Ebb softwares Geiger inspired horror game Scorn has been a bit of a weird beast in the “is it coming out” space since it was successfully kickstarted back in 2017. Its initial release date was 2018, which sailed by without much being said. In Fact this game was kind of MIA for about 3 years, after an announcement that it would be split into two halves (whether that is still true remains to be seen). The game reappeared last year as part of the Xbox Series X fame showcase in may, with the date then stated to be 2021 at some point. Needless to say as its almost christmas now, that didn’t happen
As of right now, the official release date, as shown through a new trailer, is october 2022. Now whether Scorn will actually hit this date is unknown, but even if it misses it comments from the developers seem to suggest that the end is in sight for this game. A post on the kickstarter page states:”We want to ensure that Scorn is the best game it can be. Mysterious, deliciously dark, and oozing with atmosphere (emphasis on the ooze). With that being said, the game will officially be launching in October 2022. This additional time will allow the team to make sure the vision for Scorn comes to life in all its spine-chilling, nightmarish glory. We know that this means a longer wait, especially for our fantastic Kickstarter community, who have been with us since the very beginning. Still, we’re committed to making Scorn the best experience possible for our players and fans.”
Ebb Softwares COE, Ljubomir Peklar, also suggested that the game was at about “75% completion” and that looking ahead “at the coming months, we will be focusing on completing the final 25% of the content, followed by bug fixing and getting the game ready for the launch. We’re very excited to get our game in players’ hands and allow them to experience Scorn for themselves.”
