The Epic Games Store has launched its ‘Mega Sale‘ with a massive discount on more than 1,600 games!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Promotion will run for the next 4 weeks up until June 16th.

Epic has announced that over 1,600 games and add-ons with discounts of up to 75%. Alongside this gigantic sale on their online store, Epic have also delivered a free coupon to all Epic Games Store accounts worth 25% off purchases priced at, or combining to, £11.99. While this Mega Sale is happening, for the next four weeks gamers will be able to get their hands on free games with Epic Games Store’s “four weeks of blockbuster free tentpole games” starting with very popular title Borderlands 3, now available until May 26th, In 2021, the Epic giveaways began with NBA 2K21 but Epic has yet announce future free titles.

Epic Games Store sales are bound to continue in 2022 with the summer sale following in July and because of this, the storefront has safely secured a spot in the gaming landscape, providing some much-needed competition to Valve and Steam.

I’m back in black baby! Which is to say, I’m reporting on recent statements from Overwatch 2 staff regarding how Bobby Kotick contributed to slowing down development.

In the immortal words of Shaun Andjen, “I may not know much about fine art, but I do know how to kick a man when he’s down“.

Tracy Kennedy (Professional Rhyming Name-Haver), a producer on Overwatch 1&2, opened up recently regarding issues developers were facing, largely caused by Bobby Kotick (Professional Trash-Mammal). So, let’s unpack this, shall we?

Monsieur Kotique would reportedly repeatedly ‘shove “random projects for OW1″‘ for the devs working on Overwatch 2. This contributed to resources being spread thinner than marmite on unbuttered rivita.

Kennedy also alleged the team had to work overtime to keep up with Kocktick’s demands, resulting in various projects getting scraped in service of keeping the content train running for Overwatch 1.

Tracy Kennedy brought up these claims in response to a recent Bobby Kotick interview, wherein he claimed the Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 delays were major reasons for his leave… I don’t think Bobby’s lying here, maybe he magically realized that his lack of business skills are only matched by his lack of basic human decency.

Feel free to have a butcher’s at Tracy’s tweet if you’re in the mood for putting another anti-Kotick zinger on the spit.

Tracy Kennedy’s statements (as far as I’m aware) haven’t been backed up or denied by other Activision Blizzard staff (ex or otherwise). But let’s not mince words, if bossman says what the bossman wants, then bossman’s wants what’s driving the bossman’s business down, see?

I’ll stop doing that when it stops being funny to read those sections in a 1920s-style radio commentator voice! And on a vaguely-related note, I was today years old when I found out Jimmy Stewart took part in a celebrity roast of Dean Martin! Guess I know what I’ll be up to on my off-hours. Some have studied The Blade. I studied The Roast!

“I swear officer, I HAD to research Final Fantasy Ahegao Lingerie Twink Hentai, for my job”! For the dreadfully uninitiated, hentai is… Well, art, yes, but largely refers to animated and drawn adult entertainment that many a man, woman, or non-binary of culture may pleasure themselves with. So consider this my ode to hentai. An elegy to Tifa’s tetas. A sonnet to Strife in drag. A heart-rending oration on Aerith’s flesh-flower! A church-mandated approval of fellatio from Professor Hojo!

What government did this erotically hilarious farce happen to? Japan, the great originators of the Hentai arts? Perhaps America, pretty big anime communities there. In a shocking twist of events, this was actually an Italian governmental affair!

The situation occurred on January 17th, while Senator Maria Laura Mantovani hosted a Zoom discussion on the distribution of open data. Little did she know that she’d be seeing a distribution of data of a very different variety!

According to ANSA the first half of the lengthy meeting (3 HOURS) was going smoothly… Then came (possibly in more ways than one) the turn of Giorgio Parisi to talk (Nobel Prize-winning Physicist in 2021).

It was at this point a video of Tifa Lockheart getting railed interrupted the meeting for 30 seconds! Even after being removed, there were a couple lingering sounds at times. There’s a possibility this was work of a hacker troll, but based on those ‘lingering sounds’ accounts, I’m inclined to believe this was a moreso a pornographic whodunnit involving one or more of our Zoomers.

Do we have footage of the situation? Yes we do, as posted to Twitter down-low by one ‘Ducktor Naldush’. Your work is sorely appreciated Mr Naldush!

Speaking of appreciating the work of others, I’d have loved to credit the artist for that Cloud Strife twink pic for the thumbnail, but the artist tag was cropped out. And while I’m on my Van-Gogh shaped soap box, I’ll also throw in a dash of “support rights for sex workers of all kinds” on the offhand this blog ends up in some puritanical SWERF group where anything outside straight marital missionary is considered a gateway to hell.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is an upcoming 75-Player large Battle Royale featuring various aspects of Final Fantasy VII’s combat system. This month, Square Enix has announced the game will release in November 2021. The game will also include controller support, a training mode, a revamped tutorial, various exchangeable pieces from monsters for items, a new Ninja gameplay style for all my fellow filthy weebs, and more. The option to pre-order and pre-register was made live earlier today, so if you haven’t already, dash to the App Store or Google Play Store and see what’s up.

For the game’s trailer, have a butcher’s right here. SO many cool fighting classes! You got ninjas, sorcerers, sword-wielding motorcycle nuts and basically every flavor of weeb fantasy nerd combat class under the sun.

If you’re in the mood to relive the fun or are just a newcomer wondering what the fuss is about, have a butcher’s round our store for various Final Fantasy games including the 7 remake, Zodiac Age and more.

The pre-registration campaign includes special gifts for all players with a Shinra Helicopter skin being given away at 2 million pre-registrations.

The app store has Final Fantasy VII First Soldier listed for a November 30th release with a download size of around 1.6GB. Much like Fortnite, the game is free to play, but will include optional purchasable ‘Shinra Credit Sets’. Hopefully this means they’ll make the ‘Shintranet’ from Final Fantasy 7 Machinabridged a thing!

Considering how many character classes there are shown off in the trailer, my best guess is the class system may work similarly to Apex Legends‘ character purchasing system. That is to say, I think it would very easy (but also sucky as takoyaki) to make it so you can only get one fighter class for free and then have to pay extra legal tender in order to be allowed to switch between multiple. Probably won’t happen, but I’ve been on a Jimquisition bender lately and the anti-lootbox fairies in my brain are grinding my gears.

A Brief Appeal to More Academically-Minded Readers:

Speaking of addiction, one of my favorite lecturers from University of Surrey was Catherine Sloan. She’s done prison workshops and various other works critically analyzing cultural reactions and creative ways of exploring addiction, as well as various ways of discussing helping addicted people. Have a butcher’s round Google Scholar if you want to give her work a try. She also introduced me to YouTuber Tom Nicholas, who makes academic video essays, even made a video analysing the Neoliberal Economics of Animal Crossing… Petition to refer to neoliberalism as The Tom Nook economy!

5 Black Game Characters You Might Have Heard of

Black History Month is coming to an end and we think it’s time to have some appreciation posts rolling in for the games industry. We don’t get to hear much about the representation of black characters in video games too often. This month we’ve decided to put a number of games that have amazing black main protagonists or characters in games.

1. Dr Eva Rosalene – To The Moon

Dr Eva Rosalene is one of the three main protagonists in ‘To The Moon‘. She is not only witty, but she’s smart and observant, she also shares a loving bond with her partner Dr Neil Watts. She plays a massive role in the story and To The Moon is a story-driven game developed by Freebird Games, and is about two doctors who travel through an old man’s memories to fulfil his dying wish. There is also the sequel called Finding Paradise, where Dr Eva Rosalene makes her return.

4. Barret Wallace – Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Barret Wallace VA played by John Eric Bentley, and is a supporting character in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and certainly a very memorable one. Despite his strong attitude, rash decisions and he may not be the brightest at times, but there is one thing for sure. Barret cares about his family, he cares about his team and he cares about society, which is why he is working so hard to do what he does. Barret goes through a lot of character development and you go from hating Barret to eventually loving his character.  Final Fantasy is one of the biggest JRPG franchises at the moment, Final Fantasy 7 Remake being a very popular one and even owned a spot on the PlayStation 5.

3. Spider-Man Miles Morales

Spider-Man Miles Morales VA by Nadji Jeter, we couldn’t leave him out. Miles is a great example of character development, the gameplay is carried by the wild, young, personality of Miles and his heroic actions after being dumped with a bunch or huge responsibilities…like saving the city. Spider-Man Miles Morales has been one of the best PlayStation Games sold and is in the top 10 of the best games for the PS5 so far.

4. Frey Holland – Forspoken

Recently at the PlayStation Showcase, Forspoken – a next-gen game had a gameplay trailer, starring Ella Balinska who is voice acting the main protagonist – Frey Holland in Forspoken. She is not only a voice actor but she has been working to help the game feel alive through her body movements, facial expressions with performance capture and much more. Ella is also well known for her acting in various movies such as Charlie’s Angels, The Athena and British TV series Midsomer Murders.  Forspoken will without a doubt be one of the biggest games to release by Square Enix in 2022, it’s lovely to see a black female protagonist coming up in such a great title.

5. Black Panther

Lastly, we have another Hero from the Marvel Universe and that is Black Panther. In Marvel’s Avengers, an expansion pack DLC was released for Black Panther, named War of Wakanda. The Voice Actor is Christopher Judge, who is well known for his acting in The Dark Knight Rises, Stargate and Stargate: The Ark of Truth. War of Wakanda is a great DLC and is highly recommended. Not only is Black Panther seen as a hero, but he is seen as a leader who offers guidance to his community, as we know very well after having seen from the movies.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released initially as a PlayStation exclusive, but this was only to be for a limited time. The PlayStation timed exclusive for Final Fantasy 7 Remake is thought to have lasted at least six months from debut, with the exclusivity presumably having been reset once Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade released PS5. Given that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade was launched on June 10, it’s reasonable to assume that the game will be released on additional systems in December.

At the time of writing, nothing formal has been revealed, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake is still exclusively confirmed for PlayStation systems. Xbox China, on the other hand, recently sent out a tweet that, although not an exact translation, was essentially a poll inviting fans to choose from a range of “Xbox” characters. The vote centred on ladies from various Xbox titles, and interestingly, Tifa Lockhart was featured in the list, despite Final Fantasy 7 Remake only being available on PlayStation thus far. Maybe it was about other Final Fantasy titles on Xbox, but it just seems a bit strange considering that they’re not what Xbox is known for.

How Likely are we to See Ports of Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

Xbox China removed the poll and replaced it with a different one that did not include Tifa as an option. It’s feasible that the poll was intended to be a reference to the original Final Fantasy 7, which is available on Xbox, and that the tweet was removed to prevent misunderstanding. It’s also plausible however that the tweet effectively revealed the existence of a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox port. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, an FF7 Remake Xbox version could be on the way.

While there isn’t much evidence to support Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to Xbox, the game’s PlayStation exclusivity won’t remain forever, and it only makes sense for Square Enix to release it across all platforms. Even though there hasn’t been as many leaks regarding a prospective Final Fantasy 7 Remake for Xbox platforms, there have been some talks of a PC port.

Multiple leaks have suggested that a Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC port is in the works, and if Square Enix is willing and able to deliver the game to PC, an Xbox release shouldn’t be far behind. Hopefully we will have more official news soon, as I would love to be able to experience the Final Fantasy 7 Remake for myself.
