Earlier this week we reported on the announcement that PUBG Battlegrounds (I am just going to be calling it PUBG from here on out, “Player Unknowns Battleground Battlegrounds” is A stupid name). With this change, PUBG will be getting some new anti-cheat measures, and there are some fears that this could affect the game working on the upcoming Steam Deck.

Back at the start of 2021, PUBG introduced Zakynthos, a Proprietary anti cheat solution, and one the devs claim helped them dump 28% more cheaters than last year. Now they are Tightening the anticheats effectiveness, including the implementation of Kernel drivers… which could be a problem.

Kernel Drivers are a windows thing, and don’t work in the Linux architecture. Valve may have a solution to this, they have made some big promises in regards to the steam decks compatibility. However only time will tell if this actually works out.

The post PUBG going F2P may be bad for steam deck first appeared on Get2Gaming.

After being around for years, and continually losing relevance in the genre it founded, PUBG has finally bit the bullet and will be going free to play. The Announcement was revealed during this year’s game awards. According to a press release on PUBG’s website, the free to play model rewards players that have been with the game for years while also offering Unique rewards to entice new players.

The Free to play Goes live on January 12th, 22. When this happens, a new “BattleGrounds +” mode will become available for purchase at a cost of $12.99. This will unlock ranked mode, Career and Medal Tab, +100% Survival Mastery Boost, Unlocks the custom Match mode, and also give access to a host of cosmetic items exclusive to Battlegrounds +.

Older players will automatically earn the special commemorative pack once the Free to play change happens. These players will need to have purchased the game by January 10th, 2022 to earn the items in this pack. How you get the items will vary depending on platform, but all eligible players will gain them automatically. If you are on Playstation or Xbox, once free to play comes in, you will not need PS+ or Xbox Live to play online.

PUBG has gone through the wringer over the years, with them distancing themselves from the games creator, the eponymous “Player Unknown”, and the rebranding to “PUBG Battlegrounds”, which I refuse to call it out of Principle.

The biggest games are about to crossover to celebrate the release of Arcane

Only one more day to go before Arcane premieres on Netflix and the promotion for the show based on one of the biggest games of all time is now spreading across to some of the other biggest games of all time.

Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have both received the Arcane treatment and are offering exclusives for fans of the show to enjoy in their worlds.

Arcane Crossovers

Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers when it comes to games, movies, and even music being promoted through the online game by inspired skins and patches being added to the game for a limited time. Arcane is no exception when it comes to this, as one of the protagonists in the show, Jinx, has arrived on Fortnite.

Players are able to buy the “Arcane Jinx Outfit” in the item shop, along with items from the Arcane: League of Legends Set. You can have some fun with Jinx’s Dream Monkey Back Bling, and pick up the Pow Pow Crusher Pickaxe, made from surplus Pow Pow parts. You can also purchase some music from the Arcane Original Soundtrack.

Epic Games also announced League of Legends has arrived in its store, along with Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Valorant, for the chance to get people into the League universe.

PUBG Mobile has also tapped into the RiotX Arcane celebrations by bringing the world of Runeterra onto the island of Erangel. Players can experience Arcane-inspired weapons and gear, characters, and map locations taking over PUBG MOBILE once the 1.7 update hits in mid-November during RiotX Arcane.

Both collaborations are bringing Arcane to a wider game community and are allowing everyone to experience it- no matter what their preferred game is.

Arcane drops on Netflix on November 6.

The post League of Legends: Fortnite and PUBG Receiving Crossovers Ahead of Arcane first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Developer Krafton has announced that PUBG: New State, their newest mobile game, will be available for download on November 11, 2021.

The release date for the new title was disclosed as part of a media demonstration emphasising the new features coming to the PUBG Mobile sequel, which would provide iOS and Android mobile players with the “full, uncompromised battle royale gaming experience currently available in PUBG: Battlegrounds.”

Krafton and PUBG Studios claims that New State will be “one of the most realistic and technologically advanced mobile games to date,” as it places players in the future metropolis of Troi in the year 2051.

In the hour-long presentation, the game’s creators discussed how New State will set the bar for future battle royale games, starting with its graphical capabilities.

What’s New in PUBG: New State

New State will leverage cutting-edge rendering technologies, including global illumination, auto instancing, and auto-exposure, to bring its mobile gaming experience up to par with the PC version of PUBG. Thanks to these new graphics upgrades, the gunplay system has also been entirely overhauled and looks impressive.

New State’s stunning visuals will not be restricted to those with the most up-to-date mobile technology. During the presentation, Krafton said that the game has been optimised for most players, as seen by the game’s lenient system requirements: iOS 13 or later on at least an iPhone 6S, and Android OS 6 on any Android device with at least 2GB RAM.

In PUBG: New State, players will be able to enjoy new gameplay elements such as weapon customisation and a drone store, as well as a unique recruiting system that allows players to enlist adversaries to their squad, which I think is pretty cool actually.

Gun someone down, pick them up – you will fight for me now! It creates the opportunity for some fun and tense moments between players. I’m wondering if friendly fire will be enabled, meaning you can take petty pot shots for revenge when their back is turned. But no body would even think of doing that, right? Similarly to other PUBG titles, New State will be updated regularly with new content, gameplay tweaks and “a season-based service focused on gameplay balance and fun.”

PUBG: New State will be available for download on November 11, 2021.

K-pop keeps growing from strength to strength ever since the rest of the world caught up to its catchy tunes, from artists such as PSY, BIGBANG, Girls Generation, and BTS. However, there’s one k-pop group, in particular, that is making a big impact in the gaming world.

BLACKPINK, the all-female girl group with over 1 billion views on YouTube has signed up to not one, but two video game crossovers for fans to get excited about, both dropping this week to celebrate the group’s 5th anniversary.

BLACKPINK x PUBG

BLACKPINK is coming to PlayerUnkown’s Battleground for their own crossover event, bringing along more in-game items, special missions, and themed map elements. This isn’t the first time the k-pop group has appeared in the online battle royale game, as their single “How You Like That” was previously featured on PUBG Mobile for a limited time to promote their upcoming album at the time.

The announcement was released in a trailer that showed a glimpse of what players could expect from the crossover event. There will be 35 items added in total, including hot-pink weapon skins, k-pop themed parachutes, and their own cosmetic bundles for each member which includes exclusive “themed hair, an outfit, a nameplate, helmet, weapon and emote.” These bundles are available to purchase now until the end of the year.

Players will also be able to participate in “special in-game event missions” to earn points- surviving in the top 10 and lasting a 15-minute match without dying. If the player earns enough points, they have a chance to acquire some exclusive BLACKPINK-themed items, including a level three helmet and contraband coupons. These items will only be available between August 18 and September 7, so better act fast.

BLACKPINK x ACNH

For BLACKPINK’s other crossover event, the K-pop group are moving to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with their very own island. This event is to specifically celebrate their 5th year anniversary and is dropping at some point today.

The island is cleverly titled “In Your Area Island” after their catchphrase that can be heard at the beginning of each of their songs. It was announced by their agency YG Entertainment and via a teaser trailer. It shows parts of the island along with a pink-themed DJ booth, a merchandise stand with BLACKPINK-inspired outfits plus more.

PUBG Players must make a sacrifice if they want to play Battlegrounds Mobile India with all their PUBG Data. They can choose that, or start from scratch but they must be warned as it is one or the other.

There isn’t much of a difference between the two games, but what BattleGrounds Mobile India does offer, is a new immersive gaming experience. After downloading  Battlegrounds Mobile India, the player will have the option to transfer all of their blood, sweat and tears from  PUBG Mobile. This includes skins, emotes, weapons and many unlockable items that their hard work has obtained. It’s not a difficult process and quite easy to accomplish, it just needs a social media account such as Facebook or Twitter, linked to your gaming account. If they choose this option they will no longer be able to play PUBG Mobile with that account.

If a player that has transferred their data attempts to open PUBG Mobile, they will be disappointed to come across a message that reads “Your account data has migrated to another version. Cannot log in to this version. Please download the correct version before trying again.”. If the individual player has teamed up with international players, it can become an issue as Battlegrounds Mobile India is only available for India itself. Though surprising this shouldn’t be an issue for most who are wanting to enjoy the new and exclusive BGMI.
