SNK’s next game in the “King of Fighters” series  is set to launch soon and will be available in beta on PS4 and PS5 in “less than a month”.

During Play station’s “state of play” stream yesterday, SNK introduced “King of Fighters XV”’s latest character, Dolores, and also gave details on the upcoming beta for the game

The open beta will begin at 3am GMT on the 20th of November, and run until the 23rd of November at 2.59 am. The beta will have access to Delores, along with all of the other King of Fighters characters currently confirmed for the game. The game itself will launch properly on the 17th of February, 2022

“King of fighters” is one of the older fighting game franchises out there, starting back in 1994, with the last entry coming out back in 2016 with “king of fighters XIV”. The Franchise regularly gets airtime at EVO, effectively the fighting game Olympics, and that was actually where “King of Fighter XV” was originally announced.

The word Beta is screaming out here for Battlefield 2042. Please remember before the critics come running out and disowning a game a month before the official release. This is for testing bugs of the final product, and there may well be bugs at launch; luckily, it’s 2021, and fixes will be available. DICE themselves have already stated that the Beta is ‘months old’ and the wrinkles should be ironed out by release or already have been.

The time for eager fans of games to hype up release so much that if it’s not perfect on release is a terrible game should be a thing of the past. This ought to have been learned a year ago.   

So far, the gameplay is a refreshing take on the FPS game industry needed since Battlefield 4 was released in 2014.

Apart from the occasional frame drops, no other bugs were experienced from the first play. However, after a few hours of extensive gameplay, more became apparent. Bright flickering randomly and a wobbly screen whilst a passenger in offensive vehicles were the most notable.

The map, Orbital, is massive and, so far, haven’t managed to traverse through most of it, mostly lingering around the rocket to catch a glimpse of it taking off. This I managed to gain from a front-row seat, ziplining up the metal structure close to the event, and pitching a tent. Yes, it got a bit boring, but I did catch the occasional opposition players off guard when trying to do the same. It’s good to note here that this event is random and doesn’t happen in every game.

The event is so immersive, and the DualShock 5 came into its element with its haptic feedback function. This function did have a mind of its own, though, as sometimes would switch off completely. The rocket can also be destroyed mid-take-off via player interaction.

The guns shot through the PlayStations Dual Shock 5 controller feels solid and realistic to the feel. Still, the adaptive trigger doesn’t seem to be utilised so far, something that many decide to disable anyway, especially if it’s as distracting as to how strong Call of Duty Cold War made it.

The plus system is excellent! The smoothness of this system is a crucial factor here. From experience, there was no lag time and didn’t hinder performance. Obviously, there’s a time, and a place to be using this, in the middle of a gunfight wouldn’t be ideal. Switching the attachments for the positions you find yourself in, whether close quarters, mid-range or long distance, there are attachments available for all. The one problem experienced, though, was sometimes selecting a specific attachment would fail and select the next one, but quickly rectifiable.

343 Industries has announced the date for its next Halo Infinite multiplayer preview and everyone and their mum can participate

Halo Infinite‘s release date is getting closer and closer as we enter the last 4 months of this year, which also means there is another multiplayer preview of the highly-anticipated release coming up, and it’s very soon.

And this time, 343 Industries have confirmed anyone is able to join and enjoy being a part of the beta test.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Preview

The Halo Infinite multiplayer preview will take place on September 24 and you have until September 14 to sign-up to be able to participate.

All you need to do is sign-up for the Halo Insider programme before next Tuesday, and then you just have to wait 10 more days before you can try out the next instalment in the franchise.

The multiplayer preview will include access to the 4v4 multiplayer and Big Team Battle modes for people to test for the first time, along with regular Bot Arena and Academy Weapon Drills bot modes that were used in the previous preview.

343 Industries also tested a variety of maps for Halo Infinite in the previous preview, so there may be more new maps to test out for the Big Team Battle mode.

These beta tests have proven to be very successful, for both the testers and 343 Industries, as the developers have been taking everything the beta testers have said into account, including changing the new radar system that nobody really liked, to a more traditional iteration of the radar in previous Halo games.

Halo Infinite releases on December 8, however, it has been confirmed that at launch, players won’t be able to edit multiplayer levels in Forge mode or play the campaign mode cooperatively with friends. It has also been confirmed Halo Infinite will not have assassins at launch either.

Battlefield 1 is due for release in late October and is currently in a closed alpha mode which only a handful of people have access to. The rest of us are all waiting for the beta to release which could be sooner than you think.

The Battlefield community manager of Germany, Sebastian Moritz, has confirmed that the beta will be released “shortly after” gamescom. Moritz revealed this during a livestream with a Twitch streamer named CommanderKrieger.

The announcement was in German but was translated by Reddit and Twitter user, Patrick K.

Gamescom takes place from 17^th August to 21^st August so we could definitely see the beta before the beginning of September.

Battlefield insiders will get early access to the beta, up to three days before everyone else.

Just remember, this isn’t the completed game!
