Ubisoft has announced that Roller Champions will be skating on May 25th!

Revealed in 2019 and originally planned to release the year after, Roller Champions is a “Ubisoft Original” free-to-play PvP online competitive sports game produced by Ubisoft Montreal.

Roller Champions looks like the young whippersnapper offspring of the ancient but still fun Brutal Deluxe SpeedBall 2 and recent competitive darling Rocket League! But with less cars especially much less of the rocket-powered type cars!

From the trailers the premise looks simple enough with similar competitive offensive/defensive and counteroffensive / defensive play and tactics with the aim to score more goals than the opposing side while navigating obstacles and different themed arenas.

Roller Champions will be available next week on Xbox One and PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 via backward compatibility, and for PC through the Ubisoft Store.

Of course Roller Champions will also be rolling to Nintendo Switch, the Epic Games Store, Stadia and Amazon Luna at a later date.

“In each match, you and two teammates will face off against another team of three in an elliptical arena,” Ubisoft says. “The goal is straightforward – reach five points before your opponents do – and the basics are easy to grasp”.

“Keep control of the ball by skating and passing, steal it from your opponents with a well-timed tackle, and make a full lap of the arena to open up the goal and take your shot”.

“Once you’ve got the fundamentals down, you can level up your game by practicing and socializing in the skatepark hub, and then using your skills in matches to execute team manoeuvres and do multiple laps to increase the points each goal is worth.”

Roller Champions will support the now standard cross-play and cross-progression at launch.

Roller Champions will also feature a free Roller Pass, which players can progress through to unlock cosmetic items for their skater, and a premium version offering access to exclusive gear that won’t be available in the item shop.

Some new details have been released about the huge, online game set in the Assassin’s Creed universe

Earlier this year Ubisoft announced it was making a brand new online platform for the Assassin’s Creed franchise titled Assassin’s Creed Infinity that would take players through different periods of time, unlike the rest of the games that stay in one period of history.

Ubisoft recently gave some updates during an investor briefing that clarifies how far along development is and denied some speculations that had arisen during its last announcement.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity 

Ubisoft was asked to comment on the price of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game during the investor briefing which Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot clarified Assassin’s Creed Infinity would not be a free-to-play game. They were also asked to clarify a release date, yet could not comment, however, shared the game is in the early stages of development, and that the game could arrive in 2024 at the latest.

Ubisoft also revealed that the project is in development at both Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec, the two studios that brought us Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey respectively.

What was confirmed was that Assassin’s Creed Infinity is set to bring all the elements the players love from the franchise and will be a live-service game that is similar to Fortnite. 

 

This game is going to have a lot of narrative elements in it. It’s going to be very innovative game, but it will have what players already have in all the other Assassin’s Creed games, all the elements that they love… right from the start. So it’s going to be a huge game. But with lots of elements that already exist in the games that we published in the past. – Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO.

 

Yet even after these statements, there is very little to go off what type of game Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be and how far away we can expect it to arrive in our online servers. There’s still a long journey ahead before we can receive any more updates on what to expect.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was also in the news for becoming Ubisoft’s second-biggest profit-generating game in history.

The heavily delayed followup/spin off of rainbow six: Siege may finally have a release date, or so a recent leak would suggest.

Rainbow Six Extraction was first announced in 2019, but was then delayed due to Covid 19 in 2020, before being delayed Again to January 2022 a few months back. Before now that was all we new: the game was intended to release in January 2022, but no definitive release date, just the month. That may just have changed

What is “Rainbow 6: Extraction”

“Rainbow six Q̶u̶a̶r̶e̶n̶t̶i̶n̶e̶ P̶a̶r̶a̶s̶i̶t̶e̶ Extraction” is a spin off of the popular Tactical FPS game “Rainbow 6: Siege”, but is more specifically a spinoff of the 2018 limited time mode “Outbreak” in which Players faced off against aliens in New Mexico.

In Extraction, a team of 3 players will be tasked with “Infiltrating” Alien infested locations and making their way through them. Along the way they will need to complete side objectives, from recovering lost team mates to killing key targets or collecting samples.

The Alien Threat you will face down are the “Archeans”, Parasitic lifeforms that spread a goo-like substance called the sprawl. While walking on sprawl, Players will be slower while Aliens will be buffed. Alongside the standard Alien threats there are numerous specialised variants of aliens that do different things.

Despite all this sounding… Kinda weird for a spinoff of a formerly very realistic/Realism adjacent Series like Rainbow 6, it should be noted that Extraction is set on a timeline split that originates from the outbreak event. That, and this isn’t even the weirdest Spinoff Rainbow six has had, even recently. Lets not forget that Very Recently 4 Rainbow ops were blasted into an alternate universe of anime catgirls. Yes, Really.

So when is the game coming out?

Again, as of now, Ubisoft’s official word on the release date of rainbow 6 Extraction is “January”. But thanks to a blogpost on ubisoft’s official website.According to a post on Ubisofts website, the Release date is January 20th, 2022. This has yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft themselves and while certain Publications have reached out from comment, nothing has come through yet.

The Delay was originally announced alongside a delay for Riders republic, which has yet to get any sort of word on when it is going to be released.

Ubisoft is getting ready for Far Cry 6’s release next month by offering a free copy of Far Cry 3

Yes, Ubisoft is giving away free copies of Far Cry 3 for the fans of the Far Cry franchise, specifically anyone that wants the PC version.

The first-person shooter game developed by Ubisoft Montreal was originally released in 2012 and follows the story of Jason Brody, a survivor that finds himself stranded on the fictional Rook Islands, a tropical archipelago that has been overtaken by ruthless pirate Vaas Montenegro, that Brody must help liberate.

How to get your free copy of Far Cry 3

Players can claim their free copy through Ubisoft Connect, but they must do this before 7:30AM on September 11 in their time zone.

Simply visit the Ubisoft Connect website, log into your Ubisoft Connect profile (or register one), then click on the Ubisoft Connect logo.

Remember to make sure you are using the right URL address in your country if an error occurs.

Once the game has been redeemed, it will stay in your Ubisoft Connect library even after the deadline has passed.

This offer comes in a month before the anticipated release of Far Cry 6, the latest instalment in the franchise that comes out on October 7.

Far Cry 6 will star Far Cry 3’s antagonist Vaas Montenegro as one of the three villains that are playable in a story DLC, along with the antagonists from Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5.

Ubisoft has now also reconfirmed Far Cry 6 will be receiving a free next-gen upgrade in a tweet they did, reassuring fans they can get the upgrade at no extra cost.

The new update for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla releases on September 7 and is the first update the game has received in over 2 months.

Ubisoft Montreal teased fans yesterday for what they could expect from update 1.3.1 and the developers have certainly put out all the stops to keep the game relevant, especially for hardcore fans.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla 1.3.1. Update

The 1.3.1 update is the first of two updates between the Seige of Paris DLC and the Discovery Tour: Viking Age expansion that is set to be released later this year. The 1.3.2 update is set to arrive before then, however, Ubisoft Montreal hasn’t given any details about what it might contain.

Yet the 1.3.1 update will include an entirely new difficulty mode called “Nightmare”, set to challenge players that have gone through the game on the current highest difficulty mode, “Master Assassin”.

There will also be more content for River Raids, a series of repeatable missions designed to reward players with exclusive gear and treasure. Part of the new River Raids content includes 3 new Rivers, new rewards, new 3 new abilities to be added.

It was also teased that the protagonist Evior might be receiving new abilities and gear for players while they explore the British Isles, as well as new weapons and gear that might include a short sword.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.3.1 launches tomorrow: September 7.
