While 2021 has overall been a pretty good year for games, world events like the covid 19 causing delays to games. With that in mind, while this isnt an exhaustive lise of everything coming out next year, these are some of the biggest games coming out in the next 12 months

Rainbow 6 Extraction (Jan. 20)

A Long time coming, Rainbow 6 Extraction is the spinoff of the popular multiplayer FPS that has been going strong since 2015. Extraction will take the game in a slightly different route, instead being a co-op experience akin to Left 4 dead, except with Rainbow 6’s trademark tactical precision

Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Jan. 28)

I am not a pokemon guy, but legends Arceus may be the shot in the arm the series needs right now, especially after how underwhelming Sword and shield were to some people. Legends: arceus is a prequel to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl which launched recently, set in the distant past. The game seems to feature real time pokemon capturing, as well as the serieses traditional turn based combat

Sifu (Feb. 8)

Hey, remember absolver? Little Martial arts game from 2017, you probably have it in your steam library because you got it with a humble bundle or as part of a steam sale and then never played it? Yeah, Sifu is a fighting game by those guys. It uses water colour art design and has a unique aging mechanic, where you age a little with each defeat, making you stronger but decreasing your health bar. You need to defeat 5 martial arts masters before time runs its natural course and takes you out.

Horizon Forbidden West (Feb. 18)

Horizon Forbidden west is the long anticipated sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. this time, Protagonist Aloy is heading to california (or whats left of it) to try to track down the source of mysterious plague that infects and kills almost everything it touches.

Elden Ring (Feb. 25)

The nightmare mind of Miyazaki is back. Elden ring may not bare the name of dark souls, but this is the closest we will ever be getting to a darksouls 4. Its open world now, the Lore was in part written by George R.R. Martine, and it is shaping up to be one of next years most anticipated games.

Gran Turismo 7 (March 4)

Look, I dont get racing games, so this one is kind of an enigma to me. But if your a fan of the genre, I am sure gran Turismo 7 is probably already Pre-ordered. Especially after Microsoft showed off their racing chops with Forza Horizon 4 in November, its time for sony to step up to the plate

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland (March 25)

Boarderlands 3 was… divisive to say the least, so Tiny Tina’s wonderland is instead set between Boarderlands 2 and 3, leaving out some of the larger issues with that game and instead thrusting us into a pseudo sequel to Borderlands 2’s “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep” DLC. This game will be more RPG and fantasy than the previous entries, but with the typical Borderlands charm.

Forspoken (May 24)

In Forspoken you play as Frey, an average newyorker who suddenly finds themselves Isekaid into a Magical land, which she must then free from the Tantas, the rulers of this world. This game is kind of going to be a knack-style deal, where its being developed to show of the power of the PS5, so Even if it isnt great it will definitely be interesting

Saints Row (Aug. 22)

Saints row is being rebooted. On one hand, sure, where do you take it after 4, where the main character became president of the United states and also Head of an alien empire, and where in the standalone DLC Your best friend went to hell and met god.Yeah, Saints row reboot seems to be taking itself a bit more seriously than its predecessor.

Starfield (Nov. 11)

Starfield is Bethesda’s new IP, and while it is likely to play somewhat like fallout or skyrim, just in space this time, word from the company says this will be a rather different  experience, instead focused around Exploration and less about combat, but it will only launch for PC and Xbox one

God of war: Ragnarok (TBC)

The sequel to god of war, god of war Ragnarok will continue kratos’s story as he travels across Norse mythology, trying to find the Norse god of war while being hunted down relentlessly by Thor. right now we dont know when it will launch, but when it does it will be one of the years highlight games.

Kirby and the forgotten land (Spring)

A new kirby game, taking the series into true 3d for the first time the reveal trailer shown off last september made the game look almost like the last of us, which is a… unique combination

Redfall (summer)

Its like left 4 dead, but with vampires. A team shooter from Arcane Leon, the developers of Dishonored and Prey 2017, all we know right now is that its first person, co-op and open world

Sonic Frontiers (Holiday)

Sonic goes open world in this new entry. Release date is set at holiday 2022, and thats about all we know right now

Ghostwire tokyo (TBC)

Everyone in tokyo is gone.its down to you, as hero Akito, to findout where they have gone and bring them back, all the while being attacked by mysterious paranormal beings. At launch ghostwire will be a PS5 exclusive but it will come to Xbox in 2023.

Lord of the rings: Gollum (TBC)

Not seen much on this one yet. Its a stealth game where you play as Gollum on a quest to recover the one ring. Its expected to come to all consoles, switch included

Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of hope (TBC)

Mario + Rabids Kingdom Battle was a surprising little gem, a turn based strategy game that was perfect for genre new-commers. Sparks of hope seems to be continuing that trend, including starting its own unique gameplay style that makes it play a little close to a 3d platformer than its predecessor.

Hogwarts Legacy (TBC)

An open world entry into the harry potter series, set in the 19th century, far before any of the major story events of the books. Fans are obviously excited for this unique take on the potter world.

The Legend Of Zelda: breath of the wild 2 (TBC)

The sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed games in recent history, breath of the wild 2 is sure to hit big when it launches at some point next yeah. If it launches, still not clear on that.
