Dear Reader, I want you to wind your mind back to the summer of 2016 for a moment. England had just been knocked out of the Euros, Drake’s One Dance was blasting across our radio and a certain mobile game had gamers going out far and wide to collect them all. That’s right, we all remember how crazy the Pokemon Go trend was, and it looks like developers Niantic have another trick up their sleeve in 2022.
Niantic have just revealed they will be working on a new title. Rejoice Pokemon Go fans! In fact, rejoice anyone who’s familiar with the studio, as their portfolio extends to much more than just their 2016 hit. Indeed, there’s much to be enjoyed from this company, with their first venture Ingress laying the groundwork for Pokemon Go itself. Whilst they have worked on other games since Pokemon Go, such as Pikmin Bloom, this one has us particularly excited.
However, this upcoming game is far from production, let alone being finished. As such, don’t expect to get your hands on it anytime soon. Niantic Looking For Experienced Talent To Out-Perform Pokemon Go
Here we go then- are your CV’s ready? In their recent job listing Niantic have announced they’ll be looking for Senior Systems Designer to ‘help craft the gameplay systems of a be a new game in its London-based studio’. You see, it’s even local! Now there’s no excuse to jump on that tube and hand over your application in person.
Furthermore, Niantic are searching for someone with experience in AR games and geo-location functionality, which suggests they don’t seem to be changing the their business plan. And why should they? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! It continues to say the company produces games that target real-world exploration and socialising, if you didn’t have enough proof already.
Lastly, you must also have spent time designing and optimising digital mobile games, working with Untiy and specific experience with free-to-play models. Whilst that may sound like a lot, we reckon you can get it covered, can’t you?
