Video Game Fans Go Ape – Donkey Kong
The year 1981 saw the release of Nintendo’s arcade game Donkey Kong. The game was one of the first example of the platform gaming genre. Donkey Kong focuses on manoeuvring the character across platforms while overseeing various obstacles, the main character being Jumpman, or as we know him today, Mario. Jumpman’s aim is to rescue a damsel is distress, from a giant ape name Donkey Kong, a situation Nintendo fans will get use to in the future.
