Housemarque, the Finnish game studio behind Returnal recently posted a teaser image of what seems to be a partly-cracked statue of someone in otherworldly armor with the caption ‘Atropos…?’. Atropos is a planet in the game world of Returnal, which seemingly learned from the ‘Revengeance’ school of title naming. Returnal has seen multiple updates and patches since it’s April release, but nothing quite as spectacular as teleporting police or server-wide trading post bans. The most recent 2.0 update came out last month, which has added a couple quality of life improvements like the ability to suspend your in-game progress when closing the game and a photo mode. Speaking of photo modes-

A Good-Natured Rant On Photo Modes: Honey. Baby. My darling diamond-encrusted caviar bagel. We NEED to talk about the whole reason cameras exist in the first place! I myself enjoy fiddling with the filters and environment lenses in the photo modes of The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima (psst, which we have), so please explain to me why these “photo” modes don’t have the option for you to take a screenshot of your masterfully-rendered in-game background art built in! Do I look like I know how the share button works!? I don’t even know how to work the online multiplayer for Broforce despite beating it multiple times!

Housemarque has recently been acquired by Sony in June, so needless to say, future projects from Housemarque (be it on Returnal or otherwise) will likely have a fair amount of backing.

Overlord

Codemasters have teased a brand new game. Oooooh!!

It has been confirmed, by Codemasters, that Overlord will be returning in an all NEW game! Yesterday, the publisher released a teaser for the new title and more details are expected on this in the very near future. 

The details on the exciting new venture in the franchise remain very vague, but the YouTube video suggests that the game will be a four-player ordeal and rather different from the previous instalments of the game. Having said this, it appears to more alike to the 2009 DS game, Overlord: Minions. Perhaps we have an MOBA on our hands?!

007 – SPECTRE

A teaser poster for the next installation of the James Bond film franchise has been revealed!

If you, like me, are a ridiculously, insanely, outrageously massive Bond fan… Then read on!

On Tuesday 17^th March, MGM released, what they have called, a “teaser poster” for the next instalment of the Bond film franchise – SPECTRE. The poster (shown above) gives us dear old Daniel Craig as British spy James Bond, in his classic black two-piece and manipulating his trademark pistol. He’s probably one of the only men that can get away with wearing a turtleneck and actually pull it off! He is also wearing a rather large watch. Whether it’s a bog-standard watch or a watch of mass destruction, we don’t know… But we will find out soon! 

The film is being directed by Sam Mendes and also stars the award-winning actor Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista, who can also be seen playing ‘Drax’ in Guardians of the Galaxy. The film will open this year on 6^th November. 

Just one more thing… If anyone can tell me what SPECTRE stands for then I shall be most impressed! I already know, but that doesn’t count!

Emagon
New game is teased via Sony with trailer

More gaming treats seem to be on their way! Let’s see what the fuss is all about with Emagon then…

A post on the official Spanish PlayStation blog, PlayStation Espana, has announced a new venture which goes by the name of Emagon. The trailer shows a man exploring the woods with a compass before finding a plant in a desert area. To add to this; reading the title backwards reads “No Game”. It’s all a bit enigmatic!

 As Emagon’s announcement is meant to coincide with the upcoming PlayStation Experience on December 5, and has also been posted on an official PlayStation site, it is unlikely that this is all merely a joke. The post states that this is a “well-guarded secret”. Even more enigmatic!
