Activision’s CEO says its decision to move its exclusivity deal, from Microsoft to Sony, for Call of Duty DLC’s was the correct decision.
For years, Microsoft’s Xbox systems got the map packs a month before release on any other platform. With Black Ops 3 coming out this year, the new deal with Sony means the PlayStation consoles will be getting the new content first. Speaking in an interview to Game Informer, Eric Hirshberg said, “It’s been a cross-platform game the entire time. We’ve had great players on both platforms the entire time. The partnership with Sony was the right decision at this time. They’ve been a great partner on Destiny, and they have a ton of momentum with the PS4 and really got behind this thing. They wanted to see that deal on their platform. We’re going to make it work.”
During the interview, Eric Hirshberg also spoke about remasters and the idea of remastering some original Call of Duty’s for the PS4 and Xbox One.
