But on February 3rd, Sony and Tango offered all-new details about (and first extended gameplay of) the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, which is slated for a March 25 release on console and Windows PC.

Tango Gameworks the same developers that created Evil Within franchise is back with another scary addition in Ghostwire: Toyko During the new video showcase, Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami asked his co-workers to describe their new game Ghostwire Toyko, which resulted in various different answers. Character designer Reiko Hiroshima, who also worked on the Evil Within franchise called it “paranormal,” while programmer Tsuyoshi Okugawa described the game simply as “authentic Tokyo.” However, game designer Suguru Murakoshi, had an very unexpected response.”

Game Designer Suguru Murakoshi said;

“The origins of it are truly Japanese,” “In a Japanese studio, and a game set in Japan, it’s a game where everyone can find something to love. With some sweet and tangy parts, just like a strawberry shortcake.”

To briefly sum up what the game is about; Ghostwire: Tokyo is about a supernatural and paranormal event that takes place in Tokyo, Japan. The city’s residents just upright vanish, a deathly fog castes all over the city, and it comes down to the protagonist Akito and his partner KK, a spirit who inhabits Akito’s body and grants him supernatural powers. To cleanse to clean the streets of tokyo that is covered in Yokai (Yōkai are a class of supernatural entities and spirits in Japanese folklore), ghosts, Slender salarymen, headless schoolkids, and other paranormal creatures. Trying to stop Akito and KK is a mysterious and malicious masked man named Hannya.

GhostWire Tokyo is a peculiar one for Tango Gameworks cause like their previous games, this one

is first person, spell-casting action-adventure game which is quite the change from the survivor horror games that they did. normally there’s a pattern of theme with Bethesda and their open world adventure games and first person shooters, you know, with guns, armour and things of that nature but in GhostWire Tokyo, your weapons are your hands and the monsters you slay are inspired by Japanese legends and folklore.

“The power of the hands plays such an important role,”- said game director, Kenji Kimura. Akito will have the ability to master and control the four elements; earth, wind, fire, and water against the weirdest yet powerful creatures. He’ll also gain access to a bow and arrow, grappling hook as his way to move across rooftops and use stealth to overcome the toughest situations. And it’s not just the ghosts and demons trying to stop Akito from succeeding; Tokyo itself will get twisted and corrupted to mess with our hero’s mind.

Ghostwire: Tokyo arrives March 25, officially, on PlayStation 5 (where it will be a one-year console exclusive) and Windows PC. Early access to the game on March 22 is available through Ghostwire: Tokyo’s Deluxe Edition.

Scorn is a game so long in development that it was actually on steam greenlight back in the day. Yes, that steam greenlight. The one that hasnt been a thing in half a decade at this point. After that was shut down, Scorn Appeared on Kickstarter where it raised a tidy $223,000 and had a 2018 release date, which it failed to hit before going dark.

After this, scorn was missing for a few years, with some (myself included) presuming the devs had either taken the money and run or that the game had been cancelled for some reason. However in 2020 the game re-emerged, this time the game was partnered with Xbox and with a 2021 release date, which, needless to say, they have now missed.

In a kickstarter update, Ebb games wrote: “Development hell is a term that is thrown around quite often. It should be used on projects that changed their core idea or scope mid-dev and can’t adjust to, That doesn’t apply to our products for the most part. In our case, a lot of mistakes were made and will make more in the future, but it’s a normal process for a new, inexperienced team.”

“Everything that was done up until the middle of 2018 has been reworked, 90% of it completely scrapped. It’s about making it what we want it to be, not releasing it just because we gave some arbitrary release date. If it’s not ready, it’s not ready. Why would people want to play something that the developers think it’s still not up to par?”

Ending on a somewhat combative note (that has since been withdrawn and apologised for) “If lack of communication is so bothersome just ask for a refund and be done with it”

Within 24 hours of this coming out, CEO Ljubomir Peklar said in regards to that last comment “I quickly and haphazardly read through the draft of the update and in all my wisdom approved it. Reading through again it was clear that the hostile tone it was written in should not be how we should express ideas or plans to people that help us out. We may be tired, confused and frustrated at our own ineptitude, but there is no reason to lash out at you. For that I personally apologise. I will do my best for this kind of outburst not to happen again.”

Scorn is going to be an FPS horror game inspired by the work of H R Geiger, who is probably best known for being the artist who designed the Iconic Xenomorph alien. Their style combines Organic and technological ideas. Scorn really looks like it will capitalize on those ideas. Its environments look Slimy and organic, yet planned and uniform at the same time. its primary weapon even appears to be alive to some extent.

Unfortunately scorn did get a bit lost in the shuffle, being announced at a similar time to “Agony”, another game with a similar style of gameplay, a similar horrific setting and large amounts of sexually charged imagery, albeit Scorns is a bit more nuanced than Agonys was.

Here is one of the most recent trailers for scorn, from october 2020

The new update is set to arrive today at 4 P.M. UK time.

Phasmophobia continues to grow since its incredibly successful early access launch just over a year ago. For those unaware, the terrifying multiplayer experience revolves around you and your friends assuming the role of amateur ghost hunters, adventuring into haunted locations attempting to identify the unknown entity.

The co-op ghost-hunting game was created by 25-year-old UK indie developer ‘Dknighter’, who recently took to Phasmophobia’s Steam page to announce the planned expansion of studio Kinetic Games.

“Over the past few years, I have been developing Phasmophobia on my own; however, due to how much it has grown in both popularity and its future content plans, it is now time to expand the team,” Dknighter said at the time.

“I have now started the process of hiring an experienced artist and a programmer to work on Phasmophobia. They will both start working with me on future content very soon as well as improving and expanding on the current content.”

Since its launch, the developer has consistently introduced new features and ghosts into the game, maintaining the title’s active status on Twitch. A neat touch was the ability to interact with the environment once murdered, spooking your friends in the land of the living. Newly introduced ghost types have included the Yokai and the Hantu, who hail from different regions worldwide.

We previously reported on a Halloween update set to bring us a new game mode and two new ghost types. It has now been revealed that this Halloween update, Nightmare, will roll out on 25th October at 4pm UK time.

“Been quiet on here lately, but here’s some exciting news,” developer Kinetic Games teased on its social media channels, accompanying the statement with a single image that shows the name, date, and time the update is expected to go live over a screenshot of a single camping tent.

Alongside the mentioned additions, there will also be a rework to the difficulty, and a new campsite map – which matches what the team tweeted out yesterday – and “much, much more”.

Phasmophobia’s last update, Exposition, rolled out at the end of August. The new content fixed numerous bugs and features “new and improved” equipment, including the DOTS projector and two additional ghosts, “the newly discovered Myling and Goryo”.

In other news, October has seen some big next-gen titles being released, including the likes of FIFA 22, Far Cry 6 and Left 4 Dead’s spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood. You can purchase all of these titles, as well as pre-ordering Call of Duty Vanguard, from our Go2Games website.

The demo’s launch has faced some technical issues…

We recently reported that yesterday marked the day of Abandoned’s demo launch. Well, it seems we have lied to the people, for this, I deeply apologise. The demo was set to launch yesterday but faced some technical issues at the final hurdle and, therefore, has been delayed. For how long, we do not know.

The game was due to launch via the Realtime Experience app at 8PM BST. The publisher even released this flashy teaser clip:

Are you Ready? pic.twitter.com/4oI5FjgDFE

— BLUE BOX Game Studios (@BBGameStudios) August 10, 2021

However, after a few minutes of waiting, Blue Box Game Studios posted a new tweet that made it known that there were some technical problems with the delivery of the demo and that they were working to fix it as soon as possible (see below).

There is a technical issue with the delivery of the patch. We are working to get this live ASAP.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

— BLUE BOX Game Studios (@BBGameStudios) August 10, 2021

There have been rumours that the demo will be delayed to August 12th, but the team has not officially confirmed. We simply have to sit and wait. Do not fret. The demo should still be arriving in the next day or two. In the meantime, you can watch the title’s official announcement teaser below:

The app will give players their first proper look at the upcoming game.

In a recent tweet, developer Blue Box Games confirmed that “the Realtime Experience patch will be available universally on August 10th.” Access to the app kicks off at 20:00 BST, but according to Comicbook, PS5 owners can pre-load the experience right now.

As for what you can expect from the experience, it’s still not completely clear. Blue Box says that there’ll be an “opening teaser as an introduction” and that players will “get a glimpse to [sic] ‘what you see is what you play,’ along with some announcements to look out for.”

In a prior thread, the developer said that the experience will offer the first dose of both the “high-end graphics” on offer and gameplay.

The studio says that features like this have only been made possible by the PS5’s SSD. While you’ll find the content included within the experience online after the event, the app will provide the best experience.

The arrival of the Realtime Experience comes at the end of a difficult few months for Abandoned. Rumours that the game and its developers were fronts for the next Hideo Kojima project have been swirling since the title’s announcement. Blue Box has consistently denied those rumours, but the extra attention caused plenty of distraction that game director Hasan Kahraman says hurt development. The title also had content leaked over the last few weeks which the developer had to address.

As confirmed by developer Blue Box Game Studio.

Reported leaked images of the upcoming PS5 exclusive horror game, Abandoned, have surfaced in recent weeks. Fans were not sure whether these leaks were, in fact, from this title or not due to the graphics looking less impressive than we had expected.

Studio founder Hasan Kahraman recently replied to a tweet that confirmed that the leaked images were real but came from a 2019 version of the game, which Kahraman states “was a lot different back then” and was used to test the PS4’s power.

The three screenshots in question don’t give much away due to how dark they are. However, they appear to be taken in an outdoor forest setting in the game, similar to Bloober Team’s 2019 horror game Blair Witch.

One thing we did notice, however, in the screenshot containing the brick wall, is that when the brightness level is brought up, a large, quite prominent mushroom is visible. That could be part of some kind of collectable or crafting mechanic in the game.

Abandoned and its developer Blue Box Game Studio have been surrounded by mystery ever since the game was first revealed via the PlayStation official Twitter account.

There have been several rumours that the game and the studio are a coverup for Hideo Kojima’s next horror project. That speculation spread so quickly that Blue Box had to put out a statement denying the claims. Despite the team’s efforts, however, Kojima theories continue to plague the studio.

As these photos are supposedly from an older game build, it’s probable that it no longer looks like this. The studio is releasing Abandoned’s first trailer this month through a PS5 exclusive app so we’ll have to stay tuned to find out if our crafting theory is true, as well as what the game will actually look like when released.

You can see the games announcement teaser below:

The horror game sold another 500,000 copies to reach a new milestone

Resident Evil Village, the heavily monitored eighth instalment of the storied Resident Evil franchise, has hit 4.5 million sales, a historic feat. If you don’t know, the game is the sequel to 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and it picks up right where its predecessor left off, with immediate success.

Village sold 3 million copies at launch, 4 million by May of this year, and has now reached a new figure of 4.5 million sales (as displayed on the game’s website).

Capcom reports that Resident Evil Village has sold over 4.5m copies worldwide https://t.co/LaE9smru8F

Capcom announced (at E3, 2021) that DLC will be coming to the game for all those who played the game and are hungry for more. “By popular demand, development has just started on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village,” Capcom said at the time. Although, we have little information on what the DLC will actually consist of.

In addition to the DLC, Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Re:Verse, the competitive multiplayer title, will launch at some point in July.

For any fans of the horror genre who haven’t been able to experience Village, I recommend you do so as soon as possible. I have played it through, and I can confirm it is a must-play for all horror fans alike. The historic horror franchise has brought us a title that rivals their best.

Solo developer Ondrej Svadlena releases a trailer for his upcoming survival horror driving game Beware…

Svadlena’s upcoming video game Beware is an interesting one, to say the least. The whole game takes place within the confines of your vehicle as you drive through eerie environments. The developer describes beware as “an open-world driving simulation where the player embarks on a long journey of information-gathering through exploration.” Horror games these days often fall under similar formulas, utilising elements that have been successful in the past. Beware, however, is a completely unique concept, which you don’t see very often in the horror genre these days.

The new gameplay trailer shows off some of the environments you will be traversing in your trusty vehicle. It seems the game doesn’t take place solely in creepy backwoods. The new environments displayed include a broken city skyline shrouded in fog, long stretches of tall buildings lit eerily with orange lights, and a forest of glowing lampposts. The pursuers are not confined to everyday street thugs in a regular car either. Tanks with lasers and oversized tires join in the fray, as well as other alien or futuristic-looking vehicles (see the trailer below).

Interestingly, Svadlena informed us that he will be focusing on integrating true-to-life physics into the game. His aim is to achieve true realism in that players should feel the suspension reacting to every bump and swerve in the road. Therefore, the goal is to realise true immersion while playing Beware.

The trailer adds more unknowns to the title already shrouded in mystery. The title currently has no set release date. However, the developer has stated on his Patreon page that Beware’s separate environments are ready to be merged and populated with additional content. The Patreon serves as a form of crowd-funding, allowing patrons to play new content as a work in progress and provide immediate feedback.

A creepy new first-person horror game, Perception, has received a game-play trailer! The player will be in the shoes of a blind character named Cassie, who uses echolocation to get herself through a haunted mansion and avoid any lurking ghosts and ghouls.

The game is currently on it’s last few days with it’s Kickstarter campaign, and is aiming for $150,000. The game is, at present, around the $10,000 mark. It is also being developed by The Deep End Games, which includes former BioShock employees from Irrational.

Cassie has a very special form of vision, which gives the game a wonderfully unique look, as well as frequent blackouts which occur. This makes Perception even more frightening! All Cassie has is a cane and a mobile phone to keep her going through the mansion, and occasionally has to hide from lurking creatures.

The game is set to release in June 2016, and you can watch the game-play trailer below. Don’t get scared now!
