Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo 2 Resurrected will be coming to PC and console within 2021.
The game is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch. The game coming to this consoles will also bring support for cross-progression. It was announced to be returning during the BlizzCon 2021 opening ceremony.
Blizzard president J. Allen Brack stated ‘Diablo 2 Resurrected is a full HD remaster of both the original game and the expansion Lord of Destruction. It takes the 2D sprite-based classic that we love and brings it into the present in 3D utlising up to date graphical rendering and lighting technologies.’

‘It also includes modernising,’ Brack claimed. He continued to say ‘All 27 minutes of cinematics recreated shot for shot with the explicit intention of preserving both the look and the pacing of the original movies’.
The remaster includes classic and improved visuals, which players can switch between, as well as Diablo’s iconic game play being unchanged. The game has been developed by Vicarious Visions and Crash Bandicoot N.sane Trilogy. Blizzard provided a glimpse at new and improved visuals, with the reveal of the Rogue character class.
