Sony is expanding its galaxy-themed color options for its controllers, adding three new colors to its PS5 DualSense offerings
New colours for the PS5 DualSense controller have been announced online, as the PS5 DualSense controller is getting three new colors. PlayStation is now starting to flush out its DualSense color options a year after the release of the PS5 and eight months after its first new colors were made available.
“Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple” had been released in accordance with the space theme. These flashy new colors will join the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black offerings that were released in early 2021. These new colors now bring the color options of the DualSense controllers to six, including the base White.
According to PlayStation, these new colors will be released in January 2022. The controllers will be released through “participating retailers” as well as PlayStation Direct. A specific release date has not yet been finalized.
The controller has been popular in the gaming community due to its haptic feedback system that gives players an extra layer of immersion in the games they play that have DualSense support. The function has received acclaim from a wide range of figures throughout the gaming industry, from first-party studios, third-party collaborators, even Xbox’s Phil Spencer.
It’s still the early days of the PlayStation 5 and the DualSense controller. Even so, fans have been clamoring for more color availability and customization while Sony cautiously times the release of their products. Sony fans have reverted to creating their own custom controllers in the interim, with some unique and creative results. There also has been a glut of options for that would rather not have a DualSense and prefer controller options from other sources. Third-party peripheral makers Scuf only recently released their line of colorful, but pricey, PS5 controllers as an alternate to the DualSense.
