Fortnite is an online videogame that was developed by the company Epic Games and was first released in 2017. It is available in three distinct game mode versions which all share similar general gameplay and game engine; Fortnite Save the World; Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative.
In Fortnite, Chapter 2 Season 8, has brought in a range of new items and weapon for the game. Now, Fortnite’s 18.30 patch is offering more of the same form of Grapplers- a suction firing gun that launches players across the map to their desired location, within reasonable distance.
Grapplers
As of yesterday, the Grappler has returned to Fortnite gameplay. Players will be able to find this item hidden in treasure chests across the map. Once they have been obtained, players will be able to use them at any point during a game. For example, if you are running from the storm, and you aren’t going fast enough, you would be able to use the Grappler to fling you forward by way of suction cup projectile. Therefore, you would be able to launch yourself, at high speed to whatever the suction cup has attached itself to.
Players of Fortnite have always been fans of the Grapplers. The reason for this being that you can use them as a quick escape mechanism or, in addition to this, they can be used as a means of closing a gap between you and your fleeing opponent. Fortnite’s 18.30 patch offers a new variant of the Grapplers to players. They are now known as the Icy Grapplers which may prove to be more entertaining as they have the ability to cover a players feet in the ice.
Ice Grapplers
This new variant of the weapon act like the original Grappler, however, the only difference is that when you land, your feet will turn into two blocks of ice, meaning that you are able to skate around for a few seconds. This new effect will be beneficial for escaping opponents and also a closing circle.
The Grappler weapons are only available in the standard playlists as they have been barred from competitive play as it would give players too much of an unfair advantage over their opponents.
