Nothing comes close to this celebratory event

The day has finally come for Halo fans to get a hold of their copy of Halo Infinite and immerse themselves once more as Master Chief. We have already written loads regarding all the different events and collaborations Xbox has done to celebrate the release, but this one really tops them all.

For a limited time only, Halo fans in the UK will be able to visit London’s Saatchi Gallery to admire a 6-metre wide piece of art specifically commissioned for the first-person shooter series.

Halo at the Saatchi

Xbox commissioned renowned artist Iva Troj to produce a large 6m by 3m painting to display at the Saatchi Gallery for the celebration of Halo Infinite’s launch date.

The painting has been created in a Renaissance art style, the style Troj is most famous for, and depicts Master Chief engaging in battle with his enemies. The painting was so big that Xbox had to build a special cubicle for Trouj and her team to work on it.

The piece of artwork was revealed on the Xbox YouTube channel titled “Masterpiece”, in which a choir stands next to the painting singing the iconic Halo theme.

 

Creating this painting was a labour of love for me. I love the Halo universe and the storytelling in it, and I also know what this work will mean to fans of the series. I wanted to get everything right, from the colours to the characters – I must have drawn and redrawn Master Chief 50 times – and it also had to tell a story. I hope that people see the painting has been created with love and respect for the world of Halo. It was an amazing experience for me. – Iva Trouj

 

It is currently being displayed at the Saatchi Gallery located in Duke of York Square (near Sloane Square Tube Station) for one week only so you better visit quickly! There is also a smaller replica of the piece on display at the Carrousel du Louvre shopping centre in Paris until December 19.

Halo Infinite is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The basketball team was selling limited Halo bundles for one day only at the weekend

Video games and sports often go hand in hand. There have been plenty of collaborations between video game companies and sports brands this year, and over the weekend, we saw another limited, one-time-only collaboration.

The collab was between LA Lakers and Microsoft as the basketball was offering out limited edition Halo bundles at its home game, to celebrate the release of Halo Infinite this week.

LA Lakers Halo Bundle

For one day only, LA Lakers and Microsoft were selling Halo Infinite bundles at the Lakers’ home, the Staples Center, during the team’s home game against the LA Clippers.

The Lakers ended up losing the game with 119-115 being the final score, but the fans won by being offered the Halo bundle, which consisted of a Lakers Swingman-style jersey, a Lakers Custom Xbox Controller, and a Master Chief figure. The Lakers jersey has the name “Master Chief” and the number “117” embroidered on the back, which is incredibly rare since NBA rules stipulate players can only choose numbers between 0-99 for their jersey (although no one goes for the number 69, unsurprisingly).

There are some mixed reviews regarding the collab as not much makes it related to Halo Infinite apart from the jersey’s custom design. The controller doesn’t have anything Halo-related on it and while it is a cool design, it could be for any Xbox franchise.

Yet fans and resellers snapped up the bundles almost immediately and with the price for the bundle being only $20 more than the regular price of a Swingman-style jersey, Microsoft was offering a pretty good deal by throwing in the controller and figure too.

Fortnite leakers are back at it again by leaking the upcoming Dune collab

Something Fortnite and Epic Games have become familiar with are the many collaborations the game has with multiple IPs from different brands. So far this year we have seen Loki, Shang-Chi, and Monopoly don the Fortnite skins and cosmetics.

There’s even a Naruto crossover rumoured to happen.

However, the next collab we are expected to see, thanks to Fortnite dataminers, is one with Dune.

Fortnite x Dune

Dune is the upcoming sci-fi film starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaacs, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson and many more iconic actors, that is based on a sci-fi book that shares the same title, released in 1965. It has already been released in some areas in the world, yet the UK and the US will receive the film in cinemas on October 21 and October 22 respectively.

And with a few days to go until it is finally released everywhere, popular Fortnite leakers such as ShiinaBR, HYPEX, and VenomLeaks decrypted the game’s files and shared what we can expect from the upcoming Fortnite x Dune collab.

The collab will receive skins of Timothée and Zendaya’s characters in the film, along with cosmetics such as Satchels, Harvesting Tools, and Loading Screens.

Sadly there has yet to be a release date announced for the Fortnite x Dune collaboration, yet it is most likely to be released when the film comes out in the US since it is one of the last countries to receive it.

Celebrations for Tomb Raider’s 25th anniversary are underway with this new crossover brought to you by Square Enix

Square Enix has just announced its next collaboration event for War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius with the Lady of Croft Manor herself, Lara Croft.

The tactical role-playing mobile game inspired by the Final Fantasy Tactics series of games will be allowing players to obtain the titular Tomb Raider in a collaboration event coming out in just a couple of days time.

Tomb Raider x War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

The War of the Visions: FFBE official YouTube channel uploaded a video announcing the collaboration for what fans can expect from the collaboration event. Starting on September 22, Lara will appear in War of the Visions with the “Tomb Raider Job Class”. This is an entirely unique Job that only Lara will be exclusive to. Her two Sub Jobs are Ranger and Gunner.

Furthermore, a special Vision Card will be available to obtain for a limited time. The Vision Card is in celebration of Tomb Raider‘s 25th anniversary and is a special illustration of Lara Croft as she appears in the classic iterations of the Tomb Raider series. Players that log in during the event period will be granted the Vision Card.

In order to obtain Lara Croft in War of the Visions: FFBE, players will need to roll on the Tomb Raider collaboration banner.

This isn’t the first crossover event, nor will it be the last. The last crossover was a Final Fantasy VII Remake crossover event that also offered unique characters that could be obtained for a limited time.

The Tomb Raider collaboration starts on September 22 and will be available for a limited time.
