With Sony’s next big PlayStation 5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart only a few weeks away, the company has provided a deeper look into the game’s accessibility options.
Within these options are game speed features. The upcoming title will allow players to slow down the action to 70 percent, 50 percent or 30 percent of the full speed. You can also assign a Game Speed shortcut on the DualSense’s D-pad, which will enable players to slow down the game whenever you desire, as well as returning to normal speed when press the button again.
Michele Zorrilla, advanced senior user experience researcher at Insomniac Games wrote ‘These options were added for both Cognitive and Motor accessibility in response to reviews where players could feel overwhelmed in combat or had difficulty with quick inputs in traversal situations.’
The D-pad buttons are set to weapon quick select by default, but can be changed by setting up other shortcuts, such as contrast toggles and weapon throwing. Other accessibility options that will be featured in the upcoming title are automatic gliding when in the air, flight assist, screen effects, controller vibrations, heads-up display, adaptive triggers and audio.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released on the PS5 on June 11th.
