb accompanying a trailer released last April.

“You have the freedom to progress however you like, the classic open championship concept returns too. Live your best life. Race, cruise, and hang out with your friends until the sun goes down and even after!”

Overwatch Anniversary Remix event returns for round 2 introducing new styles, colours and fan favourite skins!

The first Overwatch 2 Beta test window has closed. The Beta that was available for several weeks allowed players to test run and try “Overwatch Hero Reworks” which brought new maps and game design elements into the fray. To keep momentum and interest in the game high, a new round in the Overwatch Anniversary Remix event is already well underway that will introduce new versions of some of Overwatch’s most memorable costumes and outfits.

The “Overwatch Anniversary Remix Vol. 2” event returns on [ May 17th – June 7th ] bringing with it brand new colour variations to 6 previously released skins while also bringing back remixed skins from “Overwatch Anniversary Remix Vol. 1” again. The new alternate outfits on offer include Black Wolf Hanzo ( Okami Legendary Skin ), Hydra Symmetra ( Dragon Symmetra Legendary Skin ), Neon Cat Sombra ( Black Cat Legendary Skin ), Night Owl Ana ( Snow Owl Legendary Skin ), Poison Dart Lucio ( Ribbit Lucio Legendary Skin ) and Noxious Roadhog ( Toxic Roadhog Legendary Skin ).

The renowned Japanese videogame giants and publishing house behind legendary and iconic gaming franchises such as StreetFighter, Megaman, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, Capcom have listed their “All time best-selling videogames“

Capcom have compiled and listed their entire historys released titles and compiled them into the All-time best selling with over 100 of Capcoms titles surpassing 1M units with not surprisingly Monster Hunter World being far and away Capcoms most successful franchise to date leading the pack at a monstrous 18M units sold which released in 2018 on all major formats.

At a distant second place surprisingly at 10.8 M units sold to date is the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 which was a successful soft reboot of the franchise that  preceded Monster Hunter World a year earlier.

Within Capcoms top10 it is not surprisingly dominated by variations and spin offs of the Monster Hunter series leading the charge with recent entries of Resident Evil and Street Fighter also making up the list.

The oldest Capcom title to get into the top10 is StreetFighter 2 which released all the way back in 1992 on the now legendary SNES at a 6.3M units sold to date with somewhat surprisingly the latest Street Fighter V which released in 2016 trailing by a whisker at 6.2M units sold to date.

Limited edition controllers are a thing. I kinda like them, although to be fair I get the feeling everyone owns at least like 3 Xbox 360 controllers with wildly different deco’s. Microsoft has always been king in this regard and while, Being real, I think the Xbox series X/S controllers are the worst of this generation (lacking Haptics and Gyro, features that are becoming standard on other controllers), its still a solid controller and well worth picking up if you need a new Basic Pad for PC.

Now, microsoft has partnered with Razer and marvel to produce a new controller, themed around Marvel Superhero Captain America. That’s Sam Wilson Captain America/Falcon, to be clear, not Steve Rodgers. For some people I know this will be a turn off from the controller, but from a design standpoint… it really doesn’t matter. Just means there’s more White in the deco than normal for something Cap Themed.

The controller itself appears to be a standard X/S controller, however it comes with a charging dock based on Caps Sheild.

Besides that, this has the standard feature set for Xbox Controllers from this generation, which, despite me slagging off its lack of Haptics and Gyro earlier, is not a bad feature set. Sure I will still take a steam controller of dual sense over this thing, but lets be clear that the Series X/S controller is a solid bit of tech that does all that it needs to do.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch. This bundle, currently available on razers website… costs $179.99. Friendly reminder that an Xbox Series S costs about $299, meaning this controller bundle costs just over half as much as a whole console. That’s a big yikes.

The post Razer are making a Captain America themed Controller first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Its almost here. The Witch Queen is the most recent addition to destiny 2 and will finally see us come face to face with Savathune, the titular “Witch Queen” and someone that has been stalking the periphery of the lore for a long time. First mentioned all the way back in 2015 with the release of Destiny 1s first major expansion “The Taken King”, Savathune has been a hot name ever since.

Here is everything we know going into the expansion

Launch trailer

Bungie just dropped the expansion’s launch trailer, and we are also expecting to see the Epilogue of the current season today, which should lead directly into the witch queen.

Release Date and Time

The witch queen will drop on february 22nd, but the game will go offline before that for scheduled server maintenance. Alongside it season 16 Will come, kicking off the years content leading up to the games penultimate expansion (of this “Arc” of the games existence), LIghtfall.

The process will go as follows

• Destiny 2 goes offline at 2:45 on february 22st
• Preload for the update goes live at 3:00 AM
• At 17:00, destiny 2 will be brought back online, coinciding with weekly reset. Update 4.0.0.1, which is the witch queen expansion, will be playable on all platforms. Servers will be unstable, they always are, and the game will be hard to access due to high traffic.
• At 1800, the maintenance is scheduled to complete

Whats new?

There are a number of new features in this expansion including:

• a new location, Savathunes Throne World
• Weapon crafting, allowing you to create your perfect weapon
• Glaives: the games newest weapon archetype that revolves around first person melee combat

Alongside this, we are getting a reworking of all of the void subclasses into a new system, Similar to the Darkness based Stasis subclasses last year which provide more customisation and buildcrafting potential than the old linear system Destiny 2 launched with back in 2017.

The updated system will scrap some abilities, but will also bring new ones into the light. This does mean we wont be getting any new subclasses this expansion, though bungie has promised similar overhauls to solar and arc in the not to distant future.

Alongside this we are getting a suite of new weapons, including 6 new confirmed exotic weapons these are:

• Grand overture, a gun that launches full auto micro missiles but needs to be charged to fire
• Parasite, a grenade launcher that fires Hive Worms at people.
• Ostero Striga, an SMG that fires swaming projectiles that trigger a toxic burst

And the three exotic glaives

• Edge of Intent for Warlocks (deploys a healing turret)
• Edge of Concurence for hunters (tracking chain lightning)
• And Edge of Action for titan (Places a protective shield.)

The catch

So this is great right? Yeah well, the DCV strikes again, with The critically acclaimed forsaken campaign being removed from the game and put into the content vault. Along with it, we are losing a number of strikes from the location (Notably not warden of nothing, that strike will be moved elsewhere) as well as the tangled shore location and the last year of seasonal content

Power Level

So that you can get started right away, bungie is setting the new *base* power level as 1350, which is 20 above the current max level, so RIGHT NOW stock up on Upgrade modules but dont use them, they will be wasted at the exact moment. But why do you need to level, I Hear you ask?

THE RAID

We are getting a new raid launching on saturday march 5th, so If you are planning on taking part, get a team together now and get ready to go. Day one everyone will automatically be put 20 light under level and the goal will be to be the first team in the world to clear the Raid. the team that makes it will get a brand new, shiny champions belt to display… wherever. Even if you dont make that goal, however, clearing within the first 24 hours will net you a cool Emblem to show off.

The raid will be set within one of the now ubiquitous pyramid ships that are scattered across destiny’s system. We did briefly go inside one during shadowkeep, but this will take us deep into the ships

I will be sure to do a write up on the day one raid experience and how to clear it after completion however, so stay tuned to Get2gaming for that.

Halo Infinite was one of last years biggest releases, Coming out right at the last second and setting records with its free to play multiplayer’s surprise release. However, 3 months on and the games population is beginning to drop off a bit.

Now, Some will tell you this is down to the Numerous minor controversies the game has faced, such as desync/connection issues or the monetization practices of the game. However, lets be real here: most people dont actually play halo for the multiplayer long term. Like yeah, everyone will give it a go but will probably move back to their typical Multiplayer game of choice. Most people play Halo for the campaign modes, and by this point… yeah most people will have completed it by now, so player drop-off is to be expected to a degree.

However these small flaws are not to be ignored. For example, Reddit user AquaBlader has recently pointed out that the generic loading screen image is boring, and its the only one in the game right now. This is also a downgrade as compared to Halo 5, as that game used concept art for the loading screen art.

As of right now, 343 industries are working on fixing Desync, and once that’s gone the game will be in a much better state. After that though, 343 should look into fixing small quality of life problems such as these loading scenes.

Xbox’s Phil Spencer shares comments on reports of upcoming Sony service.

The head of gaming at Microsoft fully expects PlayStation to compete with Xbox Game Pass through future unannounced subscription service.

It’s fairly well contested that Xbox Game Pass is far superior to PlayStation’s current game streaming service, PlayStation Now. Though there have been some recent efforts to improve the service, nothing that would compare to the slew of AAA titles available to play on Xbox Game Pass.

According to documents seen by Bloomberg, Sony has a completely new service in the works – codenamed Spartacus. Supposedly, this will include the current PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now services in a complete rebrand, and will be available in three subscription tiers.

It is currently set to launch for PS4 and PS5 this spring.

The service will include existing benefits like online play and free monthly titles, as well as a catalogue of games that players with the subscription can access in the second tier. The third tier will also offer extended demos, game streaming, and a selection of classics PlayStation games.

When IGN asked Phil Spencer about the claims, he stated that he felt it was an inevitability.

“I don’t mean it to sound like we’ve got it all figured out, but I think the right answer is allowing your customers to play the games they want to play, where they want to play them, and giving them choice about how they build their library, and being transparent with them about what our plans are in terms of our PC initiatives and our cross-gen initiatives and other things,” he said. “I talk about it as an inevitability. So for us, we should continue to innovate, continue to compete, because the things that we’re doing might be advantages that we have in the market today, but they’re just based on us going first, not that we’ve created something that no one else can go create.

“I like it because it feeds our energy on what are the next things that we should be working on as we continue to build out the things that we’ve done in the past. Because I think the right answer is to ship great games, ship them on PC, ship them on console, ship them on cloud, make them available Day 1 in the subscription. And I expect that’s what our competitor will do.”

It seems Xbox are also more than willing to keep up with the competition. Having a lot of experience delivering a great subscription service, I’d say they have an advantage for the moment. Will PlayStation be able to catch up?

Who wants some Wang? Well, if you do then you dont have long to wait, as it has been leaked that Shadow Warrior 3 will be launching it march. As of right now there hasnt been an official statement by publisher Devolver Digital, but the Xbox and Playstation Stores have updated their listings with a March 1st release date, so this *seems* like the real deal. The listings have also revealed a price of $50, and some pre-order Bonuses:

• Shadow Warrior [Full game]
• Shadow Warrior 2 [Full Game]
• Limited Edition Katana Skin [DLC] for shadow Warrior 3

Now, of course, I personally would have liked to have seen the Shadow Warrior Classic redux on that list given that (personally) I have never really been a fan of “New Wang” and, despite its cringeworthy dialogue and… lets say questionable voice work, I do prefer the older game. But, even then this is a good little bundle. Here is a quick rundown of what the game has to offer:

Fallen corporate shogun Lo Wang and his former employer turned nemesis turned sidekick Orochi Zilla embark on a mission to recapture an ancient dragon they unwillingly unleashed from its eternal prison. Armed with a punishing mix of blades and bullets, Lo Wang must traverse uncharted parts of the world to track down the dark beast and push the apocalypse back yet again. All it will take is the mask of a dead god, a dragon’s egg, a touch of magic, and enough firepower to hold off the impending cataclysm.

• Conduct a symphony of death with each encounter by mixing overwhelming firepower with devastatingly precise katana strikes as you dash in and around the demonic hordes.
• Flow between nimble movement techniques including air dashes, wall running, double jumps, and the fancy new grappling hook busts your combat and movement options wide open in every battle.
• Execute spectacular finishing moves to claim a piece of your conquered foe and unleash its powers back on the horde in a burst of unstoppable fury and powerful magic.
• Each environment is lined with hazardous structures and devices that can be activated to add another layer of creative choice to the offensive strategy.
• Trek across a mythic Asian land infused with the magic and technology of ancient samurai, now overrun by the demonic yokai from Japanese folklore.
• Brace for expertly delivered one-liners from Lo Wang, pointed banter with Zilla, and an intense thrill-ride of absurd predicaments on the way to turning doomsday into a new day.

In many ways, crossplay is a great thing: it enables us to play with friends who don’t share the same platform as us. It was initially very highly requested and has been backed by Microsoft for years. However, Xbox gamers are now looking for a way to opt-out of crossplay.

This is due to popular shooter games like Halo Infinite and Call of Duty dealing with cheaters in the competitive space. Free-to-play titles suffer greatly, as hackers can just create another account following a ban. While there’s an option to disable crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone, if you try to load into a playlist on Xbox it will force you to re-enable it. On PlayStation, however, you can dismiss the prompt and continue to the playlist with crossplay still disabled. Warzone players on Xbox have been complaining about this forced crossplay for over a year, through comments, YouTube videos, forum discussions, and more.

Cheaters or no cheaters, though, shooters are easier to play with a mouse. But I, like many gamers, find playing with a controller to be a more fun experience. Plenty of console gamers don’t own a PC fit for gaming, either. There’s no need to force Xbox gamers to compete with those using a mouse when the player pool is plentiful either way. This would provide a better experience since you could choose to game only with people who have equal advantages to you.

I really hope Microsoft get around to fixing this, or they could be losing some of their Xbox player base on those titles.
