Game publisher, THQ Nordic has created Alkimia Interactive, a new development studio in Spain, with plans to create the Gothic Remake.
The expanding publisher began their operations in the summer of 2020 which is based in Barcelona. Alkimia Interactive has plans to focus mainly on RPGs, beginning the process of the Gothic Remake for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Following the confirmation of the project, Alkima Interactive’s new development studio was created.
THQ Nordic released a statement, saying the development of the remake is ‘well on its way’, as they have plans of releasing the game to the general public within the next few months. The development team is led by Reinhard Pollice who is the studio head. Pollice also has the role of the publisher’s business and product development director.
Alkimia comes as the most recent addition to THQ Nordic’s growing studios, which follows the acquisition of Purple Lamp Studios, who collaborated with the publisher on the remake of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Battle For Bikini Bottom.
As the remake is expected to be released in a few months it is likely Alkimia will keep fans updated with any news.
