Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise is Nintendo’s only planned paid DLC
Nintendo premiered the Animal Crossing New Horizons’ Direct on the 15th October. There was far more added to the game than we all expected. Including the Happy Home Paradise DLC, which can also come with the Nintendo Online and Expansion Pack Membership, which includes a library of N64 games ported to the Nintendo Switch, such as Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and many more old-time classics, soon to be added is Paper Mario.
What updates will Animal Crossing New Horizons’ have in the future?
The upcoming Happy Home Paradise DLC costs £22.49 and £34.99 with the Nintendo Online and Expansion Pack Membership, however, Nintendo confirmed during the Animal Crossing New Horizons’ Direct, that what we received as a free update, will be the last large free update we’ll get. Then we have Happy Home Paradise that will be the only Paid DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons, as Nintendo mentioned to IGN themselves, so then…what’s next?
What we can expect from Animal Crossing New Horizons’ are small updates along the way, perhaps new sea creatures, new emotions or new festivals and features, but most likely these will be added one at a time and not altogether as the update had been previously.
Nintendo had previously claimed that they had 3 years’ worth of updates and more to come if that is the case, we can expect to receive small additions into the game.

What is Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise?
If you’re unsure, Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise is a DLC (Downloadable Content) that includes creating your own vacation homes for characters in the game and after a while, even customising homes for characters on your island. However, you will need Animal Crossing New Horizons’ in order to play it, because it is an additional content that can’t be accessed without the game.
Furthermore, Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise includes some new actions and furniture that can only be accessed in the DLC. You get to meet new characters such as Niko and Wardell (Who is believed to be Wendell’s grandson). As mentioned on the Animal Crossing UK Twitter account, Wardell has been described to be shy and not talk much. It will certainly be a pleasure to learn more about the shy seal and hopefully have him open up to the player like Sable does from the Able Sisters.
