To have access to the new upgrade you must download patch 1.08 and go to display settings where you can find the new framerates. This new feature allows players to choose between 30 fps and 60 fps, which should run smoothly on the PS5. Digital Foundry tested the new patch and found that The Last Of Us Part II used 60 fps for eight hours of gameplay.
Other PS4 games have received a similar patch upgrade for the PS5, including Days Gone, God of War, Ratchet and Clank and Ghost of Tsushima. The performance patch for TLOU2 also features other enhancements for the PS5, such as faster loading times and enhanced resolution.
Naughty Dog’s official Twitter account reposted PlayStation’s reveal post of the new patch update.
