Indie Developer, OtyugraGames has been forced to announce the cancelation of a Nintendo 3ds port of their upcoming Horror-Roguelike called “dream-Prison wanderer”, which they had previously said was coming to Nintendo’s dual screen system. In a long reddit post at the beginning of the month, Otyugra claimed Nintendo was “indirectly” responsible for this decision, making both physical and digital publishing “utterly infeasible” on the 3DS platform.

In direct response to recent actions by Nintendo (some of which are confidential), we at Otyugra decided we must cancel Dream-Prison Wanderer's port to the New 3DS family of systems. We tried to make it happen from May 2019 until today, for as long as possible.

In the very same update, the developers confirmed the game was still in development for Windows, with the game scheduled for a 2023 release date, as well as adding that there would be consideration given to releasing the game on other platforms in the future

This is just a symptom of the clse of the 3DS and wii U E-shops, which as set to shut permanently in march 2023.

In an interview with 3ds eshop developers earlier this month, Nintendo Life revealed that these developers had not received notification ahead of schedule about the E-shops closure. One developer even specifically stated that the older eshop games had paid for their office rent in 2021.

Big news for Pokémon fans everywhere, Pokkén Tournament, a Pokémon fighting game previously only available as an arcade title in Japan is coming to the Wii U!

Developed by Tekken publisher Bandai Namco, we should see a worldwide release for Spring 2016.

Nintendo’s favourite plumber is back with a whole new experience. 

The Mario experience all fans have dreamt off is about to arrive in September, giving the gamer full control over what levels they play in… after all they are going to create them. Play a near-limitless number of creative Super Mario levels in the upcoming game, whether they are the 100 pre-built levels, the ones you produce or the levels that are shared from players all around the world.

With the ease of using the Wii U GamePad controller to sketch out your levels, users can let their imagination run wild and produce some never-seen before levels that weren’t possible in the traditional Mario games. Super Mario Maker producers have thought of Mario fans over the generations and the game will consist of four different distinct themes throughout, containing different art styles and features from: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Part of producing the levels also involves the enemies and objects you bring into play. The game has all the classic objects, such as the blocks and pipes, and of course all the traditional enemies; Koopa Troopa, Lakitu, Piranha Plant, Bullet Bill, Chain Chomp, and it wouldn’t be a Mario game without Bowser. Not all original Mario games would give you the power to build a tower of 10 Goombas, make a Goomba wear a Piranha Plant on its head or even as crazy as a Hammer Bros. riding on Bowser while bouncing on a trampoline. Arguably, one of the greatest games ever, is back and available to download on the Wii U.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising have all been released on the Wii U Virtual Console yesterday. Virtual Console games are just some of the titles that Wii U users can purchase from the Nintendo eShop.

You can buy The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem for £8.99 each or Advance Wars 2 for £6.29.

Miiverse is now set for a redesign and NEW features, coming this Summer

the 3DS & Wii U will be looking a whole lot different after it’s been updated, and players will be able to take 100 screenshots that will be available in personal albums so that other users won’t be able to see them. as well as this, a new play journal feature will be installed. this will allow players to record their thoughts on games as they’re playing them. this feature is a replacement of the activity feed, so you won’t be able to use this activity feed once the updates are installed.

Communities will be redesigned as well, and you can see more information on this in three separate sections. The photo above shows this.

the final change is that you’ll be able to post in succession more regularly. not including in-game posts, you can post up to 30 comments/posts a day.

There is not yet a set date for the Miiverse updates beyond “summer”, but we’d imagine it’ll be some time soon.

Tower Control Mode for Splatoon to be released 1st July, ahead of first Splatfest.

The new mode will be added to Ranked Battle alongside Splat Zones, it will launch 1st July, 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern in North America and will launch 2nd July, 3am UK / 4am CET in Europe.

Nintendo describes the game mode: “Hop aboard the tower placed in the middle of the map, and ride it to your opponent’s goal. Stay sharp – you’ll have to protect whoever’s riding the tower from enemy attacks! Once someone jumps onto the tower, it starts moving along a set path toward the other team’s goal. If the tower doesn’t arrive at either goal before time runs out, the team that’s moved it closest toward their opponent’s goal wins. Ride the tower all the way into the other team’s goal though, and you’ll get a decisive knockout victory.”

Iwata, of Nintendo, fears that competitors may take their NX ideas

Did you ever wonder who Nintendo merely skimmed over the NX during their E3 2015 presentation? Well it seems that the head of Nintendo, Iwata, has all the answers to that!

In a call yesterday, Iwata said “we can’t talk about the NX,”. “If we do, competitors may take our ideas and customers won’t be surprised.” He has also stated that support for the Wii U and 3DS would continue for the time being.

“This would not be beneficial for the company or its shareholders,” Iwata has added. “The NX is new hardware, and will start from 0. However, the 3DS and Wii U have install bases. Immediately cutting off software for previous hardware upon the release of a new machine is inefficient.”

“We will continue making 3DS and Wii software while preparing for the NX. We are prioritizing satisfying customers who purchased the Wii U.”

Super Mario Maker – 100 pre-built levels 

Super Mario Maker, for the Wii U, comes with a level editor which lets you download and play levels that have been created by members of the community. According to the game’s official UK website, if you don’t really fancy creating your own Mario levels, you can play from 100 pre-made courses!

Nintendo have really upped their game with this one, as only 32 levels were available on the NES for the original Super Mario Bros., and they’re currently on par with more recent games such as New Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Maker was shown at E3 2015 last week, and Nintendo had a variety of levels available to play, most of which were not created by professional level designers, but by artists, programmers and members of Nintendo’s Treehouse localization team.

Super Mario Maker will be made available for the Wii U on 11th September 2015, and we can’t wait!

Splatoon flies beyond 1m sales worldwide!

Nintendo has announced today that it’s online, and very colourful, shooter game has now sold more than a million copies. This figure includes both physical and digital downloads from the Wii U eShop. 230k were sold in Europe, 368k in North America and 476k in Japan. Nintendo has also said that “thousands” of new players are still joining every day!

The developer has been constantly unlocking new modes, weapons, and maps to the game, and will continue to do so over the summer. This is all for keeping the game fresh.

An upcoming Splatfest tournament, for a limited time, will see the game dive into darkness and have the team-based paint-firing take place with the lights off. Definitely up for giving that one a go!

Hyrule Warriors Legends

A recent interview with the producer of Hyrule Warriors Legends, Yosuke Hayashi, sheds light on even more characters being added to the Zelda universe – “I can’t go into details yet, but we plan to add new character(s) other than Tetra and King of Hyrule. There are fan favorites and surprising characters in the game, so I’d be happy if you kept guessing who will join the fight while waiting for follow-up information.”

With Hyrule Warriors Legends announced to come to the 3DS at some point, this is a great way to start or relive the experience, which was originally released on the Wii U. As we ll as this, it was confirmed at Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event that Hyrule Warriors Legends will come with all the DLC from the original title.

So many possible characters for the game are floating in the air! Perhaps Medli? Or maybe Saria, a more staple character? We shall have to wait and see!
