Square Enix has revealed a battle royale spin-off for Final Fantasy 7 is coming and is called The First Soldier.
The multiplayer game is set to be released on IOS and Android this year. The game is set 30 years before the events of the original Final Fantasy 7, in Midgar. Players must ‘battle for survival’ in the last man standing game, using multiple guns and special powers.
The trailer for the game was released on Thursday, 25th February on YouTube. ‘Join the fray, lay waste to your foes, and climb the ranks,’ the trailer says. Following this Square Enix also announced a second mobile game coming called Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. Ever Crisis is a single-player game which includes all of the Final Fantasy VII events.

Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which is a PlayStation 5 update. Intergrade is due to be released on June 10th, featuring improved visuals, a Photo Mode, quicker loading times, as well as a new episode featuring character Yuffie. Other improvements include higher resolution, various new effects and enhanced lighting. Players can also choose to pick between 4K resolution or 60fps.
PS4 owners will be allowed to upgrade to the PS5 game for free, as well as transferring data from the older game.
