Battlefield 2042 Season 1 is currently set for release in early June.

DICE‘s troubled title Battlefield 2042 finally has a release date for it’s battle pass-style upcoming Season 1 update. Early June is the time but it can’t ever be set in stone with the quite frankly horrible start to Battlefield’s life cycle. Even before release this game has been in a downward spiral, with the open beta last summer that gave everyone access to try the game early being pretty much unplayable to multiple delays to the initial release date of the game Battlefield has taken many many hits but DICE and EA are trying to turn this around with multiple hotfixes and patches to build up to the release of Season 1.

Season 1 is DICE and EA‘s attempt to copy the unbelievable success of Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone‘s battle pass, a live service with plenty of features and unlockables for gamers to earn whilst playing with friends and against others in online competitive modes. Battlefield 2042 has taken such a reputation hit over the last 6 months with players leaving in droves with the PC edition of the game dropping below 1,000 concurrent players in April, a truly shocking amount from such a popular run of titles, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 1, 4 and 5 all being massive successes for DICE and their publisher EA.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson was quoted last week.

This is one of the great franchises of our industry, built by one of the great teams in the industry, and our expectations are it’s going to continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come.

This comes after many fans suggesting that EA and DICE have given up the crumbling franchise after flagship Halo Infinite was released with fans loving the newest addition to the long running franchise. Andrew Wilson had denied claims that Halo Infinite made Battlefields issues look more prominent after Halo’s impromptu release of a free multiplayer for all Xbox players.

Through all the stumbles EA are hell bent on sticking with Battlefield 2042 with multiple quality of life updates and listening to fans requests to add features that were expected such as a dynamic leaderboard to check on your stats mid-game(something that should’ve been featured since release). So does the future finally look bright for Battlefield 2042.

Being a Call of Duty fan all my life I never really gave Battlefield any of my personal attention even after reading some amazing reviews about the game.

My experience with Battlefield 1 was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever felt in my gaming life. The feel to the game was incredible and I hate to say it, but this could be the end of Call of Duty for me personally.

The first thing I noticed about Battlefield was the opening screen and I was amazed by how much effort the producers had obviously put in to this. Even the little details such as the thumbnails of different game modes you can play are just so detailed. It is also very easy to use so all first time battlefield players are not going to find it difficult to use!

I don’t normally look for small details when it comes to loading screens when playing games. However, Battlefield 1 puts you in a position where you will notice it without any effort of trying to find these little details. The matchmaking screen where you see the world, makes the player really feel like you are about to go in to a full blown battle against people from around the entire world and not just your country.

When you actually get to enter the battlefield you get a choice of classes to choose from to match your playing style and these are:

• Assault
• Medic
• Support
• Scout

When playing the Beta I tried every single class and my favourite was definitely a Scout. A sniper rifle has never felt so real virtually. The aiming was on point and every shot if on target will take their health down.

The gameplay as a whole was incredible and I really enjoyed my time playing Battlefield 1 and if you have not had the chance to give it a go, I highly recommend this game.

With Gamescom getting underway this week, we have been gifted with an amazing new Battlefield 1 trailer. In the latest trailer we get a much deeper look at the gameplay of the upcoming Battlefield release, and it looks spectacular!

Ariel duels, horse-based combat and the absolute beast of the armoured train are all heavily shown off in the latest trailer.

Not only did we get an amazing new trailer, we also received some huge news on the beta. DICE announced that the beta will begin August 31^st and that we will be able to play two game modes, Conquest (64 players) or Rush (24 players).

Only one map will actually feature in the beta which is the Sinai Desert. There may only be one map in the beta but it does include a controllable armoured train, ridable horses and three different Elite Classes.

For anyone who can’t wait for the beta, you will be able to check out a livestream at 19:00 on August 16^th unless you’re lucky enough to be able to play at Gamescom this week.

Battlefield 1 is due for release in late October and is currently in a closed alpha mode which only a handful of people have access to. The rest of us are all waiting for the beta to release which could be sooner than you think.

The Battlefield community manager of Germany, Sebastian Moritz, has confirmed that the beta will be released “shortly after” gamescom. Moritz revealed this during a livestream with a Twitch streamer named CommanderKrieger.

The announcement was in German but was translated by Reddit and Twitter user, Patrick K.

Gamescom takes place from 17^th August to 21^st August so we could definitely see the beta before the beginning of September.

Battlefield insiders will get early access to the beta, up to three days before everyone else.

Just remember, this isn’t the completed game!

At EA Play, we were lucky enough to see a brand new trailer for Battlefield 1 which is set to come out later this year. A new trailer isn’t all we got. We now have some brand new information on what this highly anticipated game will be like.

The first big news was that Battlefield 1 will see the introduction of dynamic weather. The change in weather during the games isn’t just for show. The weather will impact how you see and how you hear enemy/ friendly gunfire. This will make players change the way they play during the game.

Battlefield 1 will see the return of controlling vehicles. Players will be able to control airships, battleships and even armoured trains. This gives the players more control over how they want to play and gives more possibilities to play.

Also returning is the destruction of buildings. The more damage you do on a building, the more it will fall apart. This is a very realistic feature that is a part of Battlefield and something the players loved when it was introduced into the Battlefield franchise.

Battlefield 1 really is shaping up to be an incredible game. Going back in time rather than forward was a huge decision and I think it was the right one. Check out the new trailer below. If it doesn’t get you pumped for Battlefield 1, I don’t know what will.

Last Friday, EA announced their upcoming Battlefield title which is set to be named Battlefield 1. The game will be set in World War 1 and is due for release October 21^st.

Battlefield will include battles in the air, which will feature dogfighting in biplanes and strafing runs. The battles on land will feature trench warfare as I’m sure you would expect, along with tank warfare and the inclusion of mustard gas and gas masks. The game will also have many battles in the sea just like Battlefield games before, featuring entirely controllable battleships.

This Battlefield game has also been focused on melee warfare a lot more than games before. Battlefield 1 will feature bayonets, sabres and even shovels to help beat down your opponents on the battlefield. This new increased use of melee weapons is shown a lot in the trailer.

A number of locations have been confirmed for the setting of the game which includes France, Italy and even the Arabian Desert. More locations will be announced in the build up to the release of the game.

This year Battlefield and Call of Duty have taken completely different paths. Call of Duty are going very far into the future and setting their game in space whereas Battlefield will see us all go back to the Great War. It will be interesting to see which game users prefer.

EA and Origin Access subscribers will have early access to Battlefield 1 which will start October 18^th  giving players a three day head start. You can also get early access to the game by purchasing Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition which will include:
