Within Call of Duty’s Halloween special, limited-time game mode, players have discovered a new bug in the game which involves the teleportation skill and can break players games.
The Trailer
With Halloween rapidly aproaching, fright season is undoubtably on course for being in full swing of action within the impending weeks. The extremely popular franchise, Call of Duty took the Halloween spirit into their stride and, early on in October released a trailer was for its Halloween content called ‘The Haunting’. The trailer consisted of Scream’s Ghostface murdering streamer FaZe Swagg. Other things that were featured in the trailer were an increase in skeletal masks in all colours and violent zombies on the loose. Players had been patiently awaiting the release of the new Halloween game mode The haunting. The trailer for The Haunting was released earlier in October, and the actual game mode dropped on October 19th.
As last years Call of Duty event, The Haunting, was a great success it was anticipated that this years event would be just as, or if not more, successful. This year, we see the addition of the Ghosts of Verdansk that has players monitering and managing their fear meter whilst attempting to avoid ghosts. When a Call of Duty: Warzone player gets killed in the game, they will return as a ghost with the opportunity to regain life by using the special abilities that they’re given. This element of the new game mode is similar to the last years Call of Duty Halloween event where the players would die and turn into zombies instead of ghosts.
Bug found within the game
One particular element of the The Haunting consists of being able to teleport, however, players have started to realise that using the Teleport skill can potentially break players Ghost of Verdansk sessions. A player of the game and Reddit user, iByRaMa has discovered that using the teleport skill could potentially clip players underneath the ground, falling until they die.
Despite discovering that the bug was encountered through the method list, it is unknown whether or not other factors went into the bug. It is possible that falling through the ground might end up requiring more steps than what iByRaMa did. Similarly to other past Warzone bugs that have been discovered in previous seasons, it can be recognised that it will become more exasperating for players the more often it is reproduced.
