Wholesome Games have given Here Comes Niko! A Release Date Announcement
Here Comes Niko! had been showcased by Wholesome Games Mid-June during the Wholesome Games direct, although an announcement for the game release had already been decided, they hadn’t released a trailer on their Youtube Channel for it.
Here comes Niko! will be released on the 3rd of August 2021 on Steam for PC. As expected, they will also be coming out with a Nintendo Switch release, this looks like one of those perfect cosy games for the Switch Lite, especially when you want to do nothing but wrap up in your bed, playing alone and engaging in fun interactions in a game that make you giggle to yourself beneath the sheets. That’s the epitome of being an introverted gamer.
“In Here Comes Niko! the cozy 3D platformer for tired people, you’ll play as Niko traveling across scenic islands. Make new friends, catch fish, solve puzzles, snag bugs, and more! Oh, Did I mention your boss is a frog? With Here Comes Niko! you’re in for the most laid back adventure of your life!”
Not only that but…

As you can see they are also making a Japanese version. This will be a good way to learn Japanese if you were to buy both versions as the dialogue in Here comes Niko! happen to be quite simple and easy for even young children to understand. So it would be a good alternative in learning how to read and perhaps some writing and pronunciation practice as well. It’ll be a good way to learn Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji, the three Japanese alphabets.
Will it be worth playing?
Well, that brings up the question. What are you looking for in a game? If you enjoy exploring, completing tasks, meeting new characters, fun dialogue and adorable animals, then this is for you. I most certainly will be getting myself a digital copy of this game and hopefully, there is an option to change the in-game language, then players can play in Japanese as well as English. That would be a nice addition to the game.
You can get Here comes Niko! From Steam and Switch release date is TBC, but let’s hope it’s around the corner.
