Two new games have been recently added to Apple Arcade’s library of over 225 games. Subscribers of Apple Arcade have access to Oddmar and Dandara: Trial of Fears.

Oddmar

Oddmar (developed by MobGe) is an action-adventure platformer game starring a viking called Oddmar who is searching to belong. Oddmar takes on quests full challenges in order to prove himself to his village. The many different quests include magical weapons, brand new friends, enemies and so much more. Explore and discover 24 hand-crafted levels with enticing physics-based puzzles within enchanted forests, snow-capped mountains and mines full of hidden secrets waiting to be ascertained.

The developer MobGe announced that stories of fearless Vikings, the Scandinavian culture and geography were the inspiration for the game. The team delved deeper into the stories they eventually discovered many mythological events from the past that they could include into the game. The team wanted to invite players to experience environments where they can feel the texture of Scandinavian geography and even smell the rain too.

Oddmar has also won an award in 2018 which was the Apple Design Award.  The game is also already available on the App Store. Without the Apple Aracde subscription, the game costs $5. Oddmar has a 4.8 star rating out of 5. If you are a fan of Secret Oops! and Yaga: The Roleplaying Folktale may want to check out Oddmar.

Dandara: Trials of Fear

Set in a world on the verge of ruin where its citizens live in oppression and isolation but Dandara rises up as a heroine in order to save the City of Salt.  This 2D Metroidvania platformer allows you to explore by jumping across walls and ceilings to combat enemies whilst discovering the hidden mysteries buried among the City of Salt.

The Development team mainly focused on using touchscreen and drag motions to keep players immersed as well as being able to tell a story through their own culture.

Dandara: Trials of Fear’s narrative and main character is of a fierce, brave and courageous warrior who continuously fought for freedom against invasive and controlling oppression and was inspired by real-life heroine Dandara Dos Palmares, An Afro- Brazilian warrior who fought against slavery during the 17th Century.

The team working on the game realized how of a positive impact that diversity in games could have for their cultural, behavior and society.

Dandara: Trials of Fear is known to have an App Store Editors’ Choice game and it is already available to play on the App Store, however it costs $4 without an Apple Arcade Subscription. Dandara: Trials of Fear has a 4.4 out of 5 rating.

Ubisoft has announced the Y6S4 patch notes with the addition of the new tier of cosmetics along with new exotic weapon skins. The new tiers of cosmetics may be more pleasing to the eye than the weapon skins that players have gotten access to up to this point however these new tiers of cosmetics will only be available through the battle pass.

The exotic skins won’t only just be textured skins they will also change the 3D models of the guns in addition to adding new animations too. Having these skins also creates a path for Siege monetization which could cause an uproar in controversy among fans. On the bright side of things, at least the brand new UZK50GI feels amazing.

The Rainbow Six Siege High Calibre was released on November 30th. The test service went live on November 9th.

Brewster has finally arrived in Animal Crossing New Horizons!

But you will have to find where he is first as he does not appear on the Island.

Animal Crossing New Horizons massive 2.0 update is available and one of the main features of this major update is introducing Brewster and his café called the Roost. In past Animal Crossing titles, Brewster runs the Roost café. You will need to find Brewster in order to convince him to run the Roost.

Find Blathers

First, speak to Blathers who you can find at the museum on your island.   Next head to your pier west of your island where the small bridge is and talk to Kappn who will be sitting in his boat. This is new another feature that came with the Animal Crossing New Horizons massive update. For Kappn to take you to go anywhere on his boat you will need 1,000 Nook Miles. Bear in mind that Kappn can only take you on one island tour a day. If you didn’t speak with Blathers before going on the island tour. You will have to wait till the next day in order to speak to Blathers and then to go on an island tour.

Nook Miles can be obtained either as a reward for meeting certain milestones in the objectives or can be earned by completing recurring tasks. Kappn will take you on his boat to a small island.

Find Brewster

You may find Brewster on this small island by exploring around. Speak to Brewster and say that Blathers sent you to look for him. Brewster will ask if you can relay a message back to Blathers. You will also receive a gyroid fragment from Brewster. If you plant the gyroid fragment and water it on your island it will eventually grow into a gyroid.

Head back to your island and visit the museum

To get back to your island you will need to speak to Kappn. Once you arrive back on your island head to the museum and speak to Blathers. Relay the message from Brewster to Blathers. Blathers will then tell you that he needs to prepare the museum for Brewster’s arrival and will tell you that the museum will be closed for the entirety of the following day. The day after the museum will reopen and Brewster will be in the Roost Café which will be on the second floor.

However, this isn’t the only thing that came with the massive Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 update alongside Brewster, The Roost Café and gyroids being an addition the game also adds more new Nook Miles items and new DIY cooking recipes. Nintendo has also made a new paid DLC expansion pack for Animal Crossing New Horizons called Happy Home Paradise which allows players to take on jobs designing various dream vacation homes for a variety of different Animal Crossing characters. The Happy Home Paradise paid DLC expansion pack currently costs $25/ £22.49. However, if you subscribe to The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Plan or purchase The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack you will be to access it at no additional cost.

Animal Crossing New Horizons and Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise are both available to play on the Nintendo Switch.

The response to Call of Duty: Vanguard with its huge content was positive.  However, due to usual issues players have been more cautious and severely critical. Numerous complaints have already been made about balancing and skill-based matchmaking but it does not compare to how many players have had visibility issues when playing Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The visibility issue was one of just a few criticisms the game had at its beta stage on the other hand it has become relatively easier to spot enemy players in the game’s final version. Unfortunately, there have been other issues that have come up that also happen to be linked to the visibility issues for an example the Mortar Barrage Killstreak. The Mortar Barrage Killstreak is a view of explosive payloads that launch large piles of dirt and debris into the air which blocks off the view of sightlines completely. This explosion lasts several seconds and on smaller maps can be a complete temporary brick wall for players. This may not be the only problem for players so far.

The Call of Duty: Vanguard Numa Numa map may not be near the top of the lists but it is known to be just a poorly average map. Its layout can leave players stuck with its severe spawn traps. Its unrefined trenches that make up the map and the yellowish color pallet may make it stand out but it is also the reason why so many players have visibility issues.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 will most likely bring the in-game store with a battle pass with the addition of colorful skins which just might make seeing just a little bit more easier.

Whilst there are players that may complain and say that they hate the Call of Duty: Vanguard Numa Numa map there are other players who aren’t bothered by the map as it may not affect their visibly as much or if at all. Although the majority does have a dislike in response to the map but there are other players who seem to enjoy playing on the map.

With the mixed variety of player responses. Sledgehammer Games may be inclined to leave to map as it is. In conclusion, priority should be given to at least fix Call of Duty: Vangaurds’ bugs and other issues.

The Splinter Cell Chaos Theory game was originally priced at $9.99/ £8.59 on Ubisoft’s official store but is now available for free until 2pm on November 25th.

As part of Ubisoft’s 35th anniversary celebration Splinter Cell Chaos Theory has been given away for free. Earlier this month the publisher Ubisoft has also given away free copies of Assassins Creed Chronicles Trilogy.

Ubisoft has given the seal of approval to its first mainline Splinter Cell game. Development sources reveal that the Splinter Cell Chaos Theory game was put into production as a way to win back fans of the series that were frustrated by present efforts in order to revive the franchise into the mobile and VR setting.

It is unknown as to which studios are working on the project however two people that have had some insight into Ubisoft’s plans have suggested that the new Splinter Cell game has been led by a studio outside of its traditional Montreal base.

The sources claim that title is in the early stages of production however there is a small possibility it could be announced next year.

It has been suggested that Ubisoft could take some inspiration from IO Interactive’s Hitman Franchise for its next Splinter Cell game.

Based on what VentureBeat had said weeks before the E3 2021″ Ubisoft had fans play the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and something that had an appearance of a new Splinter Cell prototype.

“The testers did not spend a lot of time with the possible Splinter Cell game. Ubisoft provided a vertical slice of that was just a basic tutorial section but this game combined familiar Splinter Cell action with elements of the 2016 Hitman reboot.”

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory will be free to download on PC until November 25th.

Supercell has recently reported that Hay Day will soon not be able to support Facebook features.

Hay Day a very popular farming simulator game has been using Facebook for years allowing people to add their friends on Facebook to their Hay Day friends list, play Hay Day on Facebook, connect their Hay Day farm to their Facebook account and keep up to date on the latest updates and sneak peeks. However, usage of Facebook features for Hay Day will soon expire making Hay Day unable to be used with Facebook features.

Here is what Supercell had reported in a news tab within the in-game inbox.

The date on which it will expire is not yet known however you can still play Hay Day on other devices and keep up to date via the news tab in the in-game inbox and on other social media too.

It is safe to say that we will all miss Hay Day’s cover page, updates and sneak peeks on their official Facebook page but at least we still get to play Hay Day and as Supercell mentioned we can still save our current farms to a Supercell ID account that we can create and log into and it is also mentioned that we can connect with our friends through the Supercell ID accounts too.

Forza Horizon 5 is now giving long-time players the ability to unlock rewards if they had previously played any of the Forza Horizon titles.

Forza Horizon 5 is the upcoming installment for the Forza Horizon racing video game series. Although Forza Horizon 5 is newer it seems like it will stay true to Forza Horizons Series on-going history. Forza Horizon 5’s loyalty reward was unveiled confirming that gamers who played past Forza Horizon titles and Forza Motorsport titles will be rewarded with free cars.

Forza Horizon 5 will take races to the sunny sands of Mexico. Forza Horizon 5 will have a massive map with very detailed environments, race tracks and cars. The environments will be ranging from tropical coastlines to the wilderness of a jungle and everything else inbetween including the added addition of ever-changing seasons. Expanding the garage will enable players to keep a variety of different cars as the Forza Horizon 5 game will feature many tracks all with different types of terrains resulting in certain cars being better for certain types of terrains although this does allow for players to not just stick to using only one car for the entire game.

Players that have played past Forza Horizon games and past Forza Motorsport games will gain access to past cover cars from the Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport series including a line up of including Forza Horizon‘s 2013 Dodge Viper SRT GTS, Forza Motorsport 5‘s 2013 McLaren P1, Forza Horizon 2‘s 2014 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4, Forza Motorsport 6‘s 2017 Ford GT, Forza Horizon 3‘s 2016 Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4, Forza Motorsport 7‘s 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and Forza Horizon 4‘s 2018 McLaren Senna. The corresponding car from each game that the player has played will be automatically added to the player’s Forza Horizon 5’s Garage after they have completed the initial drive.

The cars that players gain from loyalty rewards are not exclusive, won’t have any upgrades and look identical to the cars that players can buy from the Autoshow. On the other hand, the fact that players can get these cars for free can save players money and give their garage a tune-up from the very start. This will allow players to use cars they may be familiar with and also allows them to explore the map with different kinds of cars and see which one works for them. This early start with having many cars to choose from may give players the edge over their competition.

Forza fans seem to have mixed feelings towards this new information. Some Forza fans are delighted to drive around with cars from past Forza games on the sunny scenery of Forza Horizon 5. Whilst some Forza fans think cars from past games should be kept in the past and not brought over as free cars as this could take away from the progression of the Forza Series.

After 2 years of very intensive development, one of the most classic games has just been made for the Atari 8-bit computer.

The Prince of Persia was created by Jordan Mechner and was first released for the Apple 2 and became a very surprising success.

Many ports for The Prince of Persia were made afterwards but unfortunately, users of the Atari 8-bit computer system never got the chance to play it.

That was until one day a group of people were able to suspend the 30-year long wait by making it downloadable and playable for anyone who owned any Atari XL/XE with 128kb of RAM.

The Prince of Persia was ported from the BBC Master port by Bitshifters which has the source code available on Github.

Sony has now allowed the unlocking of the M.2 SSD inside the PlayStation 5.

For those that own a Sony Playstation 5 and are running out of storage, it has now been made easier to add extra storage space due to the PlayStation 5’s extra internal M.2 SSD slot being available as long as you have a compatible drive. Before, this was only available to those who had the beta version of Sony’s PlayStation OS.

Owners could add an external drive for PlayStation 4 games that was only able to play PlayStation 4 games on it before M.2 SSD and even before the beta version. On the other hand, PlayStation 5 games could only be stored on an external drive but could not be played on an external drive.

These speedy M.2 drives aren’t particularly easy to find especially if they have the added edition of including a heatsink. A heatsink is very important and required to prevent overheating components as the role of a heatsink is to take away the heat from the main components. If the drive does not already include a heatsink you will need to add one manually. Here is an example: the Samsung 980 did not originally include an attached heatsink however Samsung is planning to release another version of it along with a compatible heatsink later this year.

Some specific guidelines on what type of drive Playstation 5 will be able to support without any specific model recommendations were reported by Sony. The SSD options listed below should work due to being based on the specs that were published at the time. Some are being tested such as the 4TB SeagateFireCuda 530.

The Samsung 980 pro has had a lot of people waiting for it however we don’t have to wait much longer as it will be going on sale from Friday 29th of October. It will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacity.

There are many other options for an SSD that are available on the market today such as these listed below:

The Crucial P5 Plus (with a name like that it is almost as if it was almost made to be an SSD for the PlayStation 5) is able to go up to read speeds of 6,600Mbps and is a 1TB drive.

The Seagate Firecuda 530 is currently available in a capacity of 1TB, 2TB and 4TB. The popularity of Seagate Firecuda makes it so that it is almost always out of stock. However, if there is a rare case you happen to find it in stock then by all means go for it if it was what you want.

The Aorus is available in 1TB SSD and also comes in a 2TB capacity too.

The WD Black SSD is available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacity. It should be noted that it contains a thin heatsink.

The Sabrent SSD comes in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacity however it should be noted that a heatsink will be needed to be fitted manually as it does not come with a heat sink already.

The XPG Gammix S70 Gen 4 SSD comes in 1TB and 2TB. However, you will need to replace the heatsink on this SSD with a slimmer spreader in order for it to work.

Lenovo has made a new handheld portable gaming console called The Lenovo Legion Play.

The Lenovo Legion Play looks like a mix between the Nintendo Switch and Valve’s Steam Deck.

The Lenovo Legion Play will be designed to play Triple A titles as well as regular games you can play on the go such as mobile games, games from the cloud and even allow players to stream games from their game library.

Lenovo Legion Play is going to be the first Android cloud gaming handheld made. It features a HDR 10, Built in controllers, dual speakers alongside dual vibration and a battery of 700mAH power whilst supplying players with the best experience in gaming.

Comparing the Nintendo Switch OLED to the Lenovo Legion Play shows that both consoles share some similarities such as both consoles having a screen size of 7 inches, both having shoulder buttons and joysticks. However, both consoles have very different features. Lenovo Legion Play has a d-pad on the left side, it also has numerous shoulder buttons across the top part of the console and includes some face buttons that are on the right side.

The Lenovo Legion Play may look like a more denser and slimmer version of Valve’s Steam Deck at first glance, although it will be more Android based instead of running a custom version of Linux. The Lenovo Legion Play will most likely be able to take advantage of games download from the Google Play Store, Google’s Stadia, games that are played through emulators that are suitable for Android devices, NVidia GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

It is not yet known if the Lenovo Legion Play will be supporting cellular connectivity or if it will just have to rely on being restricted to only Wifi. For the Lenovo Legion Play to stand a good chance in the market it will need to have an affordable price or be slightly cheaper as it will be in competition with all the most recent gaming handhelds that are already on the market for consumers to buy.

But it’s not all doom and gloom since through the massive success of the Nintendo Switch opens up opportunities for other companies to get the ball rolling on what handheld console they can come up with since the Nintendo Switch proves that handhelds are still popular on the market today with the endless amount of units it has sold.

However, Lenovo Legion Play isn’t Lenovo’s only surprise of new upcoming gaming additions as they are also making a gaming phone called the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel H2O Edition. Well H2O is the chemical formula for water,  so this new phone will have something to do with water in fact it will have a water cooling component to make certain that the excess heat will not impact the user’s gaming experience with the console and the console’s ability of performance.

The Lenovo Legion Play’s official release date is still to be confirmed.
